Yes this is so true. @bisscute please consider reacting to the original music video, because also the choir is all children from a London school. It’s really powerful voices
totally 5th 6th 7th that sentiment, no disrespect to this version but it's much much later in their career and its suits more being there live than on video, it doesn't come across close to expressing what the song is about and how good it was when it came out in 1979

Best live band ever and I have seen just about all of the greats since the 1960's. The PULSE concert is the benchmark and it's amazing to think that this performance was recorded in 1994.
This entire concert is a gem. Two from the same concert you might like are "Great Gig in the Sky" which features the three women backup singers. It's a short jazz-like piece and an incredible performance. Even more unique is "One of These Days". Dave Gilmore plays slide guitar on both songs.
It's basically a protest song about the standardized and sometimes propagandized education system that does not allow individualism and free thought. We are suppose to learn and follow the rule of society like everyone else, hence the term "all in all you're just another brick in the wall".

Happy New Year! It was actually about childhood and the teachers. The album is meant to be listened to all at once, as it makes up one story and how Pinky shut himself off from the world by building a figurative wall.
I totally agree. To make sense of these songs you have to know the context that they are played in. So listen to the full album to get a cohesive idea about what they mean. They cannot be taken in isolation.
Roger Waters wrote this song about his views on formal education, which were framed during his time at the Cambridgeshire School for Boys. He hated his grammar school teachers and felt they were more interested in keeping the kids quiet than teaching them.
I think some other people have said this before. So please excuse me for saying it again. The "brick in the wall" is the common person. Vitally important to keep the wall intact and strong. But often not acknowledged for their contribution. Some teachers get a bit full of themselves and alienate their pupils. This is the message of the song. Teachers leave them kids alone.
Hi! The second guitar solo was Tim Renwick who used to support Al Stewart and was originally in a band called Sutherland Brothers and Quiver. He toured as support guitar with the Floyd and Eric Clapton for years. He sometimes gets overlooked.
The term "Another Brick in the Wall" was a phrase used before biblical times. In general it is symbolic of describing a small part of the much larger whole. I believe the song is from the album/movie that is telling a story from the fictional singer named "Pink" and how he hated being subjected to being just another product and pushed through an institutional and cruel education system just to become another small part of society.
Money is far and away my favorite Pink Floyd tune. The entire album (Dark Side of the Moon) flows in chronological order, and is the only album I only listen to in order. Legendary group.

