2024 Winter Graduate Profile - Lt. Nathan Twito, U.S. Navy

Congratulations to U.S. Navy Lt. Nathan Twito, who will be graduating from NPS this Friday, March 29, through the Cyber Systems and Operations program from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
For his research, Twito focused on increasing maritime domain awareness in order to counter the global issue of illegal fishing operations while also advancing intelligence and reconnaissance capabilities to track illicit maritime activity. His solution involved the deployment of scalable commercial technology installed aboard partner fishing vessels, allowing authorities to automatically classify such vessels and identify those involved in illegal activities.
Twito and more than 200 of his fellow graduates will celebrate the completion of their NPS studies tomorrow, Friday, March 29, during the Winter Quarter Graduation ceremony at King Hall Auditorium. U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Michael Plehn, president of National Defense University, will serve as commencement speaker.
