Philly's BEST CHEESESTEAK? Angelo's Pizzeria Review
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 кві 2024
- Out of all the best cheesesteaks in Philly, such as Dalessandro's, John's Roast Pork, and Ishkabibble's just to name a few, Angelo's Pizzeria is being mentioned more and more as the best cheesesteak in Philadelphia. Angelo's, as its name suggests, is known for its pizzas. But it's also known for excellent Philly cheesesteaks with melty and creamy Cooper Sharp cheese. The place is takeout-only, with no seating on premises. Despite this, the line is literally down the street and around the block, even in bad weather! People commonly wait over an hour just to get their hands on one of their famous cheesesteaks.
Is Angelo's Pizza Philadelphia's best cheesesteak? I've had many great cheesesteaks in Philly throughout the years, having grown up in the suburban Philly area in South Jersey. I've had Campo's, Pat's and Geno's of course, and Sonny's as well. If so many people say Angelo's is the best cheesesteak in town though, you know I cannot resist trying it. I drove all the way down from North Jersey and made a whole trip out of it just to try it!

Oops! Typo. Not a "30 hour wait" haha, sorry
I think it was deliberate
Please don’t sing ever again 😂😂😂. You are awesome 😎
😂😂😂
go to Overbrook Pizza !! in West Philly

We follow you here in Philly UA. As long as your content is good, it doesn't matter where you are from. I found you a year ago and I'm still here.👍🏽
No sir, Danny (Angelo’s) bakes their bread in house. He worked at Sarcones back in the day but very different style of hoagie roll
@@ItzBwo Thank you for the correction. I heard the story about 3 yrs ago on Marc Weins channel when he came, but I remembered it incorrectly.
I was gonna say the same....come down to Delco UA
So it’s unusual or surprising to follow or to like someone from a different state? I mean you, people are taking demographics to a different level.
I'm sorry, but the only reason demographics were mentioned is because UA was surprised that the lady at the register followed him living in Philly. You have a Blessed day.
That’s so cool you were recognized by one of the staff!!
I was not expecting the cheesesteak to look that good. Dear lawd.
And still not worth an hour wait...make that shit at home
Gotta eat it before making this comment. It is worth it. @@RFSpartan
UA videos never fail. Always great content
Wow killing it with the uploads. Such a feelgood channel this, keep em coming!
100% agree; I love the positive radiance of this guy and watching his funny countenance when he does the first bite 😁.
Love what you do UA it is fun to watch and to listen to your opinions on the foods you eat
Wow, UA! You are stepping up your review frequency. Loving your content!
Love your uploads UA. Keep up the great content
Thanks for another UA! Makes my day.
Thx UA i absolutely love your content and wishes you would drop a video every day. Congrats on your success and keep going. You are the next Mike Chen. ❤❤❤
UA is better
Who is that lol
I’m drooling and the bread looks so yummy
I like Dave Portnoy's pizza reviews, but they've become so popular that every local pizzaria is making them the way HE likes them trying to get a high score from him. So the entire country's pizza is now being suited just for one man's preferences.
Not wrong, but at least for Angelo’s sake imitation is the highest form of flattery and Angelo’s gets to reap the rewards of being the innovator
I haven’t seen a pizza place. He reviewed in the last month that makes it the way he likes it so I think your facts are a lil off
@@wayneguy6043 wrong
You’re wrong his fav of all time Sally’s is not crispy!! It’s soft and chewy!!!
He literally calls in and gives a fake name to avoid that so...nah.
Best steak in Philly! Angelo’s bakes their own bread in house, same sourdough starter as their pizza dough. The owner Danny used to work at Sarcone’s bakery at few doors down from Angelo’s
Are you able to order the bread without sesame seeds?
I'm from NYC and now live in PA; Angelo's Cheesesteak definitely on point. i know there a couple others in the area that are also good but I feel the sesame bread and cooper sharp make it a bit more unique and def delicious. A must if you are doing cheesesteak runs in Philly. The pizza, idk i found it to be really good. Don't sleep on it it really is a good pizza pie, think Umberto's of New Hyde Park brick oven but with a slight dif taste of sauce. worth the trip to get these two items there.
Went there a few weeks ago. You think to yourself "this better be worth the wait." It actually is.
Hey UA! Like your content. I'd suggest that you make a review at Liberty House Restaurant during Lunch hours. It's very good there, because the restaurant is located at Liberty State Park and has an overview of Lower Manhattan. Hope to see a review of Liberty House Restaurant in the near future!
Cooper sharp is a processed sharp cheese which gives it the creaminess!
love hearing the crunch when you bite into it.
Hi UA . Man your description, your taking words right out of my mouth. 😂 Pizza looked good but of course it’s not NY standard. I like sesame it does add flavor. I prefer provolone. Glad it was worth the trip. Thanks buddy.👋🏽
It made me happy to see you get recognized. We appreciate your content
I was just there on Sunday (was in Philly for the weekend from north NJ as well). Line was crazy and the wait for the cheesesteak was an hour. One of the girls behind the counter actually told us to set a timer and just come back (they keep your sandwich in a warmer when it is done). I also got cooper sharp with fried onions and it was amazing! Pro tip: if you walk down the block towards what I guess may be part of Little Italy, there are some places with open air seating where you can eat. You will definitely need to sit. Not advisable to try and eat this standing!
Were you going to the Sixers game?
@@uaeatsnope. Was there with my girlfriend celebrating her birthday-day.

