Since Radek is the general secretary in this timeline i would suggest you look into "Radek on China: documents from the former secret Soviet archives" for a good source on what he thought about the Chinese revolution and other matters relating to the region
The fact that your German October and Rewriting History's Red World are running together is an absolute goldmine for somebody like me, who absolutely adores USSR-related alt history. Great video, I like how this Trotskyist USSR is shaping up, and a German SSR would've been epic.
Something I want you to keep in mind for the future of this scenario is the development of nuclear weapons. Einstein, A Jew and socialist, wrote to FDR in August of 1939 to warn him that the Germans (With the obvious relevancy of their ideology) were likely constructing a nuke. Oppenheimer also sort of fits into this category because he was basically a Pinko, and was motivated to oppose the Germans of our timeline. Not only is that not present, but their own government, and the governments they are aligning with, are closer to the governments that these same sorts of nuclear scientists opposed in our timeline. Suffice to say, the American nuclear program will be a little lacking compared to OTL. Furthermore, the forefront of development in nuclear physics also occurred in Germany (Probably the socialist controlled parts in this timeline). The soviets in our own timeline also managed to develop a bomb in August of 1949 in spite of all of the issues they had in our timeline, including Stalin demanding his scientists replicate the American design when his own scientists had a superior design they were already working. Einstein himself would also probably work on the bomb, and maybe Oppenheimer decides to go the socialist Germany if antisemitism in America gets too prominent. Also, Trotsky was the darling of the Western Left, even at this time, meaning more tacit support for him, even in Pinko circles, which means the reactionary counter-reaction will clamp down and reduce their own efficiency through suppression of academics. Just some thoughts, since the nuke is likely going to be a trump card for these powers, rather than a cherry on top to finish off an enemy. Also, the Ukranian famine might be less devastating because the USSR sold lots of grain to acquire machinery. More, and better fed, assets in a war, and the Ukranian population will be less resentful/prone to rebellion.
@@LoreDad why do the soviets annex poland and northern germany? wouldnt puppets government make more sense? and why would the baltic states be left alone?

What language would such a soviet union even have? Russian made sense as an administrative language in the original Soviet Union considering that it was mostly made up of areas of the former Russian Empire but this Soviet Union features the whole of northern Germany as a soviet socialist republic, so how would it be governed considering the large German population now inhabiting the union? Would both German and Russian be used in administration?
I don't think it would be a part of the USSR. The USSR was the compromise plan between Lenin and Stalin over self-determination of republics within the former Russian Empire. Here, the German socialist republic would probably be either a puppet government (Like OTL East Germany) or an equal organisation (On paper) to the USSR. This is assuming the administrative division of the USSR doesn't get abolished.
@@iamasalad9080 In OTL it made sense, the Soviets were forced to sign peace with them like with Poland, and Stalin did focus more on socialism in one country before trying foreign expension. Not to mention they had more close potential allies like Poland. While it makes sense for Trotsky not to annex them if he decided to focus on internal affairs too, I don't see why he would not have conquered them before signing the peace with the West here as he already had Northen Germany
I replied to another comment asking a similar question, here it is; Guaranteed by west, yet under Soviet influence. Can’t risk invading or else direct intervention. Will be covered next episode (hopefully)
Have you thought about the best-case scenario for Marxist socialism (E.G Lenin and Luxembourg) sweeping the world with the least amount of changes to the timeline. I've been thinking about, as an exercise in alternate history, what the most likely path to socialism (Implied the marxist variety) becoming about as powerful/dominant of an ideology by 2024 as capitalism in 2024. Specifically, the least number of individual steps that one as essentially the author of this alternate world would have to make that don't directly follow from the trend set. Example, the US never entering into WW1 because Germany didn't antagonize the US during the war. This could be done by continuing to restrict submarine warfare, preventing the Lusitania from being sunk, and not sending the Zimmerman telegram, and perhaps a few other things that don't require broad systemic changes. Might also throw in Germany invading the Netherlands in 1914 too. Following through on this, the Entente and Central Powers (Germany specifically) can continue to weaken each other militarily, all the while increasing radicalism within these societies. Some will go Far-Right, others will go Far-Left. This is follows through from the previous change, and doesn't require any hand holding for the change to occur. What might require a little nudging is Germany winning on the Western front, let's say by mid 1919, and then redirecting their forces towards Italy and suppressing ethnoreligious revolts in Austria-Hungary and their new Eastern European dominions like Poland, all the while suffering massive famines from the continued British blockade. This could also lead to nationalist movements in Eastern European dominions to be squashed by Germany, leaving potential soviet leadership unopposed by organised resistance once the Soviets sweep in, kind of like how the Warsaw uprising crushed Polish governmental legitimacy (With Stalin waiting for the dust to settle). The Soviets would almost certainly try striking at this rapidly crumbling empire in the early 1920s, especially since spurring revolution in Germany, perhaps using the some of the resources of Russia in the process, was the primary objective of the October Revolution in Russia. Throw in PODs from Serov's Pax Sovietica to cause the Russian civil war to end quickly, and have Russia cut off grain shipments towards to rally the Russian people against Germany when they inevitably attack. From here, the soviets win the war. Also, France being defeated in 1919 will lead to a revolution of some sort, either a socialist one or the sort of "Yes Man", which would benefit the soviets regardless. This is just part of the few major points of divergence to lead to this outcome. Having Teddy Roosevelt never become president, and FDR passing away in the 1920s (Or perhaps he gets overthrown in the Business plot.). Speaking of, have you thought of doing a scenario where the Business Plot occurs? Considering that you seem to like having America turn into something like Italy under the Yes Man, this would be a straight forward way to get there. I want to hear your thoughts on what you think would be the best path. Try to limit changes to 1900 onwards, which is what I try to do.
It will likely be late next year, if it is developed further. Going to be busy with German October as well as some other one - offs and lore videos. Thanks for asking!
