What an amazing comment. Bravo the human race has peaked
Yes
How did u make the engines look like that? The thrust out the back? Which mod?

Rapid unscheduled disassembly: the video
Or “How Not to Land an Orbital Starship”
Catastrophic
Rapid
Unplanned/Unscheduled
Disassembly
(not my joke, someone said it on the KSP subreddit a few years ago)
@@HeidenLam I'm anticipating that video from SpaceX...
Matt Lowne is playing real life in ksp, Elon Musk is playing ksp in real life
I was hundredth like.
Im the z137 the like
Matt musk Elon Lowne
chicken and the egg
Looks like SpaceX implemented such a nice SAS algorithm
This is as funny as " How not to land an orbital rocket booster" . Elon should do a starship version
After the first crewed starship land
How not to land an interplanetary class spaceship
Matt is a consistent source of "oh boy 3am" moments for me. And I wouldn't have it any other way

Matt doesn't know the difference between sea-level and ground level confirmed?

Yes
the touchdown was so smooth and it go boom
"Nonetheless I was satisfied with the result of the SN6 and 7 and obviously all other previous star ships that came before them"...
Didn't we just watch all those SN's die miserably apart from SN6 and 7 who also crashed spectacularly?

0:01 you made me died laughing
Matt, have you looked at FMRS? it encompasses your method of quicksaving and loading for landing boosters, but allows you to recover the boosters too, by adding the seperated booster back to the main save after landing.
He pretty much always mentions it whenever he does a video like that. He says that he wants to keep the missions stock
So that's what you and the bois where doing on VC
12:29 We can never forget that patreon“M”
Whenever i do vertical propulsion landings i set SAS to radial out and then you can make fine adjustments using wasd to cancel out any horisontal velocity
Theorie: Matt's arm got hurt some time ago because he was in a starship explosion...