Bisscute, I love watching your reactions and seeing your face and emotions when listening to Pink Floyd. I would love to recommend "High Hopes" to you preferably live from Pompeii or Pulse. I think you will love it.
This song has one of the most important and iconic videos of all time! I was at a boys School just like the one in video, and this song nearly caused 350 schoolboys to riot one day when a kid bought a ghetto blaster in to school and started blasting this out in the common room! Legend! 🤣
The "Wall" , referred to by Pink Floyd, is the wall of bias and prejudice every human develops in their lives (arrived at by their individual experiences through time). "Another Brick" is just the forced/directed experience designed to create particular bias and prejudices desired by the person using the force/direction (teachers/school in this case). The entire album is about the "Wall" we build around ourselves, either intentionally or through outside intentions (as the song 'Mother' illustrates).
Pink Floyd... The thinking man's music. Seen them live when I was 12, back in the late 90's! 🥰 This track is super iconic and recognizable, it's been covered a few times by bands, Korn's cover in particular was the best one, in my opinion. This chorus has been sampled in tons of media, tons of movies. So, you definitely recognize it, even if it's only the chorus. Off Topic: Still waiting on more Aurora!
To me, this is Pink Floyd doing a cover of the old Pink Floyd. Without Roger Waters, the writer, and composer of this song, it's just not the (New) Pink Floyd's song, it's just a cover.
This should DEFINITELY interest you - Class of '99 was a very shortlived supergroup that formed EXCLUSIVELY to create a cover of this for the soundtrack of the movie The Faculty. It had Layne Staley of Alice In Chains on vocals, Tom Morello of Rqage Against the Machine on guitar, Marty LeNobler from Porno For Pyros on bass and Stephen Perkins from Jane's Addiction on drums. It's REALLY good.
Bisscute, I subscribed to you recently because i love your reactions.I have been enjoying this song and this band for years, but I had never heard this performance before. It was SO good. Well, I have tried for years and years to get somebody to react to, Philip Bailey, singing, "Walking On The Chinese Wall", The video/story version. Maybe you will be the first person to react to it. I hope so.
I'd like to give you some guidance: Another Brick in the Wall pt.2 is actually a critique of the school system that all children in the UK experienced after WW2 in the 1950s. And it really wasn't pretty. Fortunately, in the late 1950s and early 1960s, school reform was introduced in Britain, which in turn helped enormously in the development of young people, and at all levels of education. Not everyone knows that all the members of Pink Floyd are university graduates (they studied architecture and art at Cambridge). And it is the new concept of schooling in secondary schools and universities that has enabled unprecedented development in all aspects of science, art and culture. Had it not been for this, there would probably not have been such a huge number of excellent books, plays, films and, of course, great bands.
You kind of need to listen to the whole album through. It is a continuous story. There is a movie that might help you understand it better. The next album, the last with the whole band, The Final Cut. Is also like this.
My first time viewing this version of Another Brick In The Wall. Pink Floyd is one of the few bands in R&R history that sound as good live as they do in the studio. But this performance of an iconic song is fantastic. I could say that it is better than the album version because of the extended and rearranged guitar solo. Simply great. This version was noticeably slower paced. I didn't like that initially. But you forgot about the time difference in a few seconds. I'm gonna have to listen to this again with headphones. Now you need to see the movie! "The Wall" album is like a rock opera, and they made a movie of it directed by British filmmaker Alan Parker who passed a couple years ago. It's basically like the longest music video that you'll ever see, but it's a trip, and a real experience to include some pretty amazing art work and animation. When I was a teenager, it was still a thing. Seeing "The Wall", particularly under the influence of some sort of substance, was like a rite of passage. I don't want to spoil anything, but to answer what you said, the wall is basically the wall you psychologically build up inside to protect yourself, but that also completely leaves you isolated from the rest of the world around you.
@@fredkrissman6527 that's true, but if you want the full experience, I'd think you wouldn't want to break it up into pieces. I think the full thing is also here on UA-cam, and I'd suggest watching it all together. I mean, I guess you could watch it all at once, but still break it up to release in pieces.
I think, you should watch the original Pink Floyd movie "The Wall" (directed by Alan Parker), the full album is, actually, a (kind of) movie soundtrack.
Happy New Year Bisscute! I wish you could be taken back by time machine. As awesome as this music still sounds, you had to have lived during the time of its original creation and public release and hear it played all the time.
The Pink Floyd song that hits home for me is "Time". Starts with clocks!! The older you get the more the lyrics hit home. Don't think you have reacted to Fami, Lovebites new bassist. Sooo I think you love this short video - "Don't say lazy".
Children do the chorus for this on the album (and in many of the live performances), so that would probably be the version you heard on the radio or wherever and one reason this version would sound different to what you remember.

