A lot tastier than red lentils, in my opinion, give this a try if you like a bit extra iron and protein per serve. Brian Johnson (antiaging BLUEPRINT) eats 300g cooked per day!
    Recipe weight/macros
1 cup of DRY lentils = 800g of lentil tofu
    per serve: 3 servings (250g)
    17g pro
    250cals
    6mg of iron
    Benefits
highest total antioxidant capacity when they are compared to chickpeas, common beans and soybeans, MICROS,
high in potassium content (1:30 ratio of sodium and potassium)
3-8mg of iron per 100g, studies showing to prevent iron def anemia.
The seed coats of lentils have a higher amount of flavan-3-ols, proanthocyanidins and some flavonols
Reductions of the glycemic index from the diet are due to the presence of polyphenols in the lentils that have been linked with health-promoting impacts on metabolic disorders

Hey mate, awesome video. Ive just recently went plant based and following Bryan Johnsons anti aging/longevity protocol for nutrition and supplements. One of the meals he promotes called super veggie uses black lentils as a base. Id love for you to break down the meal and maybe add your own touch without changing it too much, the way he does it is pretty boring and bland. P.s youre gonna blow up mate, very top notch videos. Everyone that does a video on Bryan Johnsons meals tends to get a decent anount or views would be awesome to see you cover the super veggie and nutty pudding and to see if you can make it more exciting to eat. Subbed btw, im gonna try make this tofu recipe for the super veggie meal in his protocol

Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it. And yes the super veggie is unsustainable, give me a couple weeks, I’m coming out with your requested video! Great idea 🔥 I’ll give you variations with the same ingredients, that still has the benefits that blueprint is aiming for.

Why are people so obsessed with protein.
You can only absorb 20 grams at a time anyways.
It's funny seeing bodybuilders consume a ton of protein in one meal thinking it's going to build more muscle.

    • @mikeseeksnutrition
      @mikeseeksnutrition  Місяць тому +2

That has truth to it, but when you included digesting duration, we can consume a larger portion of protein in one sitting, if it includes fibre and other macronutrients, it can take up to 5 hours for your body to completely digest. Slower digestion allows for greater absorption. People stress to much about the protein amount to build muscle, rather they should be focusing on the stimulus.

This is NOT typical tofu! Typical tofu has the starch removed by some process.
This is Shan or Burmese style tofu.
Certainly very delicious & nutritious, but unique and different from typical tofu especially in texture.
You really should include this important fact in the video title, or at the very least mention it near the beginning of the video.

I didn’t know that, Thanks for letting me know!! Removing the starch sounds like a process 😂
