    Reynhard Sinaga, aka Rey entered the world on February 19th, 1983, in Jambi, a bustling city on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. • @zeddeka
      @zeddeka 5 місяців тому +17

      Because it's ultimately not about the sex. It's about power and dominance. So many of them are trying to rewrite the powerlessness / inadequacy they felt when younger. Freud talked about "repetition compulsion" (also known as trauma reenactment) - people who've had some kind of traumatic event often find themselves, sometimes subconsciously, engaged in a compulsive addictive need to try and repeat an awful type of situation but with them as the "victors" this time. There is also another school of thought called the "low arousal" theory - that some offenders who probably suffer from genetic or physiological problems have such a low level of arousal in their day to day lives that they have to do extreme acts just to feel alive.

      There's some interesting psychology behind it. As someone with Bipolar, hypersexuality (formerly called nymphomania) can be hell. However, it doesn't normally cross into criminality for sufferers. Throw a comorbid personality disorder into the mix though, and it can often lead to law breaking sexual behaviour. Dr Seena Fazel has published some interesting papers on the subject.

    • @seulty

I only hung around him three times, one of those times he was making “cookies” for homeless people. He chuckled and gave his friend a weird smirk (which gave me chills) and said “I love making cookies for homeless people! We are going to hand them out later tonight”. I suspect he had laced the cookies with fluids or illegal substances. I never had proof of this but I trust my gut fully. This case is making me physically ill. Hits too close to home for me. My childhood GF had me join a band, singing for it, with her male drummer and male guitarist friend. One night she decided not to hang out with the 3 of us and not even an hour into me being alone with them, I started feeling dizzy and nauseous, like I had been drinking. I was only 18 and had only drank from the bottle of water one of the guys gave me. I immediately crawled to the bathroom to dry heave cuz I couldn't walk. I had been assaulted in the past so I was able to tell something was very off. I managed to crawl out the front door before they even noticed I was gone. I got out to the sidewalk and one came running out yelling," Bitch we're not done with you." I kept crawling across 4 major lanes of traffic till I got to a restaurant at the corner and called the only number I could remember, from a payphone. One of my H.S guy friends came and picked me up and drove me home. I'm 44 now and I still haven't gotten over what could have happened to me that night if I'd not already known to stay alert and pay attention. I saved myself that night but it made me even more cautious of who I let into my life. Especially when I discovered my childhood GF was in on it with these guys. That's why she didn't come with me that night.

      This was in England but when it comes to sex crimes, the US isn't much better, though in more recent years it has been taking them more seriously and giving people higher sentences. Back in the 90s when I was a teenager, they'd basically tell you it was your word against someone else's so there was nothing they could do. Even when my friend's father was convicted of sexually assaulting 4 of us- 3 minors and 1 18 year old- it was because he had taken pictures and he got ONE YEAR in jail. Not even prison.

One week, she hadn’t been in to work, and everyone started asking about her; turned out, she had severe mental health issues and murdered her mother after a fight during that week, then, I believe, stayed in the house with the corpse til they found her. Rapes are murders. Even if you survive you are never the same person again, that person doesn’t exist anymore. It’s interesting that even with men as the victims because the patriarchy has conditioned society and the world’s legal systems to so treat rape as a lesser crime; that this, likely world’s most prolific serial rape offender still didn’t get a life sentence for over 200 plus lives shattered.

    I really appreciate you bringing this story to light. I don't know how it is in the UK, but where I live, SA against men isn't something taken as seriously as it should be. SA is so horrific, and has such an awful effect on the victims. I can understand why some of these victims feel like they may have never wanted to know what happened to them. I truly hope all of them are healing now, and making strides to understand that what happened to them was only shameful on the part of the man who assaulted them; that they have done nothing wrong by being a victim. I know it is a long and arduous journey, but I wish those men the best in moving forward. I hope it gives them some semblance of peace that this monster is locked away from them.

    Dear god what a total creep. Thankfully our justice system punished him properly. I’ve taken ghb n only 4mls is enough to make you feel like you’ve taken e’s. I’ve also seen someone take more n he was totally unconscious, thankfully he was with friends who helped him as he was totally unconscious n sweaty for hours,he had no recollection of the event. My heart goes out to every 206 survivors of the horrific event. I cannot begin to know how they felt knowing what had happened to them with this predator. I’m a woman who’s experienced rape let’s say more than once, the trauma turned me into an addict for a few years. To be violated by someone of the same ex as you must be horrifying. I live in Scotland n knew nothing of Ray. Thank you Disturbin I always enjoy your uploads. It’s good finally seeing your face too, your voice is let’s say gripping as you tell us the horror reporting too.
