I think I heard this was a problem with earlier Boxes for ps1 but it seems like PS1 games dont have that issue anymore
4 players may work "easy peasey" with controllers, but I don't think it works for 4-player arcade cabinets. The PBDX uses the PB9D break out box to allow for 4-player arcade cabinet controls (if memory serves). That said, the only REAL advantages I've found with the PB10th2 is the better MVC2; improved visuals; and a lot of the console games I had to add to the PBDX are now stock, have preview videos, and can be favorited. A good upgrade to a 2-player arcade cabinet with a PBDX, but not a 4-player arcade cabinet.
I believe the bilinear blur filter is important when you play these games on a LCD monitor it replicate in some way the CRT blur. However this filter should be off when you play it on a CRT. If Im not mistaken we have a blur when we play it on a real arcade (CRT) so I think 3A should include the bilinear blur filter as an option exactly how we have it today with the optional scanlines/HD filter. Based on this do you still recommend the version2 over the version1 box? I will be using LCD monitor in my case :)
CRTs don't intentionally blur the image. The "blur" that you're seeing on a real CRT is actually due to multiple factors. The problem with, say a bilinear blur that is added to the CGA (240p... I think) version of the DX or 10th is that it goes overboard with it. Rather than smoothing out the image slightly you end up with having a total lack of focus and feel like you've aged 40 years. - I think that's what you meant with the "blur should be off on CRT". Another thing to mention is that the scaling on 3As range of Pandora Boxes just don't scale well on the CGA screen. When the blur is off... It looks terrible for some games. Neogeo for example. We've mentioned earlier that the Pandora X Games, and even the Pandora 4S are great examples of systems that look AMAZING on JAMMA CRTs. It's just unfortunate that they aren't very powerful in comparison to the other boxes available. The blur effect is much less pronounced when you use 720p or 1080p though, and there are definitely places when it benefits the image. Uneven pixels (due to lack of integer scaling) is a good example of what can be helped by using the bilinear filter. And yes... This DEFINITELY should be an option.
I've never gotten one of these, but the impression I've gotten is being able to load "Pandory" fixes a ton of stuff. Since this box says it is updatable, does that mean this runs Pandory? I have a Global Arcade Classics arcade machine that I would like a quick way to add all the games I've been missing, and this seems like a cheap way to do it.
Is there any arcade box available that natively renders in 1080p without nasty upscaling or I should rather buy 720p monitor? Also, are these arcade consoles available anywhere in the EU or the UK?
Pandora by name and all too often by legend too. The companies response to the original issues is a big red flag for me, even though not entirely surprising. The concept was always great but so patchy and way too many models masquerading as being updated but just being minor variations, sometimes even worse than what came before the last one.
Hi, can anyone provide a simple step-by-step method to change the button assignments? My PB 10th has the A-B buttons reversed (to begin with). I can't understand the Owner's Manual at all, it's the worst translation to English I've ever seen! Thank you : )
Probably not much different outside being able to use lightguns with four sensors. Maybe an extra couple of games, and we doubt they've fixed anything else. Buy from 3A directly on AliExpress. If anyone mentions that much has changed, we may look into it. But paying again for another pair of these machines, (which at over $140 or something is overpriced as is), makes no sense. 3 hardware revisions (of the 10th) in one year takes complete advantage of the customer, especially when they promised software updates from the first version of the 10th... Which didn't even work, and now the second version (which could update) is no longer supported by them. Apologies for the rant, but these business practices are absolutely against the consumer.. I'd only grab one of these if you don't want to change settings, leave things as they have it, and don't want to set up a mini pc up with something like batocera... You'll have a much better experience in the end.
I just got my V3 10th and istalled it in my SFII arcade jamma cabinet. So far I love it. Was able to add games. Agree the scan line function is better than before but still not great. I was able to move Golden Axe 2 RODA to mame 2010 and it runs great (no more issues with effed up scaling as you move vertically through some areas). I also was one of the first purchasers of the retroshooter that came with it's own pandora and those huge wonkey sensors. I barely played with it on a separate LCD in my home office because it just didn't feel like an arcade experience. So I bought one of these new v3 jamma 10's and some peripherals from other vendors for more discreet sensors and now have a full arcade system that not only plays light gun games but plays all the other games I care about as well. It's definitely not perfect. Still can't search for any of the games you've added, many arcade games have sound issues (golden axe sounds terrible in any of the FBA versions but surprisingly works well in the one I added to the 2003 mame folder). I also only paid $86 and got mine from ebay so not sure why yours was $140. But at the end of the day it provides 95% of the arcade experience from my youth that I'm nostalgic for and my little kids love playing games on it as well. For what it is and how much this hobby costs, it's a pretty good deal. I'm sure you can get a killer experience if you have a $4K computer setup and tons of time and know how, but for the rest of us it ain't bad. But I agree with you 100% that 3A doesn't give a shit and all they want to do is sell you a new box every 6-12 months. I'm sure that was part of the calculation in using a generic SD. @@TeamPandory

Hello, on this Pandora Box 10th Anniversary V2, are there introductions to arcade and console games when you start the games ? And 3D arcade games added like DIE HARD : ARCADE, DYNAMITE COP, TEKKEN 1 - 2 and 3, THE HOUSE OF THE DEAD 1 - 2 and 3, the 2 first DEAD OR ALIVE, do they work well ? The PSP games added via USB are not perfect in terms of emulation, that much is clear, the result shows it well. What about emulation for other added formats such as PS1, Dreamcast, N64 and Naomi/Atomiswave ? Thank you, for yours answers, have a nice day.
