Honestly, love every single Pentatonix video every. But you really, really need to check out their Daft Punk video. It is older, back when Avi Kaplan (original member) was their bass. You will NOT believe how low Avi can go. Also check out Kevin’s solo stuff where he is celloboxing. It will amaze you. 😊
@@dicodec And, if you really, really want to hear him not only sing, but play cello, and beatbox. Go on his solo YT channel "Kevin Olusola". There he does his live looping "KOvers", as well as original compositions. One in particular, 'Down' by Marion Hill, is truly epic featuring a face-melting electric cello solo. Truth be known, Kevin is probably the most talented member of the group. Having been featured at Carnegie Hall while still in high school on both cello and saxophone.
@@jayholland2632 I have watched 100+ people react to Kevin's performance on his channel and I have not found one, not one person who wasn't impressed and astounded by him.
They do not pitch correct. The percussionist guy as you call him rarely sings in beat heavy songs. He is a tenor who plays concert level cello and saxophone and plays piano and assists in arranging
Not sure if anyone mentioned this or if you're interested but Pentatonix just dropped a cover of Mad World on Wednesday!? Its a true 5 point harmony cover! No beatboxing in this one and it sounds incredible! Very haunting 😮 and you get that unique Pentatonix wall of sound that is so beautiful and powerful! My favorite wall of sound is the one in Imagine where they literally sound like one voice which was the message of the cover!
Welcome to the new world of a capella. Pentatonix and Home Free have rewritten the book on a capella worldwide. All of the suggestions for more songs to listen to are great. Pentatonix has 3 Grammys, one for their "Daft Punk Medley", one for their" Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies", and one for basically being Dolly Parton's backup band(?) on "Jolene". Also, try "Imagine" (John Lennon), "Bohemian Rhapsody" (Queen), "Hallelujah" (Leonard Cohen),"Mad World" (Tears for Fears), and of course, any of their Christmas music. For Home Free may I recommend their "Man of Constant Sorrow", "Will the Circle be Unbroken" (Johnny Cash), and my favorite, "Helplessly Hoping" (Crosby, Stills & Nash) (and then a quarantined Italian Youth Choir's cover of Home Free's arrangement).
I love your commentary! Watching people discover PTX is one of my favorite things🥰 I’d love to see what you think of one of their live videos. My favorites are Evolution of Ariana Grande and Gold.
BlitzofChaos Gaming is right, Aha! Singapore is the dessert to the dinner of Pentatonix dinner. It can only be TRULY appreciated with more PTX under ur belt
Dicodec don’t listen to these fools, you’ve seen Dimash already, best singer ever. Everything else can be seen now there’s no order for how to watch PTX videos people are just picky 🙄
Great reaction! Of course, the audio was recorded in a studio, but it is all just them making all the sounds (acapella). The guy you liked in the white jacket is the only new member to the band. He is their bass guy and replaced their original bass Avi. The new bass is Matt.
Welcome to PTX. Great reaction and I hope you’ll do more of their music. They have tons of material and you will not be disappointed. Thanks for posting. Subbed!
Just a couple of guys named Simon and Garfunkel... As for PTX this was just the tip of the iceberg. PTX has great covers and great original songs too. 3 x Grammy winners.
Yeah! This one is a phenomenal. You might want to check out their version of Bohemian Rhapsody and many more amazing stuffs. I will assure you, they will blow your mind.
Awesome reaction! No auto tune for this group. It definitely is a capella. Please please please react to their Daft Punk Medley. It won them their first Grammy
Shocked you hadn't heard Pentatonix. Their classic song is Bohemian Rhapsody. An extremely modern song that amazes is "Aha". Recommend you react to both of those.
Great reaction 🔥🔥! If you plan on doing more PTX then start with the big hits, Bohemian Rhapsody and Hallelujah. Or their Grammy winning song Daft Punk (a Daft Punk medley). 👍
OMG! You guys do not know what you have stumbled onto! They do an AMAZING cover of Hallelujah that you guys must check out. I have subscribed just to hear your reaction to it❣️. They also cover Bohemian Rhapsody and John Lennon’s Imagine as well as Daft Punk which they won a Grammy for. Can’t wait to see/hear you again!
Great Reaction! Welcome down the Pentatonix rabbit hole! We fans call ourselves Pentaholics. FYI: There is no lead & there are no egos in this group. They equally share the spotlight when a song calls for it. Their arrangements are industry leading by Ben Bram. Their layers add amazing depth to a song. What makes them unique is that EACH of them has such a wide vocal range. Kevin is the inventor of cello-boxing (playing the cello and beatboxing at the same time)! SO MANY GREAT songs to choose from! They have won 3 Grammys and tour the world. They have redefined acapella for a new generation!
Also will you do a reaction to GUY.exe by Superfruit. And how many people can say that the saw the Brains, the woman's arm and hand, the Flux capacitor with the figurine of the Liongate Lion on it, and the receptacle with the nuclear symbol above it. Did you see whos name was on the computer for creating the GUY program?
Love watching all reacts to 1st time ptx. Please do more reaction to Pentatonix (PTX) you shod listen to same song recorded and live. No difference. They are flipping amazing. Avi the baritone did go on his own Matt replaced he is incredible as well.
