Curtis... Every yeti review I watched you came in... You inspired me and helped me out because i wanted to look professional for UA-cam. Well... Almost happy new year and a lucky life.
hey i make vlog/rants type videos and I use my sony NEX 5 or something like that(i forgot the name lol) and i want better audio. the only mic I have is a yeti so can i record with my camera with the blue yeti and my macbook air or should I get a new mic or if i can how do you do it? notes: i have final cut pro x, my camera doesnt have a jack so it cant have any mics on it, check my recent video to see what types of videos i do. thanks someone please help me!
I have a Blue Yeti mic as well. Not the pro, but the original, (standard?) one... LOVE IT!!! The only bad thing about it is that it's not easily portable, but it's still a dang good mic!
Unfortunately, the majority of people asking for the major difference between the Yeti & the Yeti Pro, I can't respond to. Ugh. Anyways, the main difference is in resolution: The Yeti records (at a maximum) 48 kHz/16 bit, whereas the Pro records at 192 kHz/24 bit. That's a helluva jump in quality.
not sure if i'd even use the extra feature they added but i love the way this one looks compared to the normal one, but bit much just for one extra thing.
I'm guessing the sound will also sound a lot clearer when there is a popfilter? Because in this awesome video I could hear a background noise through the entire video, which was just the sound from the room he was in, but I'm guessing that with the popfilter that noise will be gone? :)
I heard buzzing through the whole of that video, I can only assume that the 2 mics connected at the same time was sucking some power and reflected in that video.
The Samson is warmer, more low mids, while the Yeti has more sparkle, less low mids, and i noticed a bit of humm once you changed from the Samson to the Yeti. Perhaps the Yeti has a slightly more "digital" sound then the Samson, but that is not necessarily going to translate to "bad", if you use it for vocal tracks.
It sounds amazing. And the fact that it's packet with so many features is awesome. I'm going to buy it soon enough, it will go well with my Sennheiser Headset since the headset itself does not have a volume controller on it.
NIce video man..But there is a buzzing noise.when you switched to the built-in microphone the buzzing went away..Just a heads up..sounds like current.I subbed and liked :)
i have an important question, i use the blue snowball microphone as my primary desktop microphone, how would you say it compares in terms of overall quality, and is it really worth the upgrade? like a major difference in the audio quality.
@zmallic I heard the humming sound, too. My guess would be that, because the Blue microphone is more sensitive, it's picking up some sort of noise from the room. I've noticed a similar thing with high quality headphones: any distortion and noise is more noticeable when using them to listen to audio. That's why, with mics, pros tend to use pop filters, and similar things that help you get a good quality sound without picking up things you don't want recorded.
Nice review man! Say would this thing work well with micin up guitars and amps? I have yet to see a review for that sort of thing. I really wanna get into recording my songs with real amps instead of using podfarm and a line 6 ux2 :) Anyways again, really nice review.
I'm making music with this. Probably using USB and then upgrading and getting an AudioBox to plug it into. Should I do this or save for a Rode NT1A for making music?
Hey there I just got mine yesterday and I wonder if I keep my yeti pro on my desk all the time, will it get dusty and get damaged from dust? If the answer is yes, is there a way to protect or clean it?
Samson C03 FTW you have a richer sound coming from the yeti wow i'm impressed with that one and the fact that it's that portable i am impressed with it very nice! i think this just helped change my opinion of those mics I have the C03 myself and it's always done a really good job for me in the past but I am honestly impressed with this one now too. very nice!
is it worth buying for using it on a laptop that has an integrated audio card ? I want to record voice over some video reviews that I post on my chanel.
You voice and this mic do go hand in hand, but what's up with the hum? Hard for me to get over that hum. Is that you Mac or a low noise hum from the mic?
yes the standard yeti records at 48khz.16 bit and the yeti pro is 192khz.24 bit.. pro has xlr output as well as usb.. amongst a few other things but those are the most important differences
hello and excuse my ignorance. i want to ask if sound quality does get worse if i use an xlr cable and connect the mic to my amp. it's my first time buying a mic (i need it mostly for home recording sessions) and my savings only allow a very successful first choice!
Okay soldier, you have to start linking the websites to the things you review or unbox in the description box, thats why you review things right? so people will buy them?
With the BlueMic, the bass picks up alot of noise from the computer fans plus Only get the pro if your going to use the XLR if not then the normal BlueYeti will do fine at $200 I believe
this mic is AWESOME!! If you guys search a few more reviews and test on this product you will hear the difference. especially recording music. the PRO Version just has the option to connect to an amp and do proper recording on your 8 or 16 track. the normal blue yeti mic sounds the same but makes a huge price cut. if you wont be doing any proper recording on an 16 track, you don't need to spend to much.
PLEASE I NEED HELP. I'm trying to make a video like yours, but I don't have a USB Webcam, I only have the in built one on my iMac. Do I need to get a USB Webcam to do so?
It's hard to really evaluate the sound of a mic when the sound is being played back on computer speakers. Sounds much better with studio headphones, but most people don't listen to their computer with headphones. oh, and another factor -- youtube compresses the sound & video. So you'd need a downloadable sound file to fairly compare the sound.
Hey solider man! You do great reviews!!! Can you tell me is there something better on the market than yeti mic on usb? I mean the same price range but even better quality than yeti? Best wishes and happy Christmas! Peace!!!
quite frankly i would go for the regular yeti, this mic is more built for podcasting and music, stuff you can adjust the levels not in post. The regular yeti is just a usb mic and is a to the point mic to be used in stuff like commentary.
Been looking at the Apogee Mic and Yeti but have found very little comparing the two. Will be using with the ipad mini for music. Has anybody had experience with the two, and if so, which did you prefer?
Dave Glass this is exactly what I was searching for. I own an apogee and LOVE IT. but was considering the blue yeti for two person interviews since the mic has an omni directional option which the apogee does not. The apogee is great for recording instruments and vocals for a single person.
Very good review! I used the EV RE20 for years in commercial broadcasting so I'm hoping to get similar performance from the Blue Yeti Pro; ordered mine today from B&H.
You kinda played mary had a little lamb wrong... The first and second notes are whole steps, not half steps. Try shifting what you are playing by 1 white key lower. Unless you arent trying to play that song... anyways, great review as always, soldier!
@SoilderkKnowsBest Not sure if you already know but google+ is out. One question though, I tried to sign up but it says I'm too young. Do you know if you have to be over 18 to join even though its out of beta. Thanks
my friend has this mic and it sounds crisp and clear. however i don't really like the limited range that this mic has. IMO it kinda isn't worth it for the price. I prefer mxl mics like the mxl 3000 and 4000 because of their range and you get a way better deal for the price.
Very professional and informative review. I especially liked the demonstrations of various mics. Keep up the good work.
Curtis... Every yeti review I watched you came in... You inspired me and helped me out because i wanted to look professional for UA-cam. Well... Almost happy new year and a lucky life.
Wow, that's really good! Thanks for another great review video. Which pickup pattern were you using with the Blue Yeti?
Awesome review man! I just got the mic love it
well done, I'm looking at this mic since the price dropped - thanks for all the comparisons!
hey i make vlog/rants type videos and I use my sony NEX 5 or something like that(i forgot the name lol) and i want better audio. the only mic I have is a yeti so can i record with my camera with the blue yeti and my macbook air or should I get a new mic or if i can how do you do it? notes: i have final cut pro x, my camera doesnt have a jack so it cant have any mics on it, check my recent video to see what types of videos i do. thanks someone please help me!