Instructions, only the usual ones on the arcade machines, like kof where it shows how to guard etc. 3d games ? No. They're all PlayStation versions. Added games vary greatly on this system. You can't really add psp games, as most glitch out, and you can't add light gun games yourself. We've made two other reviews of the v1 boxes as well as a tutorial showing how to add them.

For Amiga, the closest pandora box is the DX, with pandory. But with keyboard I'm unsure. Mini pc and batocera is more than likely the better path to travel.
Yeah I formatted an old laptop and installed Batocera on it (which utterly destroyed a good USB stick as many others mention too). But after all the effort and fiddling to get it working, I then found out that I can't use the laptops hdmi to show the games on my large smart TV. Hey there, sorry we didn't reply on the Facebook post. The problem is we don't have any updates (or even a pandory version) for the 10th, because 3A have closed all the holes for us to mess with anything... Even simple things like mame settings are currently impossible. You'd need to ask 3A to add this, but it may be difficult to implement what you need. The money used would likely be down to the coin mechanism rather than the pandora box, and then changing cash amounts for continues would (again) be down to mame / arcade settings which we have no access to. Hope this helps somewhat.
finding controls would be nice but i think all the good stuff is on main chip not SD card. only if we could edit mame.cfg and add tab button to access the menu within the emulator fun stuff would begin like total carnage smash tv SDI
The chipset for the first version made no sense. Ran Dreamcast and Naomi like dirt. Plenty of chips for same cost that can handle 3D function. Same here?
I'd disagree. The chipset is pretty capable, it's the same as the anbernic rg353 series, so anything running well on that should be possible here too. A lot of it comes down to configuration. Saying that, this is the same hardware configuration as the first one.
They need to fix the audio on the arcade 2D games and upgrade to 128GB storage.. What kind of arcade buttons do you use on your cabinet they sound good:)
It depends on the games that you want to play. This does have the power to run most MAME, FBA, PS1, Dreamcast, and Naomi very well, but many of the problems of this box are in it's software. You could have the fastest supercomputer on the planet, but it would be comparable to a doorstop if it didn't have any software to back it up.
@@TeamPandory I agree about the software but I believe they are pushing the a55 to about as far as it goes. Most dreamcast/Naomi games have graphical problems. And ps2/gamecube would probably never run on it. They need some higher performance cores with a72 or a75. Or grab a Unisoc 618 since they should be getting cheaper.

Why is it not possible to add games when using the jamma crt mod? Is there any tips for adding games?
They've fixed adding games in the update for JAMMA. We've made a video regarding adding games to pandora 10th
@@TeamPandory Seriously, I'm following the channel... but I must have missed it , Add games to jamma? crt?
@@Fox7-s7w it's in the patch notes, I just completely forgot in this video. I guess without being able to mess with settings, save games etc our focus is elsewhere (image quality etc )
Thanks for mentioning though- people should be aware of this 🙏
Please Pandory for the next updated version mention to 3A about the sound issues found in different 2D Arcade games (MAME) and also in Sega Genesis games.. they probably use old emulators and of course dip switches for blood :)
Sorry to say it's obvious that they want to do things on their own terms.
We've mentioned to them the problems, but they've become fans of drinking their own kool-aid and shooting themselves in the foot.
Can you change the micro sd and make a backup or are these locked?
Yes, you can make a backup of the microsd where the games are, but not of the actual system itself- that's on the internal nand, locked down ... If that's screwed you have a bricked system.
POR FAVOR ME AJUDEM!!! Minha pandora box 10, congela SEMPRE!!
Sounds like a a resounding "meh."
Has the BitKit2 crossed your radar yet?
It has, but there's nothing really that compelled me to buy a board. Most of the games that it runs are before my time.
Mine restarts randomly and dont get wifi connection. Has anyone else problems?