Musk is still on rookie numbers then 😁
@Aiden McCrillis I've lost count of how many SNs I've tried to fly...
Dude…wow.
*DISGUSTED*
Guys we got there eventually.
This was awesome 😌 More like this please! I love behind the scenes stuff so much 😌
Commentator: “you don’t pressure Matt”
Also commentator: “you better do this Matt!”
Use radial out when close to the ground and at low speeds to keep the vehicle upright!
Don’t tell Matt: tell poor old Elon.
I really enjoyed this. Getting to see the behind the scenes and testing of the rocket gave me a nice planet coaster vibe. Still miss watching those.
That looks fun
A Matt Lowne video will NEVER get old!
but your a sfs youtuber
Gotta love being an hour late cause your body decided that it wanted 9 hours of sleep and you're still tired when you wake up
Every bit of this, from the music to the tests and commentary 👏 love it.
This was one of the better videos you have made imo, if you ever create a rocket like this again i’d love to see the same type of video again.
When you are coming in to land, click Radial Out instead of Stability Assist. It’ll keep it upright and you’ll still be able to control it
had to laugh so hard when i saw the title thank you! Also i love four seasons, perfect background music.
Lowne aerospace is doing well under the control of this Mattlad
5:04 “SN:17 hit the ground to hard”
I loved the change of format for this video. I thought it was really well done
So you finally reached the milestone of 420k subs, congrats! ^^
Well, it was a ton of fun to watch it live.
Matt, I LOVE your videos. There is something I was wondering. Can you maybe try building a death star? (Not to scale of course, that's ludicrous.) I'm not demanding that, not at all. I was just wondering. And o truly do love your videos!
I tried making a starship recreation, but yours look so much insanely better.
Ah yes, the best youtuber is ready to lose his mind
pro-tip, switch stability assist/retrograde for radial out when you are below 100 m/s. That way, if you kill your velocity too early, you won't translate as much and it will be easier to recover. You can also kill translation with rcs in docking mode while pointed radial out.
Yay a nice video to watch while eating dinner
Ayyyyy I join matt discord server I got a notification 1 second before youtube join matts discord server😁😁
i love that the Prototype faze is its own video xD that explains a lot
Please keep speed running the space race. It is my favorite series!
This is waay more fun than i thought 😅
"The brave victe-I mean brave pilots are on board"
Sus
I came back to this video to see that your SN25 made a 99% Orbital Flight Test só maybe Starship 25 and Booster 9 will work as well!
I love hearing you rag on space x
It was a fun video. Would watch again
The physics in KSP is so good. Those prototypes flew, fell, crashed, and landed almost identical to the real life Starship prototypes.
oh this is gonna be fun to watch :D
Love the 9th symphony at the beginning
I'm convinced one day that Matt will make a space station the size of the mun
i was there! on discord when you streamed this.
Make a giant space station with only sstos, space shuttles and starships
This is a visual representation of me trying to do homework when my dad is screaming what's 4x7
10:50 Osama: I have an idea!
ajahah so many booms! have you ever considered using the joints mod that makes them stronger?
awesome!! i can ask which mod have you installed ? thank you!
Did you noticed he said the Jorge Lukas' meme frase : its like poetry it rimes?
I use my rudder pedals for my flight Sims to control my rear flaps and use the pitch commands to control the nose cone fins. I've been bale to glide it and begin to fly hopefully will start my own ksp channel soon 😂
You should have an Elon Kerman test pilot :)
9:43 explosion 💥 again
Make a video creating a giant doace station with starship with skylab size modules, given that they have a perfect weight for the starship and it's volum fits perfectly
5:50 me who was in the discord vc during testing: "did it though?"
Typical awesome Matt LowneX video !
Hello Matt, I'm a French who see a lot of your video, can you explain what you use for the downpart of the shellstarship? If you have mods or a case in the option of ksp to turn on? Thank you for the answer
Radial out as you approach the ground is a much safer way to land pointing straight up. Even helps when you accidentally start going up again.
the way he said
-our crew survived ''
-but sn10's crew didn't''
-you couldn't argue that they didn't had a crew"'
Everyone gangsta until Matt does 29 starships
Log:
SN01 - SN05: Immediate explosion
SN06 - SN07: Launch was successful but touched down a little bit hard when landing
SN08: Refused to get off the launch pad
SN09 - SN11: Launch was successful but inappropriate vertical landing
SN12: Successful vertical takeoff and landing
SN13: Inappropriate vertical landing
SN14: Touched down a little bit hard when landing
SN15: Did a flip
SN16 - SN17: Touched down a little bit too hard
SN18: Incorrect approach, tilted and exploded
SN19: Lost velocity and landed a bit too hard
SN20 - SN21: Inappropriate vertical landing
SN22: Successful vertical takeoff and landing with suspense provided by the audience
SN23 - SN24: Touched down a little bit hard (this time with crew)
SN25 (Mounted on Superheavy): Lost velocity multiple times and crew had to eject
SN26: Touched down a little bit too hard and had crashed onto the headquarters
SN27: Touched down a little bit too hard
SN28: Looked fine at first but then toppled because of the bouncy landing legs' recoil
SN29: First successful hopped attempt with crew
please take note I don't play KSP and I'm just casually commenting on this video :)
you should try using the radial up for descent after you havve killed all of the horizontal velocity
Matt you should install RSS RO RP1. It would be great to see you just relearn the game again.
The brave victims- I mean, brave p-pilots!
The brave victe-I mean brave pilots are on board" - Good save.
383 also matt you need to do pre flight tests like static fire cryo proof test ambient pressure tests you also need alot more prototypes and i mean alot more you also need test tanks a tank farm construction site making parts and rings and engines separately like at another location and then bring them like with a car or truck and then stack the parts if you can in game hopefully and have aborts and more but nonetheless you did good
I love the vivaldi winter!
You should try using radial out. It really helps with the landings.
i just realized that matt has 420k subs, noice
Do u edit then do the VO or VO first then edit to the VO?
I was in the discord call near the end explaining the disasters of the 5 wheeled rover due to lack of symetry
It's starship time i guess
The ocean is pretty flat 9:00
Also, Matt, Do you use the stock waterfall configs?
Idea for next video is doing the Artimis mission including the lgss and the sls even tho they aren't real yet
SLS is real already
Indeed. Matt has surly lost his mind.
Now you just gotta do this in ksp2
sn1 : boom!,
after that I have high hopes
Could you make a video how to install add-ons and mods?
Thanks for all the videos!
The death pogo stick. As soon as the landing gear compresses good bye rocket.
When you're at very low speed in the hover, use radial out instead of just stability or retrograde. Saves a lot of RUD ;)
6:27 starship explosion 💥
Sn 12 got perfect landing
Sub 1 min arrival! Wooot hello from the stubborn USA
I’m thinking about adding more landing gears to the ship which I think might give it a greater chance lol (imagine what people would’ve said if they saw the whole spaceship coming down to blow them up 10:48 lol) there must be a dozen craters left after the spaceship crashing and a few deaths not counting the astronauts because there might be a few people in the building while pieces of metal hit them in the face from the rocket i’m not telling you what happens if you add too much landing gears
If you add too much land gears you’ll fly back into space by bouncing and fall back to earth not on the landing gear then explode
nice vid
Ngl I enjoyed this video more than the actual video lol
I love how he said around the world tens of people watching him 7:37
Why is this my favorite video.
So what are the engine you are using for it also what mod for the exhaust if you are using one
The ship needs more power so it can slow down more efficiently at landing
funny how this got recommended to me TODAY.
do more of this
one of the reasons why radial out button is important when landing something vertically
It would be cool if he streamed all videos on discord so we would get a live audience reaction during critical moments
Matt, Can you upload the montage with Overture 1815 (cannon section) playing as the background?
You should make a vid about u will going to DNA (Mars) with your starship
Huh SN25 as an orbital flight... Interesting