Just bought the Blue Yeti Pro based on your review. I'm not disappointed. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the review, we will be picking up one this week for podcasting!
Stefano Pavone That feature won me over. xD
not sure if i'd even use the extra feature they added but i love the way this one looks compared to the normal one, but bit much just for one extra thing.
best channel for quality product.
so soldier go. will wait for your next video.
DEFINETLY getting me one of these. Thanks bro! They're on sale until Jul 14th on amazon!
Your videos are so amazing, seriously, amazing.
Higher recording bitrate & sample rate and XLR connection for the Pro. Also a little known fact about 12DB lower gain in USB mode (the one bad thing)
I'm guessing the sound will also sound a lot clearer when there is a popfilter? Because in this awesome video I could hear a background noise through the entire video, which was just the sound from the room he was in, but I'm guessing that with the popfilter that noise will be gone? :)

The sound of the voice is very neat. Great Microphone
It sounds amazing. And the fact that it's packet with so many features is awesome. I'm going to buy it soon enough, it will go well with my Sennheiser Headset since the headset itself does not have a volume controller on it.
Excellent video. Would be great if you could compare Yeti and Rode Podcatser
The Pro has XLR out, which is more of a professional connector for studios and such. The pro also has a faster sample rate.
The Mic sounded great, looking into buying one very soon!
NIce video man..But there is a buzzing noise.when you switched to the built-in microphone the buzzing went away..Just a heads up..sounds like current.I subbed and liked :)
woow i was just watching some of his first videos.........he has come a long way
Getting this for Christmas - I can hardly wait! :D

