  • Make these Vegan Croissants (or send this video to someone who owes you a favor😉)
✨ PRINTABLE RECIPE (vegan croissants 3 ways - classic, cheese, and chocolate): www.marystestkitchen.com/how-...
You can make delicious, flaky and buttery vegan croissants at home! Dairy-free classic French croissants, cheese croissants or pain au chocolate (chocolate croissants) are all within your reach. Plus, the steps to make proper vegan croissants are simple and the results are so satisfying. But the whole process takes 3 days (2 if you really squeeze things) so get your ingredients and start now!
    🥐Vegan Croissant-making Timeline🥐
Day 1 - Make dough square 10.25″ (26 cm) & butter square 7.5″ (19 cm) and chill overnight
Day 2 - Wrap butter square with dough and laminate (roll out to 24″x 8″ or 60 cm x 20 cm, make a series of folds 3 times, chilling at least 30 minutes up to 24 hours between each “turn”) resulting in 64 layers.
    Day 3 - Shape dough ( 43″ x 8″ or 110 cm x 20 cm), cut & roll, let rise (2 hours), and bake about 30 minutes total
See the blog post for more details: www.marystestkitchen.com/how-...
    🥐Does this look familiar?🥐
Hi. It's me again. I'm back.
    Let's talk ASAP.
    I mean, ..
If this recipe looks familiar, it's because I posted it long ago BUT this is my "creator's cut." This tutorial is straight to the point with no extra fluff or outside influence while the other one was nearly a half hour long!
Pro tip, never watch your old videos or you'll want to re-do them all!
BTW thanks for all the positive messages on my last two creator's cuts (vegan juicy burgers and the best vegan fried chicken). It was so nice hearing about how its been a part of your lives over the years and how you've made them all your own. I hope you enjoy this one as much 🥰
    Cheers,
    Mary
P.S. Sorry, I haven't figured out how to make them keto yet. But I haven't given up hope and neither should you. Also, chickpea things are a-comin'.

Guys! Try to find vegan butter that's at least 80% fat. Unfortunately a lot of vegan butters (tubs AND sticks) are close to 60% fat and that extra water gives you an inferior croissant (if you've struggled with vegan buttercream, cookies, or laminated doughs that weren't quite right, the extra water is the culprit). If you can find FLORA PLANT BUTTER, buy it! There are other high quality brands but I think that's the one that's most widely available. Happy baking!

@@mia-om3qj search on the package. If not, go to manufactures website and search there. Otherwise use coconut oil - refined for neutral taste, unrefined for coconut flavour (only good for sweet croissants, you don't want cheese croissants to taste like coconut 😅)

I made these once, when you posted the original recipe years ago, and though they were delectable, they were so much work even for me, a trained culinarian, that it was forbidding. A couple of days ago, I happened upon the transcript of the recipe that I had noted down in a little recipe notebook--4 PAGES!--and worked from that time, and chuckled thinking about when I'd have the time to watch the video again and make these . . . and here you are, reminding me how much I loved the results. And also how much I respected you for filming this while dealing with a chronic health issue in your arms; I shouldn't be a sook about doing this. Thanks for posting : )

I made these! They were amazing! At first glance it looks complicated, but it really isn't. It takes some planning though. Mix the dough on any night of the week after dinner, do the laminations on Friday night, (or spread it over several nights). Then you have a dough ready for Saturday morning to shape, proof and bake ❤❤❤

Oh, to watch this has been like a kind of baking meditation, thank you 🤗 In Germany we have a savory version that is like a crossing between Croissant and Brezel (called "Laugencroissant") and it's absolutely delicious ... maybe I will find the courage to try recreating this...sometimes!

Amazing recipe! Better than any others I've tried! If you're looking for something else to test, I'd love to make danishes but know that danish dough contains egg. I've heard you can make danishes with croissant dough, but that danish dough is more sturdy which is important for adding filling. I might try a recipe and replace eggs with Just Egg. Have you ever tried this? Thanks again for so much awesome content!