Love your channel!! Wish you would review places on West Coast! ❤
Nice job UA keep up the good work
Man you always make me so hungry!👍
The bread for most of angelos stuff if I recall is made at the bakery next door sarcones close to it actually.
Such an amazing vessel for the cheese steak
Angelo’s bakes his own rolls every day and they run out every day 800-1000 rolls I’ve heard place runs 24/7 but only open 11/7 the other 16 hours is prep no joke that place pumps out so much food on. Daily basis it’s insane like 10 workers at all times
@@cbruno12180 makes me want to go back and that makes sense how hard they work, and the consistent quality out there. Thanks for the clarification!
Both the stores are tied in someway I thought
Love the videos watch on my free time !
I remember Angelo's having a pop-up in NYC in a food truck. Bradley Cooper was even in the truck cooking.
That cheesesteak looks awesome! And I love that the onions play a "background role" as you said -- that's just my thing. I'm not from Philly, but I always thought Geno's was the go-to place for cheesesteak? Has that changed?
Geno's has to be one of the absolute worst. They don't cut their steak at all. It's just sliced and not even thinly sliced at that. Pat's at least chops their steak. Both are nowhere near as good as other places. Geno's looks like something I would try feeding to a stray dog if I hadn't already seen how it doesn't look the least bit appetizing.
Must feel awesome to be recognized , great job UA.
Hi UA how’s it going looking forward to this cheesesteak review . Keep it up 👍🏻 RK
I just had an Angelo’s cheesesteak with Cooper sharp cheese and fried onions. HOLY F*CK! As someone lived in or around Philly for over 20 years, this is by far the best cheesesteak I have ever had.
I tried Dalessandro's for the first time a couple of days ago. Their cheesesteak is good too, but Angelo’s is on another level.
Looks great. I have been liking the sharp provolone lately
I had olfactory hyperphantasia when you bit into the cheesesteak. I could smell the sesame seed roll! So crazy!! 😂😂😂
Does Angelo's still use Sarcone rolls?
great stuff
You’ve got to try Lillo’s in Hainesport, NJ!
Great video pizza looked a little dry.Cheese steak looked great .
Tony Lukes was one of my favorites in Philadelphia
Keep up the good work
Great vid! Would love to see you try Donkey's Place next.
I hate waiting for food, but when I'm on vacation Ill wait. However, I'm not so sure I would wait that long! It all looked really good!
UA: Angelo's bakes their own rolls! John's Roast Pork uses Sarcones rolls! Being originally from Philly I have eaten a lot of cheesesteaks over 40 some years. OK, Angelo's & John's Roast Pork are great but you need to try Donkeys Place in Camden, NJ for an unusual delicious cheesesteak!
Never been to Angelo’s, but that looked great.
I like John’s Roast pork. I take a friend, we get a cheesesteak and a roast pork, & split em between us. We always argue about which sandwich is better.
You need new friends

Another great video UA! I'm amazed they can maintain the quality with that many customers. Your pizza looked like it was cooked about 1-2 minutes too long.
Excellent !
UA, the pizza needed more sauce and cheese for me. The cheese steak looks sooooo good. I like sesame seeds on bread, especially hot dog buns.
Good content as usual 👏 👌 😊😊😊
I thought i had heard that they bake their own bread. I could be wrong. Looks great! Cooper sharp sounds interesting, It's a great cheese,
Sometime you need to try George’s, a small sandwich shop in Philly’s Italian Market neighborhood. If you want to try something unique, try their T&T sandwich. Tongue & Tripe. 😋
When you come back to NY, go to Mama's Too in the west village and get their cheesesteak. Great pizza spot, but their cheesesteak is amazing also
The sesame bread and Cooper American cheese makes this sandwich so good
That cheesesteak is top tier! Cooper sharp, fried onions! Also, the upside down jawn is a must try, pillowy square pie, sauce on top! The grandma pie is also very good, thin square! Their cutlet sandwiches are excellent as well!
I was in Philadelphia a year ago and had a Philly cheesesteak in the Reading Market, I can’t remember the name of the place, but it was delicious.
That pizza looks great. My favorite is south shore bar style. I love when they put butter in the dough and gives it a crackery crunch. I don't like dough that is chewy. My two cents.
Very good sir !!
Looks really delicious!
Def need to add Cafe Carmela's to the NEED to try list. There, Angelo's and John's Roast Pork are #1s any day of the week.
That cheese steak looks great! Cool barber shop on the corner, too!
Welcome home brotha
You’re the best UA!
what day was this?
Great review. Way togo UA!
your content is excellent -how about making a trip down to Texas and try some BBQ and a few of the steakhouses we have here
Angelo's cheese steak really looked yummy!!
You should do Donkey's Cheesesteaks in Camden. Make sure you eat it indoors instead of to go. Might be better than any of the Philly places. I've been to Angelo's, it's terrific.
Ua, get a roast pork and broccoli rab (dipped) from D'nics in Reading Terminal markets
"umami-ness"-- looks so good!
That looks really good! I hate when they chop up the steak really small like they do in a lot of Philadelphia places.
The Cooper cheese is sort of an elevated American cheese. I don’t even like American cheese, but I like the Cooper. You can get it sliced at the deli counter in Wegmans.
You should go down the street and review some Italian food. Villa Di Roma and Ralph's!
U A you should try Meatheadz in Lawrenceville NJ , they are known for Cheesesteaks!
UA, please try OG's Pizza on Frankford Ave!... It has a massive Italian dome brick oven! Their pizza is great!
Wow. Pizza looks epic.
did you try the pop tarts ?
Last time i saw a line this big in philly, Nike had a 100% discount on everything during a protest and people were looting.

