Thanks for the video tutorials Bill. When setting your Zorro 4in1 profile and Default Channel Order, you called out AETR but selected AERT from the menu.
Thanks for your informative You Tube. It is now March 2023....could you tell me if they have yet updated the software on EdgeTX Companion to allow for firmware updates to the radio via the software?
Dear Bill, thank you very much for this video, it's very good. I want to buy a Radiomaster Zorro 4in1 and most of them are offered as FCC, but I need to have EU LBT. I've downloaded the latest firmwares for FCC and EU LBT directly from Radiomaster's homepage , but how can I flash different firmwares FCC or EU LBT or change from one to another? The firmware folders from Radiomaster's homepage also contain a folder named SD card, do I have to flash that folder too and if so, what to flash first , firmware or SD card? And there's also multi-protocol, which obviously contains both FCC and EU LBT and even a LUA-folder. And there's also EdgeTX companion and an SD card update function. I'm completely confused now. If I understand it right, then EdgeTX is the operating system and is independent from FCC, EU LBT or multi-protocol. But what to flash in which order? Thank you very much and have a nice day. Best regards, Markus.
Hi Markus, with the Multi Protocol Module you have one firmware option which allows you to have both FCC and LBT. You will need to flash your receivers with the correct firmware I would assume you already have receivers for the EU region. As for your radios firmware just update to the latest version if you are comfortable doing so.
Bill is there a tutorial on how to download the appropriate files for the radio in this case a Zorro 4 in 1, so that when using the EdgeTX companion the files are already loaded so that we can work with them?
The radio profile tells EdgeTX Companion which radio you have and what options you require when you download the latest firmware. EdgeTX is not using that function at the moment and I am not sure if the devs will go that route or stick with the EdgeTX buddy online updating system. You do also need the profile to be able connect to your Zorro to back up your radio and model settings which I highly recommend you do so. Making the profile will not back up your radio you will need to click the correct icon to do so.
@@the-happy-RC-flyer Thx for the answer. I have a Radiomaster TX16S, and want to save my radio settings, like all my mixes and so on. I believe when i backup my models, this part is not included in the backup? If for some reason I have to restore the radio, i have to manually type in all of the inputs, mixes and outputs, and all of the other radio settings from scratch?
Sorry Bill. I didn't know you had an Edgetx video. When I copied the Edgetx over to my SD card. I deselected Models, Images, and radio so they would remain when Edge TX is copied over. Yet I lost all my models. Is there anything I can do?
Hi. i am at my wits end with this radio, i broke the usb connector on my old x-lite pro, so i purchased the zorro, backed up my old sd card contents to the computer, the radio came installed with 2.70, i updated to 2.7.1, i have tried to get it to recognise my old model bin files but it will not, how am i ment to convert these to the newer ymal files? so i can access my saved models? Thanks and look forward to a reply.
You would have difficulty transferring the models because of the different file format and the radio switches are different. I manually put my models in to my radios, good practice for programming your radio.
@@the-happy-RC-flyer I am trying not to set my models up from scratch which I am totally capable of, just want a short cut from the Hassel of doing it.
If you had used OpenTX_Companion to backup your models and saved your setup (to a file named "document1.otx" for example) you can import this file into EdgeTX_Companion (open "document1.otx" in the File Menu) and save it under "etx" file extension format. ETX_Companion will convert for you all your modelxx.bin to modelxx.yml format and you won't even have to rebind the receivers. Problem is the switches are different so you will have to check and modify your setup for each model but this is easier than starting from scratch. Another "not minor" problem is the LCD display resolution is also different between the radios and the conversion is not perfect, you might have difficulty reading the Zorro screen. I hope that somebody else will find another better way to convert the .bin files to .yml files
Very excellent instruction Bill. I’m gaining knowledge and understanding thanks to your great instruction!
Thank you kindly.
Thank You. I was able to update and learn a lot Bill
You are very welcome Len.

If I did I set my radios to AETR. Would have been a scrolling error. Just select the mapping you are using normally it was set on the production line.

No not yet.

Jerry to you compile the EdgeTX SDCard contents using the EdgeTX Flasher application? Which radio did you convert?
