The layering of fabrics, patterns, art, etc. lend an air of je ne chest quoi 😉to an interior. It feels sophisticated, brave, and somewhat rebellious to conventional decorating styles. I also believe it makes interiors more memorable; although one may not remember all the details, the feeling the space gives is never forgotten.

Love the new decor! In New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, at Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter, they serve Beignets and coffee with chicory. Their beignets remind me of your German treat. The difference seems to be that Cafe du Monde rolls & cuts their dough. They are so yummy! Have fun! God bless

My mother made the same treat but dipped them in a glaze, pure heaven! Kristen you are so lucky to have Joerg, his enthusiam and handyman skills are priceless.
My mother used to make something similar. The actual recipe is called Drop Doughnuts, but she came across the recipe around the time Russia launched Sputnik. Since the dough forms all kinds of weird spike-like shapes when you drop them in the oil she called them “ Sputniks” because the satellite had spikes. Gosh, I haven’t made them in years, mainly because the recipe makes too many and the house smells like oil for the rest of the week. But boy, are they good, especially fresh from the fryer!
Your home is adorable! The sweet treats you made are very similar to Loukoumades in Greece and we eat them with honey poured over them instead of powdered sugar! Both delicious.

As a kid growing up in Canada. We made those donut type things as well. We called themT balls and dipped the ball into maple syrup before popping into our mouths. They really are delicious. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

As a kid growing up in Canada. We made those donut type things as well. We called themT balls and dipped the ball into maple syrup before popping into our mouths. They really are delicious. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
