Links to Order a Pandora Box 10th Anniversary from Ali Express or DIY Retro Arcade in Video Description. Hope you come back for the Light Gun Video! Let me know what you think of the Pandora Box 10th Below!
Upgraded from dx to 10th anniversary today and got the light guns , I’m delighted with it all, fantastic really enjoying operation wolf and point blank
This box has no street hoops or no dunk dreams 95 but the previous ones did I have this 10th one, but I’m glad I still have the old Pandora’s box as well
Very interesting. I have the feeling the HDMI should do less tearing, and audio artifacts. But, I think you might be happier with a PC running Coinops.
Saberia dizer se conectada com um cabo hdmi 2.1 fibra ótica é a um monitor de 144 hz melhoraria o imput lag ou teria que configurar para fazer essa função ? Would you know if connected with an HDMI 2.1 fiber optic cable to a 144 Hz monitor would it improve imput lag or would it have to be configured to do this function?
I’m curious about a few things: Killer Instinct, Jamma sound (I think wires 11 and 12 on both sides, does this have an amp?), and CGA video also off the Jamma harness?
Hi, can anyone provide a simple step-by-step method to change the button assignments? My PB 10th has the A-B buttons reversed (to begin with). I can't understand the Owner's Manual at all, it's the worst translation to English I've ever seen! Thank you : )
I bought a Baby Star Jamma multicade arcade cabinet several years ago and I'm interested in upgrading it, especially to include light guns with games. Is there a good option and do you think you can point me in the right direction? I was looking at the Pandora Box but it seems like it's not worth the trouble.
Maybe an AMD mini pc with fast SSD swap? I do hate audio glitching on emulation. I asked CornyCade about the MVSX with Hylox hack, specifically Turf Masters, which is a really good golf game, the audio glitches on putting on my coinopsx build, he has its perfect on mvsx, which has lower hardware spec, ugghhhh!
I have a Pandora's Box 10 and it's fine for what it is. I know there's some issues but it's really no big deal for me. I was interested in the light guns initially, but honestly I own an iircade and I'm pretty certain what GRS is doing will wind up blowing this out of the water.
@@TheGobblersGetback GRS is coming out with a control panel which will add a bunch of control options and allow the OG iircade cabs to connect Sinden light guns. But just as interesting (given the current state of iircade itself) is he's coming out with a $50ish single board computer which games can be added to which will hook up to the control panel. Using that you can keep using your iircade and add games using the SBC.
Good video - I enjoy most of your content. When you mention previously using a PBox 9D...is that the same thing as a PBox DX? I have the PBox DX installed in a converted A1UP Cabinet...plus I installed the Pandory Tool software and it gives me what I need (ability to add certain games such as Crazy Climber). I'm "Old School"...I'm only into the 8-bit & 16-bit systems plus the early 80s to mid-80s Arcade Games (MAME). The MENU Interface looks better on the PBox 10th Anniversary than on the PBox DX.
I bought the retro shooter hub kit which is compatible with the PB10 (have the family version in an arcade1up cab). It doesn't come with the console because it connects to a hub which links to the PB10 I already have. I went through the process shown in one of your other videos to unlock the lightgun games. To my disappointment, It didn't seem to have some of the classics available to play (area51, T2, Revolution X, Jurassic Park, The lost world, etc). I thought this wouldn't be an issue because I could just add the roms myself. After adding the roms I found that user added roms weren't set up to use the light guns. Instead, they use the joysticks wired to the pandoras box. This is crazy disappointing. I tried adding the games to the internal sd withing the roms_gun folder only to never find them within the PB UI. Have you tried adding games to the PB10 for use with the light guns? If not, is that something you could try for a future video?
Pulled the trigger a few months back and bought the Pandora 10 anniversary box (my first Pandora box). And installed it my A1up MKII cab when the board stopped working. Pretty happy with it so far. Looking forward to adding the light guns. Did you order the guns made for the Pandora box? I’ve been waiting for them to release. Do you have the link to where I can purchase them?
The issue with those Pandora boxes and other game boards like that, is they constantly load them up with far too many games that don't run properly and are not optimized for the best experience. i would never put something like that on my machines, i'll go with a PC-based setup instead.
Dude - anything is better than a Pandora Box lol. I dont need to watch anything. Heck a Pi3 image would be even better than a pandora box IMO. I think the bloom is off the rose on these crappy boxes the last couple of years.
I’ve got the home version in a modded arcade 1up overall it’s nice but that logo on there Home Screen has burned itself on the lcd monitor wish they had an auto screen saver. also the ability to add games is hit or miss. i was able to add a complete arcade library, literally every arcade game made but the new search functions are not extended to what you put on. Your left scrolling for days hopefully the 11 will add more software access to menus
@@pimpinken8901 I have the box on a cocktail table and was hoping to add vertical games since everything plays horizontal on it. Did you notice if you could add vertical games? And they play correctly? TIA
A Pandora Box has never looked enticing to me - from the UI and game title naming conventions, to the “slapped together” nature of its rom collection and mediocre emulation, it’s a hard pass for me. I have a feeling you’re going to gut this and go a different route, haha. I definitely would go with a Batocera mini PC build. It’s simple enough and with Sinden Lightgun support, I think it would be a fun project!
PDubs, I'm with you, the "Rom Dump" feeling is over. It's been awesome over the years to have access to these classics via free emulation, but I just want to sit down and play and not have to tinker with settings, control layouts, or worry about some parts of the game not working correctly (as was the case with that Tennis game you showed; I love the fact they were playing on a planet with 4 or 5 suns as the shadows of the players and the ball showcased :D). And I get it, that's the price one pays when one wants access to a large library of unlicensed games, but the day someone truly takes the time to curate a collection, let's say, 1,000 games or so, that all work perfectly emulated, with no setup or configuration required, that person, or company will be the real savior of these games. Sure, 1,000 games isn't 96,000 games, or even the just over 5,000 games the Pandora's box used in the video has, but I think you'd agree, having a smaller library of games, but they all just work properly with no issues, would be preferable. And that's the one thing that excited me most about iiRcade. We finally had a company who tried to accomplish this. Sure, that curation cost a good chunk of change as you had to buy each game individually, but man, I love being able to hit start and everything just works. And I'm on board with you when it comes to the main reason you bought the Pandora... LIGHTGUN GAMES! A lightgun game cab, with a sizable library is one of the grails I'm looking to add to my home arcade. I'm hoping to have something like that with Glen's upcoming iiRcade control solution, but wouldn't be above commissioning something like that. And of course, one can just build and program their own build, but like I said, I just want to play. I CANNOT WAIT to see your revisit of the Pandora lightgun functionality. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works out for you. Then you at least have one AMAZING new Lightgun station. But if it doesn't work out, you may want to reach out to Kongs R Us as his lightgun build (Point Blank machine) seems to be a great setup. Maybe Buy Stuff Store will get into the game :) Thank you SO MUCH for showing off your new Candy Cab, you've added something REALLY COOL to your home arcade! vgv
Still ironic why the don't put a SOC in this with better 3D resources. Many SOCs for same cost, yet they continue gimping these things and cost is not an obstacle..... Dumb.

