Hope your channel absolutely explodes when D2R is released... Would be such a great story on passion paying off (even though it seems now that you're fulltime streamer, that its paying off already)... Couldn't happen to a better dude!

I really appreciate how llama explains everything in all stages of the run through every difficulty. It is always helping all kinds of players even who is trying out the game for the first time and with blizzcon 2021 and D2R releasing soon, you can say we are looking soon towards a "reign of llama" all over YT and twitch :D
This is absolutely the best channel with content about Diablo 2 on UA-cam. Watching some walkthroughs, you can understand why this game is still being played and discussed, even after 20 years of release. And I really hope this channel will explode with subscribers when Diablo 2 Ressurected arrives, great job!
I remember making a Summon Druid and thought it was weird how much my +skills were helping, certainly helping more than 1 point should. Nearly 20 years later, I learn Druids get synergy from soft points. Neato
Said this to my wife when she was watching me download LOD from Blizzard the other day. I just had this itch that needed grinding and It's been a blast to be back in the saddle.
I played 8-10 hours a day minimum for 10 years, with plenty of 1-2 day binges and still played quite a lot over the next 10 years and up till today. On top of that I never once botted.
Mr.cheater here I thought your guided play through was ssf I know summon Druid is not the best build but you didn’t get plugy on the whirldwind barb and you hated it
This Summon Druid build is slow going, but has very high survivability. An Edge bow (level 25 ... Tir + Tal + Amn, Ladder Only, level 15 thorns aura) on an Act I mercenary is a viable alternative to the Act II Might mercenary. You can also grab the Act II mercenary and equip the Edge bow on your Druid. A Faith bow (level 65 ... Ohm + Jah + Lem + Eld, Ladder Only, level 12-15 Fanatacism) is the high level alternative to the Edge Bow.
- You can gamble a belt from lvl 3 or 6 or something, which can be handy/fun on slower/weaker characters. - Eye of Etlich amulet and Tarn helm are both lvl 15 req and both can drop at Andariel I think. - It is possible to bug Duriel for an offline character, which can be useful in nightmare and hell because Duriel has an even higher chance of dropping jewelry than Andariel does. Online it's pretty much useless because maps reset and you'd have to kill the summoner each time as well. You do have to be online to bug Duriel though (on TCP/IP). To do it you need to rush your character or have someone rush you. Set the rushee in the room with the orifice while Duriel is murdered by the rusher and then go in with the rushee and talk to eh... that angel dude to follow along the quest, only skipping the quest drop check because you weren't in the room when that was supposed to happen. It's quite some effort and offline you don't have realm down for quiting and entering a game over and over and the slight increase in jewelry isn't that great, so I wouldn't advice to do it, but you can and this is how. The other bosses can't be glitched offline unless you hero-unedit the quest every time you kill a boss, which is easy to mess up, overwriting that eth armor you just found and wanted to bug.
Summoner Druid was always my fav, but When I was still playing I found that it quickly tapered off in power once moved up to nightmare and hell difficulties... Wonder if that's the case still or if it's viable with all updates they've done.
I've been playing a hybrid summon/elemental melee druid. It ain't the strongest character on the planet, but it's fun. hurricane, wolves and ravens combined do put out some decent damage, at least in nightmare, gotta test it in hell now. maybe I'll put some points in werewolf or werebear later on if I get behind in damage or attack rating. nice guide, llama. keep up the awesome work
Synergies (mistakes in the video at 3:50): Spirit Wolves give AR and Defense, Dire Wolves give Life, and Grizzly Bear gives Damage. Summon All Resist: Increases by 5 per point in that summon. This works on ALL druid summons! Ideal Items You: Beast/HoTo/Spirit, Spirit Shield, +2 armor (Enigma/CoH/Rain/Arkaine's Valor), +3 Grizzly helm with Delirium, BK or SoJ rings, +3 summon amulet, Arachnid's Mesh belt, gloves and boots don't matter much. Torch, Anni, and Summon skiller GCs Merc (Might aura): Doom/Pride Vampire Gaze, Shaftstop/Treachery/Fortitude
I been playing a summon Druid and it's actually pretty good through nightmare even up to Baal in the old game. Two things I would suggest to anyone doing it would be to buy a teleport staff, a wand with Life Tap Charges and max Heart of Wolverine - if you are good enoygh with where you place ypur summons you can use them to protect your Merc while he does big work if you have him decked out with a decent weapon. Mine is 69 right now and I maxed Heart of Wolverine, Dire Wolf and Grizzly. I think you could do a hybrid with Fire Claws and be fine with a decent weapon and enough +Skills. Dark Clan Crusher is great to have early and clubs can get +Druid skills after a point. Scrounging through LK Normal or even the Countess Tower might be a good way to get a pelt with some sockets.
