That was why I didn't pay now to get in January. My only hope is that this is just a gimmick sale and another similar wheel will be available in the New Year just with a different colour scheme or something different to the 'strictly limited' offer ;)
There will be a other version of this. It will also work with xbox as this version does not. You can see that version in the "Guide to our Ecosystem" video with SimRacingGirl somewhere in the beginning.
Licensing, fanatec had to pay Microsoft a shit ton of money so Microsoft can allow fanatec to sell to it's Xbox users, and it's just not worth it for fanatec for these low volume products.

What a dissapointment, here I was hoping on a F1 styled rim with big LCD display AND! extra shifting pedals included. This is a F0.8 rim the other 0.2 (shifters so you also have dual clutch) aren't on it. Guess I will wait till there is going to be an actual F1 rim coming out or I go for the McLaren one.
I have the Formula Carbon, McLaren GT3 and Universal hub and don't want another rim the same rim I already own, when they said they had the Official F1 license I was sure we were getting the McLaren F1 rim from Alonso's F1 car! But we got a recycled Formula carbon instead :( there is still time I guess!

Hi Mario, we reassessed the demand in each region and relocated few more units to be available in the EU webshop. The total unit count of this limited edition remains, and this is the only adjustment we will be making, so you must act fast!

I was expecting to have a large screen like the current f1, still a beast tho. Shame its limited, just bought a racing rig so can't afford it now. I'll just get the magnetic shifters for my current formula wheel :)
Not very interesting offer without the clutch paddles. Also the extra rotating switches will probably not work any ways on PS4 like the mclaren gt3 wheel even with an official supported f1 2018 game.
The new multi-position switches on this wheel have an encoder mode, allowing them to function as a repeating 'standard' input in two directions. Both the thumb encoders and multi-position switches (in encoder mode) already work in F1 2018 (on PC). It should be possible to enable these on PS4, but it requires integration with our SDK.
@@jeff36945 The PS4 is very specific about its 'standard' gamepad-style inputs, therefore the encoders don't work 'out of the box' like they do on PC. This is something that can be enabled through our new SDK - but it is up to game developers to implement it.
@@-racingfan2014 This is not possible, because the multi-position switches on the McLaren GT3 wheel have physical stops at each end. The new multi-position switches on the formula wheel can rotate continuously in both directions, and therefore can work as encoders. We are continuing to encourage developers to implement the 12-way input through our SDK, as we believe there is value in this type of input for sim racers, and we don't want to leave our RMcL customers behind.
Really a shame.. Such a large fanbase with people waiting for a steer like this with finally the right amount of inputs and then it is sold out before you even knew it was there. Think a large amount of Fanatec fans will be very dissapointed with this. Also non-fans have buyed it to make a big profit out of this and will sel them for a lot more money. Sad to see. How long do we have to wait for a simular steering wheel now, as REAL Fanatec fans?
I'm sorry that you weren't able to grab one of these, hagueian, but that is the nature of a limited edition product. Rest assured that this particular steering wheel is not the only product that will include these features. Please stay tuned.
??? There were about 1500 units or so available in the different shops. It's now sold out worldwide after 1 1/2 days. Already sold out after 12 hours yesterday in the EU.
356 units still available in USA. None in Europe... It seems the American guys have better choices. Shame on Fanatec that don’t care about European customers...
That's not true Mario, more units were allocated to Europe, and they simply sold faster. We reallocated the distribution, but we are only doing this once!
DomB_Fanatec I apreciate you effort regarding this subject, but, as a customer who have bought from your more than a full hand of wheels, I think this kind of flash sales is telling me that no matter if you are a loyal customer or not you are treated as another one in the crowd. If we had set a requirement that you must have bought a certain number of Fanatec products to be eligible, you can be sure that the system would be seen as unfair by some. All of our wheels work on PS4 if connected to the correct base (CSL Elite Wheel Base + / Racing Wheel for PS4 or Podium Racing Wheel F1 for PS4).

@@SIMRIG412 27mm is the minimum size of f1 wheel, have you tried it ? In the real life, the average size is 29mm
