I'm not surprised it took 3hrs to get that bearing out! I tend to forget that you're dealing with sea water and how corrosive it is. Good job getting it out in the end, no wonder the seal(s) had gone! Made a good job of cleaning up the bearing case. I agree with you in putting the new impeller in and keeping the old one as a good spare. Although not much corrosion on the inside of it, there was some. I have seen your reply on the previous comment, and looking at the condition of the back of the pump unit I think your wise in considering replacing the whole unit in the future. At least it gives you time to save up for the genuine one and time to prepare to 'attack' the corroded bolts! Glad it's all back & working. Good idea in putting the shut off valve in there! All this reminds me of the pond maintenance done here rather than to a boat engine! Look forward to the next video ;O)
That carrier has had a hard life, some quite big dings on the face of the seal! Good lob the limp mode saved the engine risers from melting their rubber couplers.

Yes certainly been badly maintained previously. I will probably replace the entire pump in the future. Thanks for watching