Pentatonix: 5 (6 with the original Bass Avi Kaplan until 2017) gifted super talented, hardworking artists, singers, performers. They are sooooo versatile. They cover such a variety of styles and do it masterfully. They also write originals. Enjoy the ride. 🤗
Pentatonix almost always makes a song better. They don't use autotune. Not even live. My favs are Hallelujah, Bohemian Rhapsody and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Hope to see more!
React to PTX And they will come! All the Pentaholics (fans)Your subs will sky rocket! I subbed bc of! All the suggestions below are legit. I have not heard any bad song yet by them and they have their own channels on youtube. Scott and Mitch Super Fruit, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Osuala Beatboxer (KO), Avi Kaplan (he left the group in 2017 due to his mother having cancer treatments and the tours with scheduled shows was too much at the time. He found Matte Sallie to replace him.) Matte doesn't have a channel yet I don't think. Looking forward to more PTX and your reactions. They were great! PTX I heard have half million subs and millions of viewers! Stay Safe!
You've got a new subscriber 💜I came for dimash reaction but I'm staying for pentatonix reactions... Y'all they're crazy talented ... Please do more reactions of them... They're 3 times Grammy winner a capella group... Just quick intro - ptx was formed in 2011 The guy who started is Scott hoying he is baritone but can hit some pretty good bass notes and overall versatile singer. He has a range of 4octaves. Next is Mitch Grassi the second guy who sang he is a tenor with unbelievable range and can really high . He originally is countertenor with freaking 5 octaves .. The beatboxer / percussion guy is Kevin Olusula who is really great and sometimes when he sings his placement is tenor ... He has surprisingly good range since not been trained in singing.. he is a cello player and has made songs using beatboxing and playing cello calling it "celloboxing" he has released his own songs too might want to check them out The lady out there is Kirstie Maldonado who is mezzo soprano and has some killer vocals which have developed since doing Broadway and other stuff The last guy with white jacket is Matt . He is a new member who replaced the original bass guy. The original bass guy was - Avi Kaplan he is a musician, vocalist and a natural bass with 3 octave range . Please please please react to their stuff - Daft punk -(Grammy winning song) Bohemian rhapsody Hallelujah Say something Can't hold us Gold No Problem Cheerleader...
@@dicodec it's more than fire. Kevin is supremely talented. in Down he beatboxes, plays electric cello (I think that's what it's called), sings...with looping...it's crazy-good! :)
And now you guys reacting PTX? Is this for real?! The longer I follow your uploads the more I realize that you guys basically reacting to my entire playlist! HAHAHA! 🥰😂
Wrong. There is no autotune. What you are hearing is the 5 of them, singing and beatboxing. They don't enhance. Look up their live performances and you will see. Their policy is to not record anything that they cannot perform live.
You should listen to their Daft Punk melody and Bohemian Rhapsody it has the original Bass Avi you will love him! But thanks for your reaction. Please keep them coming 🙏
If you haven't already you want to contrast this to disturb cover of Simon and Garfunkel sound of silence. It's a bit different from what disturbed usually does and took them a few years to come up with A version that they were happy with. Please drive into Pentatonix catalog. Hallelujah has over 5Million views. The African American who sang on this video is matt. He replaced avi who you will see In videos up to 2017 when he left the group for personal reasons. They're all still very friendly and Avi has pursued his own career. Hi Picked matt as his replacement. You also want to watch death punk Which they won I think it was their 1st Grammy. They have 3 Grammy's. The other is for Dance of the sugar plum fairy where you really get to hear the full range of all 5Members. Daft punk was Made on a budget of $400 in a closet and kitchen on an iPad. That's how you make a Grammy award song. Then listen to bohemian rhapsody. They dropped an original called happy now and just dropped a cover for mad world.
you guys seem pretty cool :) I'd love for you to react to more PTX. and yes, they are acapella except for when Kevin the beatboxer plays cello and beatboxes at the same time. a few favs are Hallelujah, Imagine, Bohemian Rhapsody, Daft Punk, Mad World, Evolution of Michael Jackson... but, everything they do is superb!
More Pentatonix reactions, please! They are phenomenal! No autotune, no instruments (except for the beatboxer, Kevin, occasionally playing the cello and 2 songs featuring violinist Lindsey Stirling), and nothing on their videos that they can't reproduce live. I most highly recommend their covers of Hallelujah, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Daft Punk, along with their originals Love Again and Sing. All of those are with their original bass, Avi Kaplan, who is absolutely astonishing. For songs with Matt (the guy all the way to the left that you liked), choose Havana, Come Along, Happy Now, or their brand new one, Mad World. Welcome to the wonderful world of Pentatonix!
@@dicodec He is not even the bass (in this video that is the guy in the white jacket and that guy is not the original bass that can go lower then him).
So glad you did this reaction, can tell you had an appreciation for their a cappella skills. Hope you do more Pentatonix, your fan base will quadruple if you react to them often. They make an effort not to use any auto tune etc because they want their studio and live versions to sound the same. You ought to check out Hallelujah, it has over 550 million views or their newest release of Mad World that just chocked up over one million views in one day. Also, their Daft Punk Medley won them their first Grammy. Their Bohemian Rhapsody is awesome!
