RadioMaster Zorro How to update the Multi Protocol Module firmware

- Fairly regularly there are firmware update releases for the Multi Protocol Module (MPM) within your Zorro radio. It is not necessary to update every time a release is available but sometimes there can be an important update which should be implemented.
You may also want to use any new protocols which have been added since the last release.

Hi,
Your video was really helping me figuring out how to update the 4-in-1 module. However, when I go in a model where I previously had FrSky configured, the only option I now have is CRSF for bot the internal and external module.
I do have an ExpressLRS backpack, so for the external module this is how it supposed to be.
Do you have an idea what could be causing this for the internal module?

I fixed it. I had to change the setting in the SYS, page 6/7 for the Internal RF back to Multi.
I'm not sure what caused all the settings in my radio to reset. These settings were all correctly set when I received the radio. Now even the mode had changed to mode 1... Weird

I have a radio master pocket cc2500. When I connected the usb cable to the RC (top not charging port) and selected storage the RC never showed up on my computer as a usb drive! Any ideas why?

Unfortunately I couldn't reach anything, I fell I threw my money in the garbage.

Ahmed, let me see if I can assist you. What are you having problems with binding the receiver? What version of the MPM firmware does your radio have?

Hey everybody quick question my zorro I’m trying to select multi on my internal Ed but I only get one option which is like csrf
Is your Zorro an ExpressLRS or multi protocol version?

If you see Module V1.3.3.20 AERT or something similar you have a multi protocol version.
Or 250 Hz 2 Err or something similar you have an ExpressLRS version.

Im trying to do exactly this now to be able to bind with frsky archer plus gr6 but now the multimodule website also gives you an option to choose ”firmware type” and for the lastest version the types i can choose is air, surface and EU LBT. I know that eu lbt wont work with some of my reveivers. My zorro came with eu lbt and i had to change to FCC to make it work. Dont see FCC in the list now though. Any ideas?
You cannot bind the newer FrSky receivers to the multi protocol module.
@@the-happy-RC-flyer thats wierd because i just updated to the newest firmware on the multimodule and have been happily flying the new frsky archer for 2 days now🤣 youre misinformed.

when i try to update my internal modul it says "FW update error- no snyc". Also i get no ifo anymore about my internal modul, aswell as saying "no telemetry" in the modul. Do you have ann idea how i could revive this module somehow? great vid btw
I think you should update the firmware again and make sure you select the correct version for your module.
Thank you sir! I have used the Radiomaster Zorro 4in1 to bind to my eachine mini's, but I can't seem to get it to bind to my AK A160 using the KN protocol even though many others seem to do it no problem. Don't know if you have any ideas or helpful tips, but thank you nonetheless!
Hi Roland, if KN is the correct protocol then it must be your binding procedure make sure the receiver is going into bind mode first before selecting bind in your Zorro.
is an internal module swap possible ? i have accidently bought the radiomaster cc2500 version . i bought the external modul with a 4 in 1 chip (iRX4 Lite) . can this be swapped out to the internal chip ? i also use crossfire as external modul .
Not that I am aware of. Can you return the radio to swop it for a 4 in 1 version?
Hi i just got a radiomaster boxer 4in1 and i'm having problems with it. First it doesn't have all the options in the internal RF, i tried to flash the multiprotocol firmware but when i put it in the firmware folder and try to enter through the controller it's not there. I saw on the internet that someone had the same problem as me (not all protocols are available) and they fixed it by flashing the firmware for Radiomaster Zorro. I tried that too, but again the controller does not load the firmware file.
I need frsky D8 protocol for some planes and Elrs for drones. Elrs is on the module and it works normally. While I have the option frsky x and frsky x2, but there is no D8 and D16. If I had those options it wouldn't be a big problem because I only needed them, but I only have a couple of protocols offered, of which they weren't offered.
If you have a Boxer with an internal 4 in 1 module you need to select this firmware. If you cannot see the firmware placed on the SDCard make the file name less characters. You say Express LRS is working I assume you have an external Express LRS module.