A complete restart, or exit mid-game?
Did you check inside your box to see if the WiFi antenna is inserted correctly ?
@@TeamPandoryeverything seems fine but i only get a low wifi signal (red). Mid Game reboot or in Menu.
where I can buy the PB 10th jamma v2? could you put the direct link? thx
Links are in the video description
Wait, so Atomiswave/Dreamcast/Naomi plays on a 15k CRT or not?
They used to load up on the first release. But they've patched it, so the CGA menu doesn't display atomiswave/ Dreamcast / Naomi / psp ... basically any later systems. Shame tbh
@@TeamPandory but if you go into the menu and type the name of the game, you will find it.. ex type "mario" in the list the name of mario kart 64 will appear at the top..
@@TeamPandory And isn't there any possibility of doing this manually, ex editing the pandora configuration??
@@Fox7-s7w on the first edition, yes. That no longer works for the updated ones. Tried with marvel Vs capcom 2 and capcom Vs snk 2 ... nothing.
@@Fox7-s7w the pandora configuration is locked away on the internal memory. With many other things such as save game data etc.
Does it run Amiga games?
I'm looking for a box to play MAME and Amiga games.
What's the best/cheapest box for just those two platforms.
And can you plug a full keyboard into a box for Amiga games if it runs them?
I installed Batocera on on old laptop but when you do, the laptop can't output to a big screen.
The laptop screen is very small at around 11" so I don't want to play MAME and Amiga games on it.@@TeamPandory
Can't we play PSP Dreamcast games on CRT . can we?
Not if it's in CGA resolution. In VGA you can tho
@@TeamPandory
thank you!
It's too bad for me.
Hi, how well does it play on VGA? I have a Chinese 19 inch cabinet with what I assume is a 5:4 ratio. Thanks for your continuous efforts.
VGA and HDMI will play best on this box.
Is this going to have Pandori?
If we can get in... I think it's pretty clear they want to have complete control over their system though.
@@TeamPandory in that case I'm going to stay with my DX with Pandory for now.
Is out run 2006 on this box???
We added outrun 2006. It's not on at stock.
Will pandory work on the 10th anni jamma?
Currently, no. 😢
@@TeamPandory totally ok. I have both a DX and 10th. I’m just trying to figure out how to get my 3” arcade usb trackball to work on the 10th. It shows as a mouse pointer. No idea how to update the emulators to look at it as a trackball device vs a mouse.
@@alexlevy we'd love to help, but the 10th is behind a wall of security. We can't even change mame settings easily on it. You may be interested in our next review if you're focus is trackball though 😁. Video review should be up in the next couple of days.
@@TeamPandory fantastic! I can’t wait. I’ll install pandory on my DX in the meanwhile :)
The seller told me he is selling version 3. Is he lying?
If it's not directly from 3A (AliExpress) or Retroshooter, take it with a pinch of salt.
@TeamPandory Hope the Pandora team is keeping up with coin games on PB10 updates! 🎯🕹🔫
Espcially for arcade mode! To Start .50© & To Continue .25© options in settings.
Thank you Pandory Team!🙂
Hey there, sorry we didn't reply on the Facebook post.
The problem is we don't have any updates (or even a pandory version) for the 10th, because 3A have closed all the holes for us to mess with anything... Even simple things like mame settings are currently impossible.
You'd need to ask 3A to add this, but it may be difficult to implement what you need. The money used would likely be down to the coin mechanism rather than the pandora box, and then changing cash amounts for continues would (again) be down to mame / arcade settings which we have no access to.
Hope this helps somewhat.
should be getting mine soon see if i can push it to it's limits get some extra stuff from it
Push it ! Will be interesting to see if any more can be pushed out of this
finding controls would be nice but i think all the good stuff is on main chip not SD card. only if we could edit mame.cfg and add tab button to access the menu within the emulator fun stuff would begin like total carnage smash tv SDI
Hi! How can i see if my pandora box 10th is first or second edition? Thank you
Check the firmware version, if it's 0.1.something it's version 1, anything over 0.2 is version 2 or later
버전1은 업데이트 안됩니까?
The TMNT title screen during your SD section shows the same scaling problems as the Neo Geo games, I don't think you noticed it in the review however.
Nah, we did... it's just not as bad as the neogeo games though. 😊
These buttons are Sanwa obs30.. player 2 has Baolong! 😂
They need to get a better soc so it can play games better.
Good thing I got rid of these pandoras and got a pi2jamma setup. After all these years they're still crappy as ever. Make a damn board that displays proper 15Khz CGA with all the games you put into that thing., wjhy on earth would I want a jamma board for my LED display...I can just get a rasp pi and call it a day.
