1:11:34 Eth rune won't make merc "lower defense even more". It's not a debuff that is applied to the monster, it's just a multiplier in HIS chance to hit formula. Just like the resist pierce on items like griffons not lowers the actual monster resist.
Llama said "so he can lower defence even more" meaning from the perspective of the merc. He never says that the monsters defense is reduced from the perspective of the barbarian. It isn't as clear of a statement as llama usually makes, but it's not necessarily incorrect.

Act 1 merc really helps with hitting things because of inner sight. Prefer it to blessed aim merc any day. When you already have 300% AR from your mastery and frenzy and dexterity, the extra 150% from is not as big of an increase as flat -300 armor from Inner sight. She literally reduces the defense of everything to 0 on normal, you don't even need to battle cry them. I am doing a barb right now in normal, I had 58% chance to hit nihlathak on the character sheet. But I hit him every time (despite him being level 68 and me 40)
Lvl 30 barb 50str 50dex, 10 sword mastery, 5 frenzy, 2x malice broadswords hitting nithlatak: 47% chance to hit with blessed aim merc. 50% with inner sight merc. 53% blessed aim + lvl1 battle cry. So it seems comparable, but blessed + battle cry wins in boss fights. But I would say Inner sight wins in regular map clearing.

@Oodles of Noodles having Sigon set or Lore runeword is hugely different from getting Shako or Spirit, but yeah just skip it and instead grind all your stuff from blizzard sorceress lol
I wonder how your gearing would turn out if you focused on using find item during your playthrough. You'd sacrifice some damage to put points into find item, but maybe the loot would be worth it.
It might add a bit of fun but it would be much slower getting any reasonably good drops due to the low MF and skill levels, plus killing speed much slower. Also it'd be much slower getting to the later difficulties where the actual good gear is, so ultimately the gear would be worse, and for longer!
If you keep up with levels (don't have too horrible chance to hit), once you get a couple points in frenzy it's more DPS to get 2 war hammers with some ED% from Hratli. They are slower but deal 2 times more damage than Malice Flail.
I was already a singer when killed baal with a wand with 20fcr and 74mana and a throwing axe with +1 to barb skill levels and holy hell the fight was super easy but it did take super long and couple of inventorys worth of mana pots 😂 did not have any crushing blow weaps and still don't have, currently shout farming nm countess and I'm really liking this singing barb..
You've probably already rocked one like me, but once you find warshrikes it's infinite ammo time. Can't remember the name of the throwing axe but with the two of them I was helping people kill clone Diablo no problems
Man when i played this as a kid it was my fantasy to be a powerhouse barb, swinging axes but i could never play him decently. I learned a lot watching your stream and its pretty unfortunate that for the 'unrivalled master in hand to hand combat' you are down to throwing flasks and chugging health potions all the time. He should be cleaving through the enemies and drinking their bodily fluids instead of health potions.
That new leap feels so good. Looking forward to seeing if you run A1 with insight or stick with A2. The P8 Duriel fight was great, and I am looking forward to these upgraded playthroughs. I want to see your updated run on Sorc before I have to do it solo come 2.4. Very much on the fence about FO/Hydra into Nova, or just Nova/FW straight through. Also A3 mercs need to be able to use staves.
I guess with the changes to mercs in 2.4 there's no reason to get your might merc early on. but I think holy freeze is better CC than A1 imo. I'd still go a2 for everything, Insight in an eth exceptional base just wrecks at 27.
When playing a Barbarian shields high defense armor and Shout alot occasionally putting into putting skill points into one point wonders and pre-requisites and remember the pattern 2 1 2 each lvl

These things led me to become a type 2 diabetic at age 53. Diagnosed at 58. Because I’d ignored the general advice given because it never applied to me. Until one day it did. And I couldn’t tell. Because I was inside the problem now. So. Do yourself a favour: once a month maximum nachos. Or. Special occasion nachos. And goodbye chips otherwise. Because diabetes 2 will catch up to you as you age.
Please please do a guided play through of the martial arts assassin pure tiger strike and dragon tail. Players 8 just by getting good damage boots and using them normal and Nm again players 8 sooooo much damage!
Watched a lot of ur vids & others. I’m interested in commentary regarding what items are junk and why (better rune words, can be bought from vendor easily, just not useful at all stat wise, etc). There are numerous vids on what items are good/decent/amazing but that’s not the same as a baseline of “this is just trash”. Especially rings & amulets. I bring this up because my inventory is constantly cluttered.
Awesome guide and super helpful. It's nice to see a video since it has more detail than a written guide. One question though: After getting frenzy do we build charges then double swing or only use frenzy? It seems like I attack much faster with double swing after getting frenzy charges
I haven’t but tons of people use EBOTD GPA for hell council farming I’ve heard using WW, like most barb builds I’d imagine you’d need some gear for it to be decent. Singer is the best through normal and nightmare and honestly WW with gear is great you can p8 the game relatively easy with some gear

@@entarork1 not sure why do you say that? Even baals defense can be reduced to 0 with inner sight. Also rogue has much better chance of staying alive

Been saving gear for this specific build. Got 2 heart Carver rondels and a barb helm with find item which should make things interesting.

I built a singer barb hit a hard wall of no Baal nightmare, so I just turned him into a gold find barb and spend my time doing trav runs lol

Double swing just seems like an inferior version of zeal. The only advantage is the potentially 0 mana cost.

In th original 2 I found the barbs raw power made the gam aier than others like assassin or amazon.