Please do more PTX - Bohemian Rhapsody, Imagine are some of their best. They have around 200 songs but a very early one that is truly amazing is Dog Days are Over which they did on the A Capella TV Show The Sing Off
I respect Jo's opinion, but I would not recommend watching that until you have made ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that you don't want to watch the other performances. This was the last of the competitive songs, and it was the pinnacle of their work and a sort of birth into what they are now. Taking that journey with them is really amazing. If you never will watch the series, then yes, it's a good indicator of what they can do live -- just remember 3 of them were 19 at the time, and they have continued to hone their skills over the past decade!
Unless you can see an instrument on screen, there isn’t one being used. Have seen this live, if anything it sounds fuller, which 🤯 And DEF not pitch correction. Their natural pitch is mind boggling. Check out the live version of Hallelujah from their Christmas special, to really get a sense of how slick and flawless their natural sound and blend is.
Dicodec some great examples that show a wide range of their abilities are: - Love Lockdown, Let’s Get It On, Born To Be Wild and Dog Days Are Over, from their time on The Sing Off (baby PTX, finding their niche and sound) - Say Something, lead for Kirstie and a beautiful example of Kevin “cello boxing” - Imagine and Can You Feel The Love Tonight - walls of harmony to blow your hair back - Daft Punk Medley - like.... HOW? Also their first Grammy winner - I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You and When The Party’s Over - subtle, dreamy perfection - Hallelujah Live, Imagine and Bohemian Rhapsody, to just knock your damn socks off.
All of these guys started out in an octave lower than they normally use (except the guy to the far left in the white jacket. He's normally their bass and goes clear to basso profundo.) The ending was more their normal octave. I wonder sometimes how people in the active music world have never even heard of Pentatonix when they've been around more than ten years and fill stadiums on world tours. Just a few days ago they released a new one, "Mad World", and it's stupendous. You'll thank yourself a lot if you give it a listen.
Thanks for the reaction, I love to see new people discover pentatonix. Their name came from the pentatonic scale, they changed the c to an x. Please, more pentatonix reaction.
Lol Scott really does have an awesome range, but y'all haven't seen Avi yet! (Unless you have, in which case, nevermind lol) Avi was their original bass, he left the group a few years ago, which is when Matt (the guy in the white jacket in this video) joined.
Welcome to the "a Capella" rabbit hole, and because you mentioned Japan and if you are also going to check out "Home Free' (and you really should), you have to check out their tribute band from Japan named "Shogo Free" they're awesome. And don't forget to check out Home Free's "Butt's Remix" while you're at it, (yes I said Butt's) you wont be disappointed. I promise.
I loved your reaction! You added some great commentary - and I like both PTX and Disturbed's versions, depends on my mood which I listen to :-) Subbed so I can see more, especially more PTX, but I'll def check out your other videos. Great suggestions in the comments already, but just check out their website and choose something you like or find jnteresting!
Any of the people in PTX (Including Kevin the beatboxer) are world class singers. The fact that they can layer, mesh, and step out of each other's way (vocally) so flawlessly makes them the Voltron of vocal groups to me.
Subscribed, more Pentatonix please. They're the best a cappella group on the planet and have won 3 Grammys. Their 1st had been a Daft Punk medley, I believe you'll love that!!
Yup yup, Alan was just messing with me because I tend to listen to more modern music haha. Appreciate you coming in clutch with the info though fam. ✌❤
They are the Keepers of Acapella , that is getting rare these days. 2 of them were on the FBE channel reacting to Babymetal, and they said they should do a Babymetal cover. As far as I know they haven't done it yet. A bonus is that Su, Moa, and Yui reacted to their reaction! Both videos are still up on UA-cam. Song was written by Paul Simon and original recording was by Simon and Garfunkel, #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in Dec, 1965. Nice change of pace guys. You should hear Hallelujah, Bohemian Rhapsody, Imagine and Radioactive, you will hear the incredible range and a couple of them were recorded when the original Bassist was still there Avi, HIS voice is incredible! Once you start listening to them you can’t stop
Scott (who is nominally their lead singer) has a crazy vocal range. When their bass is on lead (in this case, Matt), Scott takes the bass line. The beat-boxer Kevin rarely sings - but when he does, he takes tenor. Kirstie has always been good, but after a short time on Broadway, her voice and projection ability have radically improved. The short dark-haired guy is Mitch, who sings high tenor. If you want to see versatility, find their Daft Punk medley.
A cappella group. Beatboxer. Mitch the second singer is a counter tenor. You should listen to Hallelujah and Mary Did You Know. Auto tune and pitch shifting I don't hear it at all. Even in their live performances they sound the same. The guy in the white jacket is their actual bass singer. He replaced Avi their original bass singer.

