2005 Astros might have the best pitching to not win it all, Roger Clemens, Roy Oswalt, Andy Pettitte, Brandon Backe, Brad Lidge,

White Sox just were one step ahead of them. This series shouldn't had been a sweep. All four games were close.
Both teams were evenly matched but the White Sox had slightly better lineup and more situational hitting with how deep their lineup and roster was.
That 2005 White Sox team was hungry for a World Series title in 88 years. I remember this World Series. They were too deep and very good core of talented players that were goof at what they did.
This series should have went 7 games but this all came down to situational hitting and White Sox excelled while their rotation and lineup was too deep. White Sox had a complete team from 1 to 25.

@@Melbester9 keep in mind, the white Sox cheated in this World Series (legally)

@thepoisonouspotato3631 How? I don't remember them cheating in World Series at all. Don't forget that 2005 ALCS Game 2 vs Angels when Pryrzinski was struck out by Kelvim Escobar and umpires didn't call a strikeout as he ran to first base as a strike out passed ball for last out of 9th.
Game would have went to extra innings and Angels ended up losing to Crede double in 9th. That changed the whole series and White Sox went 4-1 to win ALCS.
That strikeout passed ball call on HP Umpire changed the Angels momentum that series. Would have been 2-0 LAA lead. Instead rhe White Sox tied the series at 1-1 and won next 3 in Anaheim.
White Sox had a deep team. Podsesnik was a great base stealer. They had veteran Jermaine Dye from 1996 Braves in WS. It was his second WS appearance. They had Buehrle their ace who had a great career with White Sox with perfect game and 200+ wins.
You also had deep well rounded power lineup with HOF Frank Thomas & Paul Konerko & Juan Uribe. Tadahito Iguchi from Japan at 2B and Aaron Rowand with AJ Pyrzinski & Carl Everett.
Plus Bobby Jenks was a beast at closer that threw gas fast balls like Mason Miller of Oakland As today. Decent bullpen with Cotts and other relievers and they had El Duque Orlando Hernandez.

@@Melbester9 yeah I know what happened in ALCS game 2, basically the white Sox knew the Astros signs, they just somehow figured out their signs and used it against them, so they legally stole the signs, it’s only illegal if there is electronic assistance being used
