People preferred S4 over the others for the toddlers because how realistic it was, then don't like how the cat lies on the ground slowly dying from old age. Like an old cat on deaths door would be able to jump for a toy that high in the air. Also I found the hug gesture cute and all but also was ruined at the fact the cat was howling the whole time making it look like the cat hated the hug.
Death to pets: Oh, who's a good kitty/puppy??? You are! You want a toy? Want it? Go get it! Death to sims: alright, drowning again? Geez, let's just get this over with... NO YOU CAN'T HAVE THEM BACK.

I think the one thing that might have made Sims 4 pets worse than previous Sims games is being unable to see their needs. That annoys me. I've had pets in Sims 4 die because I couldn't figure out what their needs were. Though I would have a food bowl full of pet food constantly, sometimes they wouldn't autonomously eat. Second thing that made Sims 4 Pets worse than previous Sims games is not being able to control them. I gave my example of why we should be able to control them. I don't get why the devs over at Mxis/EA decided to take those functions away from Pets in Sims 4. I guess there's a plus side to Sims 4 Pets; I don't have to see or hear them wohoo.

The Red Plumbob EA said there was too many clipping issues in 2 & 3, while I agree some fluffy dogs didn't look too great in them I still wish they added them ;^;
I haven't seen any mods for them yet. I mean, I don't really care if there's clipping issues. Just another bug in Sims 4. Sims 4 is filled with issues.
Kitties! I like how in Sims 4 they can all look different -- gives the game a bit more variety. And them riding the robot vacuum is great. XD I still wish we had some of the toys from the older games though. Balls and wands are nice, but a little more would be fun.

The Sims 4 force too much safe zone on us. Can't see cats woohoo, can't scratch furnictures (not even affected by traits), etc. And no burglars! So pets can't fight them.

I do appreciate the ability to create kittens directly in create a sim in the sims 4 but I think sims 3 wins this round. Being able to play with your cat at the wall toy, cats being able to mark their humans, kittens being able to snuggle their mom or dad in a big pet bed, and of course the final hug from the grim reaper are things I adore. Edited to add: credit to the sims 4 for being able to make foxes and raccoons for pets
If you go to a site like cdkeys they can be a little cheaper. Most will be like $17 so you save about $3, but there was one time one of the expansion packs was going for $10. xD (Just makes sure to actual keep in mind the type of pack it is because the 'game packs' can actually be priced higher then ea's official price.) So maybe something to look into if you do like getting an expansion pack every once in awhile and would like at least a few dollars off.~

lol no idea why your 3 kittens in sims 4 were so different. In 4 I had a sphinx and 'two faced' cat (two faced cats are very rare and one side of the face is black and other side is another color. I think one two faced named venus actually had different dna on different sides of his body :o but don't quote me lol. Search up venus the two faced cat it's interesting) and they had triplets. The girls looked like the sphinx father and the boy looked like the two faced mother, other than the one of the girl's coat screwing up (she had pink & blue coloring like sphinx's skin but had hair xD) they all looked very similar. (can we also just take a minute to appreciate that you actually put your opinions in the descriptions? I really enjoy reading them when I remember! but actually, how many people even read the desc? lol)
I think the Pets genetic in Sims 4 are kinda screwed, as shown in this vid. You'll generally get a clone of one of the parents or a randomized oddball (the brown one). The sims 4 sims genetic's isn't really better, I saw it in the 100 babies challenge: They're all clones of one of the parents, the oddest being several sets of twins that never ever looked the same at all - really 100% opposite -.- - broken genetics, yeah.

And usually not only one is the parent. The Mom then generates kittens for different fathers. And I ain't joking, they really do have kittens from different fathers. But yeah, this doesn't make any sense between two cats only, I think they did this out of lazyness. I'ts easier to generate random kittens on the game code rather than picking colors and sliders from the parents.