Without a lot of onions, I expected that sandwich to be just "sub" par
Your love of puns brings a tear to my eye (stretch?)
@uaeats nah, good jokes can have multiple layers..... okay ill see myself out
Alan, I see what you did. UA… onions…tear to the eye…. Not a stretch, bud.
In the old days, a cheese steak had lots of peppers and onions.. and NEVER cheese whiz… usually provolone.
I live in south philly and go to 9th St. every weekend, I never see lines like that ever. I only go down there on the weekends, so maybe during the week or after I'm done on the weekend.
You gotta love how UA can juxtapose Beyonce's backup singers and a fresh basil pizza.
First JOLLY now UA. Angelo's is certainly in the spotlight this week.
You said no starting 4? Wouldn’t Traore be starting at the 4? Albeit an undersized 4
Next time down in Philly, try Lorenzos pizza at 4th and South Street. That mimicks a NY pie with the bend. And tastes very good. Best pizza I ever had was in NY on Mulberry St.
Angelo's geta their cheesesteak bread fresh baked from Sarcone's Bakery.... about a half block south of Angelo's. They are all within the same family business i believe.
I love that you're an Eagles fan living in NYC. Go Birds.
you gotta try chiddy's in farmingdale. My favorite wit wiz
Been following since the beginning from maryland
You had me at Sarcones roll.
I want to compliment you on your pizza review and your use of the word “oily” rather than “greasy” like another pizza review guy does. Means a lot, at least to me anyway.👍
I've eaten at maybe at a dozen cheese steak joints in Philly, and to me, Angelo's blows them all away. The quality of the bread and the use of cooper sharp takes it to the next level. I usually have it with a roasted long hot, which adds a whole other smoky, spicy dimension. Just kind of pissed that it's now "discovered" and will now have to endure that line.
angelo’s reminds me of modern pizza in new haven which is some of the best in the planet imo. it’s definitely preference, i’ve eaten a ton of nyc pizza as well having grown up in the nyc tri-state. haven’t been to brooklyn, but my manhattan spots: patsy’s, angelo’s, joe’s, sauce, 310 bowery , scarrs, williamsburg
sorry bro, pizza opinion is suspect
UA you're awesome bro! i hope you can visit Vancouver sometime to eat! Would you ever do a meet and eat with your fans? Because it'd be awesome if we can eat with ya!
I’ve been there and hands down one of the best cheese steaks I’ve ever had
Cheesiest beefiest bite without no diddy is honestly insane work.
Do Pat’s and Geno’s… are they truly tourist traps like everyone says?
I learned something new, scooped! That’s a good looking cheesesteak.
In Philly it's actually called "Gut The Roll"
Best place in my Philly tour of Cheesesteaks was actually across the river in Camden, check out Donkey's Place next time you're down there. To be fair, I haven't tried Angelo's yet
That's actually good weather to me. It's 52C in asia rn. The sewer water is boiling hot. I'm getting heat cramps on my hands & knees. And my new sneakers' sole separated from the main shoe after 2 hours of walking-- at night. The wind, if there's any, is pretty hot. The tap water almost scalded me. Drinking water ain't gonna cut it. And it's gonna get hotter in May. It's like hell everyday. 😭
I'm sure it's great but not worth the wait time. Try Lillo's in Hainesport NJ. I hear that's great. same style b probably use the same bread.
UA is fame certified. Recognized by the employee!
That was really neat!
@@uaeatsUA is definitely THE ROCK STAR of food reviewers!👏🥳
BTW UA, they make their own bread in-house! Fun fact!!! It's the best cheesesteak
You should create some merch!
Is there pretzel salt on that pizza?
I'm calling it this channel will have >250k subs by the end of the year. Great content man
Between angelos and johns roast pork for best sandwiches. Cant go wrong.
