  • Join me as I take a walk round an old 1870s Victorian house which became a museum.
I want to see if it’s possible to navigate a place like this with my low vision. Do we need sighted help for a day out like this or can we do it alone? This is a long video, so get yourself some snacks

This is a great video! I don’t know why you waited so long to open up a UA-cam channel and share all of this with all of us! You sound great and I am not able to see anything, however, you sound great and the content is quite interesting! It is great how they allow the blind and low vision to see with our hands. That is always quite helpful because this provides more info for us. These Victorian houses are very interesting, but I confess that when you described the bedrooms and what they called rooms for the servants took away the like for that place LOL! Don’t misunderstand me. YOu did an amazing video, but come on Trevor, that is a great example of social stratification! I didn’t think you would conclude with the same observations, but you did. I guess we are on the same page mi vida hahaha. Oh well, that is how it is right? This is how this world is. full of social classes and casts. Those places are a reminder and we still have these of course. By the way, I also like the whole thing about clocks and all those decorations they have, although it is sad how the servants had nothing????????

      Thank you so much.
It seemed like the time was really right to start my UA-cam channel and I’m always fascinated by all of this. I believe that it’s good to see all sides of this type of museum. I have enjoyed reading books by former workers in service. One of my particular favourites is aprons and silver spoons by a lady called Molly Moran. She was a kitchen made and cook at a couple of houses in the 1930s and it’s honestly a fascinating account. I believe that whatever we do, it’s good to listen to all sides of history and investigate as much as possible. I personally love the house as a fine example and a preserved example of the Times And I am proud that we do hold onto artefacts and history in Britain. I just think that if they owned this beautiful home it was essential for me to talk about those people who worked on a daily basis to keep that home clean and looking as beautiful as possible.
They are often the forgotten voices and hard workers of their Day and they definitely deserve a huge mention. Thank you mi vida for your huge insight into the video that I made here and I know there will be many more to come.