"You! Yes, you! Stand still, laddie!" All and all you're just another reason to build my wall and keep you out. I highly recommend two things: 1. Listen to Pink Floyd The Wall in it's entirety. 2. Listen to Another Brick In The Wall Parts 1, 2 (this one), and 3 from the album to gain a fuller context. It is pure genius.
Just to get to case at hand! I love the way you get into the music! I am 69 yrs. Old now; regardless of anything. What I will tell you is that it would take at least 40 plus years to hear all. From the late 60s through say the middle 90s there was 4 decades of literally GREAT music's. It would follow you well past your life time. Iove your open mind! There as so much great music it would follow you into your afterlife, just sayin'👀😉
Happy New Year Madalina. Hope that the new year brings you much happiness and much growth to your channels. I love how excited you still get every time a guitar solo kicks in.
I think it’s time for you to listen to the whole album The Wall. It makes more sense than listening to individual tracks. If you can, watch the movie The Wall too. It’ll all click once you do ☺️
This song is from The Wall. The wall is a rock opera. Pink, a young man, is building a wall around himself to isolate himself because of frustration. In the second part, the wall tumbles down.
This is actually 'Another Brick in the Wall' Part 2. This is how most radio stations broadcast it. The entire song is set up in 4 or 5 parts. I hope you'll get to listen to the entire album someday.
When you hear it on its own, Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2) sounds just like an "I hate school" song that every schoolkid would agree with. Taken in the context of "the Happiest Days of Our Lives," which precedes it on the album, you realise that the teachers were genuinely cruel and sadistic, and psychological abuse was as much a part of school life as any class. Moving on to "The Hero's Return," (from the Final Cut) you get an insight into the teacher's side, trying to teach a bunch of unruly kids while fighting a lonely battle with PTSD in post-WW2 Britain.
Korn did a cover of this, and it did have faster moments in it if I remember right. Class of 99 also covered it, but that was for the soundtrack to the movie The Faculty, so I doubt it was that version.
Thank you for watching the video, It means a lot to me .

Enjoy and thank you to share
Almost forgetting... Always from this tour, kiss
I love Pink Floyd. This song is already legend. Bisscute is so beautiful. Likeeeee, bye
"You!
Thanks, welcome and hopefully you’ll like the future reactions ❤️
Happy new year Bisscute, great song to react to.
pink floyd - shine on you crazy diamond reactionnnnnnn
🙏
Happy New Year Madalina. Hope that the new year brings you much happiness and much growth to your channels. I love how excited you still get every time a guitar solo kicks in.
Happy new year, thank you so much ❤

I think it’s time for you to listen to the whole album The Wall. It makes more sense than listening to individual tracks. If you can, watch the movie The Wall too. It’ll all click once you do ☺️
This song is from The Wall. The wall is a rock opera. Pink, a young man, is building a wall around himself to isolate himself because of frustration. In the second part,
the wall tumbles down.
not tumbles, Torn down ? "tear down the wall", " tear down the wall"
The other guitarist tearing it up there with David Gilmour was session guitarist Tim Renwick.
Got it, thanks ❤
Back vocals are imitating kids singing in COCKNEY (british slang).
Just to see how much you enjoyed the video it worth to watch.
😃👍
This is actually 'Another Brick in the Wall' Part 2. This is how most radio stations broadcast it. The entire song is set up in 4 or 5 parts. I hope you'll get to listen to the entire album someday.
Another Brick in the Wall parts 1-5 and 6-9? :D You are a crazy diamond :D
Oh? I didnt know there was parts ❤
One of my favorite songs of theirs. I think the best part is whIYOU CANT HAVE ANY PUDDING IF YOU DONT EAT YOUR MEAT
You need the movie to appreciate this.
Got it ❤
My hero
I see, thank you ❤
Love Pink Floyd....❤❤❤❤ Can you do Buckethead-whitewash (live) reaction...??? Please
Hamilton Bohannon - Let's Start The Dance (Pt. 1) (1978) EPIC FUNK FIRE!!! Think Everybody Dance Now on Steroids!!!
There is a bar in the Philippines called Brick in the Wall that has a band that only plays Pink Floyd songs
Here's an old favorite to check out: Triumph - A World of Fantasy (1982). Also Lay It on the Line is another big hit.
Thanks for the recommendation ❤
I love your name and your accent ❤😊
My favourite Bizzcute 🎉
You really should do "On The Turning Away" 2019 remastered. You will love it!
I think we need full version
in the flesh the wall by Roger waters d original pink Floyd base
Korn did a cover of this, and it did have faster moments in it if I remember right. Class of 99 also covered it, but that was for the soundtrack to the movie The Faculty, so I doubt it was that version.
Got it ty ❤