It sounds like you do not have the 4 in 1 but the CC2500 which has less protocols. What protocols are you missing? If they are FrSky please check under Subtypes for the different protocols.
@@the-happy-RC-flyer When I select multi for internal RF, the first thing that pops out is FlySky, and when I start browsing the types it disappears and I can't see it again. I only have: Config, BayanRX, DSM , DSM_RX , FS2A_RX , FrSkyRX , FrSkyX, FrSkyX2 and HoTT. I'm currently using an external elrs module for drones and I need a D8 and D16 FrSky for airplanes and those options aren't in any of the subtitles.
It looks like you have the internal module the CC2500. If you need D8 or 16 select FrSkyX or FrSkyX2 then move down to subtypes and select the protocol you need.

I got my 4in1 RM Zorro last week, and I have a problem with my DSM receivers, I have various dsm2, also dsmx, and from different companies such as lemon rx, spectrum and orange. All of these can be bound, but all of them have the range very small, there is no fine tuning either. 10 -15 meters and then it's over.😠
What i am doing wrong????please Help!!!!!
i have also FRSKY RX .They work fine.

Teddy are you losing connection, failsafe, or telemetry? It does appear some DSM receivers unless the state long range telemetry will give telemetry warnings very early. Pascallanger suggests you ignore the warnings or disable the audible warnings on your radio. Make sure you do not have the low power option checked under the receiver options. If you are connected do a on the ground range check.

A bought the Radiomaster Zorro and initially I was having g trouble binding. Then once I got several of my drones binded, I realized that the sticks and other functions were backwards (inverted). Even in the simulator the sticks are all out of sink. Can you help?
Hi Terry, just change your weights in mixes to -100 or 100 to reverse the throws.

Hi. I seem to of lost my external module option in my settings while doing updates, if I follow your instructions will i get it back, the reason this happened is because I was trying to load my bin model files from my old model bin files from a copy of my opentx SD card I copied to my computer, I cannot plug my old x- lite radio into my computer because I broke the usb connector this is why I purchased the Zorro, been trying to get edgetx to recognise bin files and cannot convert them into the new file type.
You may have bricked your radio. If you radio has the multi protocol module try flashing it again. Just check you do not have the ExpressLRS version.
@@the-happy-RC-flyer no, did not brick my radio, just down loaded the firmware again and it's fine, still not worked out how to get my old models on seems as I can't connect my old radio

I have tried to flash the internal Module per your advice, I am getting the following error:
"FW update error
device not responding
[exit] "
I then have to press the power button to get any response out of the controller.
I originally thought I had the elrs version so i tried to flash elrs onto it, ive since deleted everything Ive added to the sd card and used the factory dump provided by radiomaster. however when I try to bind to my tinyhawks or other kwads it now just keeps beeping trying to bind and never successfully gets telemetry/binds.
Scott, firstly you need to make sure you have flashed the correct firmware to the module in your radio. If you see multiple options under bind in the model settings you have the multi protocol module. If you cannot bind you are choosing the incorrect protocol. If you have a FrSky receiver in your drone you have different protocol options to chose from, which receiver is in your model?

@@scottnetphoto You need to use Type FrSky X Subtype D8 and then fine frequency tune. Search my playlist to find a video to complete the fine frequency tune process.
@@the-happy-RC-flyer even though before this issue with my controller I had it bound/flying with no isues on FRsky d8...? the issue with binding is ill press [bnd] on the controller and it just keeps beeping and never binds, ive tried a friends controller and he can bind to the tinyhawk with no problems, so it seems its definitley my Zorro.
Radiomaster has replied to my email now and theyre suggesting I send it back to china (as im in Canada and there are no technicians in my area). They think Ive "bricked" by internal module.
Again Im very new to FPV drones/kwads and all this firmware stuff...

Frankie, apologies for the slow reply. I think you require D8 so select FrSky X and subtype D8.

@@the-happy-RC-flyer can you do the modes and switch changes in beta flight instead of doing it on the radiomaster Zorro controller?
@@diggsit69 you will need to set up both in Betaflight and your radio. Flight modes on your Zorro are not necessary but you would have a visual key on your radio showing if you are armed or not. EdgeTX/OpenTX flight modes come into play when using them in conjunction with Global Variables in fixed wings. You can set up different aileron throws for different modes which automatically change when you flick your mode switch.
@@the-happy-RC-flyer I noticed when I bind my radio master Zorro to my tiny hawk 2 an freestyle drones and now my BetaFpv controller is not binded to them anymore, do I have to rebind every time I use a different controller for my drones? I thought once they were binded to the controller they stayed setup an ready to fly?