amazing after all this time they still can’t get a lot these games running properly. your chewlix deserves better! thanks for the review!
My pleasure! And yes I think we may end up going a different route!

Oh nice enjoy!
Very thorough and well put together video. Thank you for doing it. I’m very excited for the light gun integration.
Thank you 😊
You'll be better off getting a nice mini PC that boots into Coinops.
Nothing wrong with PC builds
Top marks for playing GI Joe. I have always been down on the Pandoras Box machines so not really my Jam but man that machine looks cool
Rock on!

I'm going to wait for your light gun video before I buy it...thanks Pdubs for the info..
Happy to share my experience!
I would love to put a pandora box in my iircade. Great video pdubs.
Thanks for checking out the video!
Excellent and as always honest review PDubs 😊
Glad you like them!
I thought AVP hadn’t been released for home accept on that Capcom joystick thing in Asia and Europe…?
Lol it's not licensed on here

And what if your screen is potrait orientated? My monitor is vertical setup cause i play for the most the vertical games (mr do etc etc)
Probably not the product for you then

PDub, can you share specs or where you got your candy cab? What's the screen dimensions?
Does this work with the sinden lightgun?
Many thanks
No
Is there a way to save games like the normal way like snes and gameboy games without gamestates?
Thanks for the honest opinion.
Does the hot button need to be assigned? I only have a 1p panel on my cab (7button) is anything needed from player 2 for configuration or settings?
Yes your 7th button will he your hot key button. If you only have 1player no need to worry about 2 player wires or setup

Most likely
is this the most current pandoras box or is there a newer version?
This is the most current

@@PDubsArcadeLoft thanks PDubs…got them in my cart…BUT..waiting on your review of them first before I hit buy😆
CAN YOU HOOK IT UP TO YOUR TV COMPUTER MONITOR ?
You would have to get the ‘home edition’ not the arcade edition that uses a Jamma connection
Pretty neat cabinet, bummer the 3d games dont run well but damn thats a nice screen! 😮
Thank you
how to change player 2 controls any idea

Is Karate Champ on the list?
how is the atomiswave running
I have a green EX, so it's really not worth for upgrade right?
How much latency you get playing fighting games like Tekken 3
C'est possible de la brancher sur Legend Arcade ultimate ?
No not plug and play
Not to make you jealous Pdubs, but check out the build in Retro Ralph's Diamond cab... holy crap, THAT is how you do a collection!

Dude, my game memory card got deleted, do you know how to re-download the game?
I don't understand how can they mess up the audio on the arcade games?
These games are not hard to emulate and they should all run perfect
It's Pandora. Been this way for years
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Have you reviewed Pandora Saga 3D? is it the same here with the audio?

Yes

Just a few

As far as I can tell, it all plays horizontal. It doesn't flip. I'm hoping the add games function can add games in the proper orientation
