I think maybe the 'look ahead' can be before the clip of the month, so the video ends on a high/funny note. Glad to hear that you'll continue this format!
This format is just so good. Thank you for still providing us with the "updates". I definitely like the look ahead, to just get a feeling, if I "have to" focus my attention a bit more on age for the nexr month, because good stuff is coming up. For example NAC 5 I watched a lot more than usual.
I like the look ahead because I don't have time to keep up with everything so it's a good quick way to be updated. I'm also very glad this series is still going strong 😊
Nili you have done so much for the AOE2 fans out there. Enjoy your respite! Your wisdom and charm will be missed, but you have definitely left all the major players in a good place with fine memories. I look forward to seeing you pop in from time to time when you can't resist the urge.
Yes please nili for look ahead, makes sure we're aware of upcoming tournaments. Maybe it can just be a 10 second bit with a background of dates for S and A tier tournaments
I love these wtf happened videos. Please continue. I also enjoy the look ahead segment because then I get a chance to get a heads up for tournaments and such so I can clear my busy calendar for importent events.
Thank you so much nili for nearly a decade of AoE2 as a hippo lover. Take the time away that you need, but we all hope that you're able to come back at some point without the pressures of having to go full time again.
So happy you will still be doing these. The spoiler-free nature of past (and future) videos is much appreciated, this is pretty much my go-to for staying updated to date with what I want to keep an eye on and what I want to go back and watch.
I really like the look ahead. Like some already mentioned. It give a clear perspective where to focus the attention for us who can't be involved everyday.
My opinions: 1. Keep look ahead 2. Switch position with cotm; it feels smoother dramaturgically to end with some funny highlight Thanks for keeping up with this format!
im not a die hard follower of the scene cause of work, i basically have to pick what i can watrch, so the look ahead is really useful to know when the big stuff is happening. i basically just follow your wtf happend to keep up - look ahead really useful for me :)
Like many mentioned, I also like the look ahead quite a bit and it would be sad to have that scraped. I don't mind if at the end or if the clip of the month is at the end. I could see, like some mentioned, how more viewers stay till the end if it's before the clip of the month, but I assume it's just the case, that there are also many viewers that are well aware of the look ahead (and in some cases it's more obvious) who still like to see your pov on what happend and enjoy the clip of the month. While for them the look ahead isn't of that much value, the comments showed, it is for many of us.
Small thought: You could move “look ahead” to a different position in the list to rule out that it isn’t just people tuning out because the end of the video is approaching
I'm sure you already know this Nili, but after taking a substantial rest, you can always pick up where you left of with NAC 6. It's a hugely popular tournament, with a unique format. It's too good to die. What other tournaments can compare to NAC6 for it's uniqueness?
2:25 I will miss the team communication between Hera and Liereyy. These two are comedy gold 3:00 It maybe is a big surprise, but if we consider the horrible archer pathfinding (regrouping) and the fact that Liereyy is the best archer player... That is like if Daut cannot use the market or Hera loses his scouts. Both would not be the same. 5:25 Yeah NAC was a great final in order to end the streamer career. But I am happy that you will probably return, even with less hours. I think that todays look ahead just repeated the already mentioned information. (hidden cup) This topic would be useful when there are many events happening in the coming month, as a summary so to say.
I disagree with a couple of points. While Hera will not enjoy the game as much without scouts, I don't think his pure gameplay will suffer as much as lierreyy with archers..
Hera to GL has a clear business upside for both sides, but competetive 1v1 wise it is now less likely that Viper or Tatoh have unique and new strategies to surprise Hera, now that he is part of the Team while it seems pretty unlikely that they can match Hera in execution.
I think practicing with Hera a lot makes them more competetive against him. They get a better feel of how to play against him. Best example is TaToH who has Viper's number in the last year or so.
@@micheleeichstetter4627 usually familiarity is better for mechanically better player. my hottake is that Tatoh has been better than viper for over a year now but bc of his lower position he has had tougher brackets.
With monthly Wtf-happened I think a look ahead isn't too important, but if you start posting them with less regularity after stepping back from aoe2 then I think a look ahead is very nice to have.
The thing for me with look ahead is that it sometimes feel redundant. Either because it contains information I already know through other means, or, in this case, because the topic was already covered in the same video. You already talked about hidden cups, and when it's going to happen and the look ahead was just 'hidden cup is going to happen'.
@@NiliAoE2 no you just announced a break. Take care of yourself. You've done an amazing job helping Shepard aoe2 fans along with the "what's happenings" for years. And then when you are back I can make a template Google slide and you can just fill it in each month with what you already know. If youd like. If it's even in the plan. If not ignore and enjoy life!
"long intense break is needed" - but Nili, that's not a break if it's intense! Just kidding, go ahead, take your time off in whatever form you desire. You've been going at AoE 2 really hard for many years in different aspects, often multiple at once. Doing something else for a while should definitely help you recover and gain freshness of mind. I don't know your situation well enough to give proper advice so feel free to ignore my rambling but what feels like a good idea to me would be revisiting something that you were interested in long years ago that you gave up on because of focusing on AoE 2. Whether it be sports, hobby like building models, some completely different game with good memories from childhood or even actual work - I know you have experience with teaching and that could be really cool, suddenly having to interact with very different "audience" would definitely bring a change of pace.
you mentioned in the interview with masmora that even though hidden cup is the biggest tournament in aoe sponsors are not very interested because the players identities are hidden. if players could be named after sponsors instead of in game characters it would be an obvious sell out but it might help.
The format of Look Ahead is good. Maybe put the Clip of the Month after Look Ahead (for viewer retention). It's a nice, easy-digestable bit to end the video with. edit: also: does you asking this mean you will keep making these monthly updates?
Memb was in a clan called fruit of the poisonous tree (fopt_membrillo) where everyone had a fruit name in their native language. Membrillo was eventually shortened to memb tv. Tatoh is short for roberto..
I like to see Hera be supported by GL and think it's a great plus. For teamgames it's a downer and I'm even a bit worried if they will grow as a team, even more if there are no competitive teams to really have to stick your heads together. What I really would have loved (clearly I have no clue about the terms and conditions), if GL made even two teams like Tyrant once did. GL Tyrant and GL aM - that would be awesome imo. At least I imagine it could be very viable to have the main social and streaming active guys be mainly supported, all other get the more imaterial benefits of expertise and the occasional offer for the gaming house, but no monthly payment, if that even is a thing.
So you think he should sacrifice his growth for some vague idea of "balance"? He can do a lot more things in GL. None of his teammates in aM were active content creators, even if they were good friends of his who he liked to play with (and that won't change). Hera's main public interactions have been with Viper for past few years. Now that they are together in the same team they will be able to work a lot more closely. GL isn't just a random sponsor, they actually put in effort into growing the community by organizing various events. Podcasts, speedrun map challenges etc. Hera wants to be a part of that too and it makes perfect sense to join GL. Some players are fine with just playing the game and not doing anything else but some people want to go further beyond with content creation. BTW you're either forgetting or unaware how Tyrant used to be way more dominant than GL will ever be and it had zero negative effect on quality of the games. If one team is too strong they can field multiple teams and keep things competitive. Not that teamgames were particularly important comapred to 1v1s in last years...