the only thing i hear Autotune in is their (0's medly and it is done purposefully to pay homage to the original.

If you want to hear Kevin, the beatboxer sing, check out Imagine - THX for your reaction!
Thank you for watching! Also for the suggestion fam ✌

Krista Gerry. YES! YES! YES!
Yes love it. Listened to it 6 times on my way to work, 2 times in work on my way home from work love love it
It's amazing and so appropriate for the times.

I have seen Pentatonix and Home Free live and they are both as amazing live as they are in the studio versions!

You've got a new subscriber 💜I came for dimash reaction but I'm staying for pentatonix reactions... Y'all they're crazy talented ... Please do more reactions of them... They're 3 times Grammy winner a capella group... Just quick intro - ptx was formed in 2011
The guy who started is Scott hoying he is baritone but can hit some pretty good bass notes and overall versatile singer.
He has surprisingly good range since not been trained in singing.. he is a cello player and has made songs using beatboxing and playing cello calling it "celloboxing" he has released his own songs too might want to check them out
The lady out there is Kirstie Maldonado who is mezzo soprano and has some killer vocals which have developed since doing Broadway and other stuff
The last guy with white jacket is Matt . He is a new member who replaced the original bass guy.
The original bass guy was - Avi Kaplan he is a musician, vocalist and a natural bass with 3 octave range .
Please please please react to their stuff -
Daft punk -(Grammy winning song)

Spaceydoodle AND, he’s fluent in Mandarin Chinese
Kevin is not just super talented, he's super smart too. He graduated pre-med from Yale and gave up med school to join PTX.
And now you guys reacting PTX? Is this for real?!

I have some live recordings, Im a little far back.....but you can tell its all just real voices. Oh, and check out KEVIN the beat boxer's " Cello Boxing" he's a classically trained cellist.
ill see if I can share
You should hear Hallelujah, Bohemian Rhapsody, Imagine and Radioactive, you will hear the incredible range and a couple of them were recorded when the original Bassist was still there Avi, HIS voice is incredible! Once you start listening to them you can’t stop
This and Shallow are my favorite songs with the new PTX lineup! Kirsty is powerful on both!
If you want to see versatility, find their Daft Punk medley.
you should check Bohemian Rapsody from Pentatonix if you want to see all thier talent..
Accusing PTX of autotune is about like accusing a rabbi of eating bacon, in terms of internet reactions... I hope the responses aren't too harsh. :-)
It blows my mind that anytime someone sings *good* the first thing people say is 'auto-tune'
have ever actually heard auto-tune? it sounds like crap!
