Thanks for the great video. I never had this loot system in the mmo’s that I’ve played, so I wasn’t really sure how it works. In my first group, everyone was rolling need, so I just followed. I did the same in the second group, and took a shield that was very good for a tank. Guys were a bit frustrated, I ve explained what I knew, they’ve explained how it should be, and I agreed, it made sense. So I traded the shield. I got some items after in good faith, which I think was really cool from their part. So yeah, mutual respect can get you far
That is an interesting point, sometimes things change per group such as "everyone just need X", so you have to be a bit fluid with things, but it sounds like you handled the situation you explained well. Even sorting out loot issues is fun compared to playing games where you just queue for things and no one has to interact at all.
In pug groups most generally agree with your loot rules and they'll enforce them via party kick etc, but not all groups will even apply this thinking. Many guild groups will need all vs puggers and redistribute and it's up to you to decide if you want to roll with them or not. If you attempt to adhere to your honor rules for mob tagging and dps racing, you're only going to put yourself at a disadvantage when it comes to competing for spots. This is a PvX game and all resources are competitive. If you win the resource you come out ahead. The people getting the best XP or loot at the best spot in a POI typically had to fight for it, and they had to fight to maintain it. Doubly so when you enter lawless zones. If you want to be a nice guy and play by some code of ethics when it comes to competing for resources, you can do so, just don't be surprised if you find yourself getting squeezed out, especially with the population and mob density issues phase 2 has had.
i honestly think that's a big reason why they pushed for only 1 (now 2) US server and 1 EU server. they want to stress test not only the current systems, but our human behavior within those systems with scarce resources. i think playing the long game, following most of the suggestions i outlined will win out in the end, but lawless zones is a whole other factor i did not consider with this.
True! This is very much a "Paladin" take isn't it? I should make another version of this called, "I Choose Violence - A Guide to Inciting PvP Conflict"
You know, after playing solo on so many other mmos over the years, I've become super introverted and almost nervous to join groups. Recently, I joined The Federation on Lyneth and had my first "big" group in years, and it was a great experience... sure, I'm still taking it slow while leveling, but I'm not as nervous... Good video brother here's a comment for the algorithm.
thanks for the support dude! that's what is great about a game like this, is the fact that you have to interact with others to survive, and it ends up being a lot of fun because of it. it's rare to find a chill yet serious group that values both hardcore and casual players alike; FED has been pretty dope these past couple months.
You say don't don't don't... Hopes are really low, because all of these things are GOING TO BE ABUSED...Even though the game looks amazing! You know all of this is going to happen right.. If WoW has taught us anything. People hit NEED NEED NEED, and KILL KILL KILL. Either because they like to troll, or because they RMT. I hope the developers also work on methods against the inevitable thousands of bots that will show up, and CHEATERS! These problems are ruining online gaming! I'm losing hope in the industry to be honest, I hope ASHES is some how magically different...
Great points. I’m pretty hopeful for a few reasons. Agro issues are supposed to get fixed, they’re investing in live in game GMs, they already have plans to actively combat and shutdown RMT. Have been in the official discord or tried the alpha? Steven is very active in game and discord; it’s a true passion project.
Running mobs through a group of players to try and get them killed just sounds like harmless fun to me. That doesn't even make me a jerk, it's just a game.
If you were in a tough fight with your group and someone trained a bunch of mobs through and wiped you, I bet you’d be less than thrilled. 😂 I’m right aren’t I?

I'm really bad about just passing on everything. I don't really care that much about gear, but always need it.
i you need it need it man!

Caveat I would say with all your “donts”. Don’t do them, IF you don’t want pvp aggression. If you do, then go right ahead :)

@GiddeonPlays I wouldn't care. It's exciting that things like that can happen. It's gameplay/content.
You have an iron will then sir. 🫡 You’re gonna kill it in a social sandbox like Ashes.
And you sound like a fool to the majority of us, and?
@@michaellovatt3944 dude it's fine