Wait... Mercenaries have/require stamina..? The things one learns from MrLlamaSC. I'm so glad you made these guides brother, they're going to absolutely blow up after Sept.
I have a summoner werebear. He actually does great in hell but then again he has a 3os eth tomb reaver and the summons largely act as distractions as I yeet all over mobs with a 15k damage maul.
Sup MrLlamaSC, I love your guides. Would you be interested to do some group building guides? Like best duo or interesting coop mix, that would be nice. Ty
I'm following along, with a slightly different build. I am including elemental skills to help assist the summons. I really never have been a fan of the shapeshifting skills. Perhaps I'll give it a try someday...20 years, right?! I just find the summons need support from the druid. I just don't think it will be easy in Hell. We'll see once we get to that point in the game. GG Mr. Llama!
Nice stuff man, I forgot staffs had skills like teleport :D I absolutely hate attack rating in D2 that's why I always went for spells based chars (except for Summon mancer obv :P).
My summon/werewolf druid is amazing at the moment (lvl 38) with the help of a Steeldriver 2h mace which was upgraded to Martel de fer (700-1100 dmg with just 85 strength required). I keep playing the game on /players 7 since I got it.
I hope D2R is successful enough so Blizz can reconsider continue to balance the game, so builds like these can be a little bit more feasible in higher dificulties
Every build is fine in fine. You just need levels or gear to make it work. Of course some are better, but every build is pretty much doable to a high degree. People just play the most efficient stuff because the more loot you get means the more chances at good gear
@@jonmacdonald2193 I believe my main issue with weaker builds is when they are neither viable OR fun. If a build is on the weaker side but pulling it off is fun because the skill looks good or the playstyle is unique, there is a payoff. But when a build/skill is just plain boring, I would rather see it buffed or reworked. When a build is strong but boring there is a design issue there as well
hi MrLlama, thank you for all your guides and your contribution towards the D2 community. I was wondering if you could elaborate on what you were discussing in this video (Timestamp: 2:38 - 3:30). To your knowledge, was this an intentional design mechanic of the original client of the game, and has it been changed/updated for D2R to apply to all class/builds?
Appreciate the video. Doing some last minute research inb4 the release. I was going to play softcore but decided yesterday to change to first character being on Hardcore, and thus also swapped form SoSo to DuDu. Felt like elemental druid was what I wanted to go BUT... I have also decided to alter that to summoner, atleast until later levels, but currently seems to be DuDu summoner that will be the way, to play with more defensives, such as wolves and shapeshifting for extra health, movementspeed and armor. Haven't played the game in a few years and even then, not alot. Will probably & hopefully be quite a few adrenalinepumping moments!
Anxious to see hell ancients on this one. Summon necro was brutal. I started a necro because of that one. But I decided to save 2 respecs just to do hell ancients with some other build then switch back
My dad was a mechanic for 30+ years, loved cars. Said gloves reduced the effectiveness of his fingers so he didn't wear them...ate with oil covered hands everyday at lunch due to oil being relatively hard to wash off
Did a Summon druid my self a couple of days ago. Maxed Spirit wolfs but had trouble with bosses because they got oneshot some times. But once I had the bear it was alright. Not sure how I'll get through nightmare tho. But I'm pretty sure the bear increases damage and the dire wolfs increase health.
as someone that made an alt for just about every possible build...Druid summoner was always a bit of a letdown in the end...fun until it sucks...Assassin build on the martial Arts tree are surprisingly entertaining, but same thing...fun until it sucks...I'd like to see you do an Assassin that doesn't do traps but does all those variations of combo points and finishers...it's a unique playstyle...they did send that to Wow with rogues and druids, but it never made it into D3 and looks like it won't be in D4 despite the possibilities with that Rogue coming back...the Assassin build with that finisher with the teleport and all the elements was actually pretty decent if I remember, that is if you don't mind that playstyle
I'm really loving your content! I've recently picked old school d2 back up and Im sure this has been answered already but I was just wondering how is your stash larger than normal?