thats what im wondering im having a hard time deciding
I ended up buying it, great buy in my opinion.
I'm going to get this Mic for Christmas - I can barely wait :D
I'm trying to know things myself. What do you reckon would happen if your RAM was below the required amount for the Yeti Pro?
Hey there I just got mine yesterday and I wonder if I keep my yeti pro on my desk all the time, will it get dusty and get damaged from dust? If the answer is yes, is there a way to protect or clean it?
can you do a review of the new PS3 Stereo Wireless Headset? I know there are a few reviews out there but you make the best reviews.
Like, if your computer can't keep up with the microphone or have the power in general to handle the quality? Would it crackle, etc?
mark, your voice sounds awesome in you new microphone
Very nice review ! - Going for the blue yeti pro
+Fragrance Tattoo definitely
Does this mike have software that changes the sound of your voice? High pitch low pitch etc?
are there cases or things that u could use to charge your laptop or double its battery life
Mark, Dont you need to install Drivers to work the Blue microphone
would you recommend this mic for animation voiceovers? or would the blue condenser mic be better
@FormlaGamer123 Yeah what's up with that buzzing/humming?
What about the original Yeti? Is the quality much worse?
So if I'm playing a video game (on the Xbox 360 or PS3), and have my headphones plugged into the mic itself do I hear the gameplay and myself?
hello and excuse my ignorance. i want to ask if sound quality does get worse if i use an xlr cable and connect the mic to my amp. it's my first time buying a mic (i need it mostly for home recording sessions) and my savings only allow a very successful first choice!
Okay soldier, you have to start linking the websites to the things you review or unbox in the description box, thats why you review things right? so people will buy them?
I got the blue yeti and I have it upside down will that effect the quality and its about 1 ft away from my mouth no pop filter
With the BlueMic, the bass picks up alot of noise from the computer fans plus Only get the pro if your going to use the XLR if not then the normal BlueYeti will do fine at $200 I believe

@theds102 240p-ish? Are you kiding lol? It sounds great in my opinion.

I recently got a blue snowball for my black ops videos, its pretty good
Excellent review, offered way more than the musicsiansfriend description.
@D3master4 Likely the Mac or some other kind of background noise - the mic doesn't have this hum.
Did you use a USB connection for this video or Slr? and would the audio quality be different between the two?
Would you recommend this microphone or the normal Blue Yeti for me (I make Photoshop tutorials)?
I like the mic and the review. Thanks again.
can it be remove from that stand? and put it on another stand with pop filter?
which software for my computer should I buy to edit/mix the recorded sounds in one song ? Thanks for the video!
@SoldierKnowsBest Showed up in my sub box. :D I was waiting for you to review this too haha.
definitely getting this microphone
@smartalic5 actually,I'm using Dr Dre Beats,
and I hear a slight very low dong sound in both of the microphones.
There's a hum in the back ground.. what's up? Is that the PC power supply motor?
Is it worth the upgrade from the original Yeti?
What software do you use to record video with your Logitech C910 ?
Hey solider man! You do great reviews!!! Can you tell me is there something better on the market than yeti mic on usb? I mean the same price range but even better quality than yeti? Best wishes and happy Christmas! Peace!!!
@AwesomeRaffi27 Yes, how does he otherwise has that amount of money to buy these stuff?
do you have a mac or pc? If mac, (logic) is really great!
if pc (studio one) is good as well!
awesome review! ... and a good radio voice also haha
@ochristi Why don't you just ship direct from the Amazon U.S. providing there are no huge import tax restrictions.
Nice video and good review, very helpful.
Is it good for recoding gaming commentaries?
Would you recommend the mic to use for Home Studio Recording?
Is the humming sound coming from the computer's cooling fan or your apartment's AC?
mark, are u going to start using the yeti now?
will blue yeti pick up my keyboard when I type I got a razer black widow
quite frankly i would go for the regular yeti, this mic is more built for podcasting and music, stuff you can adjust the levels not in post. The regular yeti is just a usb mic and is a to the point mic to be used in stuff like commentary.
What is the best mic to buy at a price ranging from 30-50 dollars? Please help.
what's the difference between the pro and regular one?
Been looking at the Apogee Mic and Yeti but have found very little comparing the two. Will be using with the ipad mini for music. Has anybody had experience with the two, and if so, which did you prefer?
try the blue spark digital
Dave Glass this is exactly what I was searching for. I own an apogee and LOVE IT. but was considering the blue yeti for two person interviews since the mic has an omni directional option which the apogee does not. The apogee is great for recording instruments and vocals for a single person.
I liked this review I'm never going to be able to afford this microphone but just watching you do a good review is good enough for me. No homo
Do you use a follow focus?
Very good review! I used the EV RE20 for years in commercial broadcasting so I'm hoping to get similar performance from the Blue Yeti Pro; ordered mine today from B&H.
Please respond! Should I buy blue yeti pro or just yeti?

@SoilderkKnowsBest Not sure if you already know but google+ is out. One question though, I tried to sign up but it says I'm too young. Do you know if you have to be over 18 to join even though its out of beta. Thanks
What did you use before? Please reply
SKB can you do a review on Logitech's z680's speakers? If you can thanks
please tell what the things you review costs
Very cool! Really great sound quality!
my friend has this mic and it sounds crisp and clear. however i don't really like the limited range that this mic has. IMO it kinda isn't worth it for the price. I prefer mxl mics like the mxl 3000 and 4000 because of their range and you get a way better deal for the price.
wow it sounds fantastic! so much more like CLEAR and REAL
great review, man.
it sounds very similar except there a slight hum in the background and sounds like the gain was to high.
Am I the only one here who noticed the background static made when he switched to the blue yeti?
I think that can be fixed with some of those dials on the mic itself, but I'm not positive..
you should have done a song cover at the end so we ladies can hear more of the warm soldier voice !
