The thumbnail made it look like the terrible TBOI Rebirth antialiasing but in video it looks really good, as other pointed out the animations looks a bit strange but it's because of expectations regarding art styles mostly
Yeah I had to zoom in a lot for the thumbnail otherwise the difference wouldn't have been noticeable due to the low resolution and display scale. I actually thought of lowering the framerate and then use a software like DAIN to interpolate the frames and maybe get smoother animations. But in the end I think this would have looked better and using AI would probably have added artifacts.
@@NKY5223 I'm pretty sure it's possible, it would be like applying some sort of post process. I used the algorithm in python and the game is coded in C#, the original algorithm was made in C++ and I don't know how to code in any of these two languages. I also don't know how to mod Celeste but because of the very big modding community it might not be too hard to learn. The algorithm might actually be available (or remade) in C# so I'm guessing it should be possible without a ton of work but I'm not currently planning on making that :/
Wasn't looks it like before? Jokes aside I would definitely would play it if it wasn't for it's "pixel-loving" appearance. I know the style and so on and love the nostalgia and all, but it don't look good to me. In fact while I'm curious about Celeste gameplay and mechanics, I just can't stand it's appearance. It's too much pixels for me.
@@Proletarius87 what the hell? Celeste is one of the prettiest games I've ever seen. Pixel art is an artstyle and stylistic choice, and if you don't like it that's fine, but saying it looks like a mobile game is crazy.
cursed beyond comprehension
I know 💀
looks pretty normal
I'd rather say now it's look playable.
I love this. Well, i know how my next project is going to look.
Makes it feel like a flash game
Bro installed the faithful texture pack
It looks kinda weird, but I think a game with that style would be cool
Celeste: rubber edition
Cool, now redo all textures by hand.
weirdly, it reminds me of snes games walkthroughs that had this exact same filter or that minecraft 16x16 texture pack
It seems like some emulators uses this algorithm to upscale games, also this texture pack uses xBRZ as well! modrinth.com/resourcepack/vanillaxbr
This is exactly how im making my game like.
Do you have some footage?
Something between blessed and blursed.
this is the worst thing ive ever seen thank you for your sacrifice
:)
it looks like high-res minecraft resource packs
Some texture pack uses the same algorithm as in the video!

@@glaseeze No it's better this way, IMO I would straight up just add text saying " Actually good looking "
@@YexprilesteR I mean looking at the feedback I really have no idea if people enjoy it or not 💀
@@glaseeze Mixed reactions, I like it though it looks better than I expected
At first I thought I hated it, but.... it actually doesn't look bad. In fact, that blobby appearance of things does have a lot of charm imho
Lokks like mindustry theme
blursed celeste
And then I dumped the game into ak AI upscaler!
faithful 32x
I kinda like it. Would this be possible as a mod ingame?
I will dig into that, I might be able to change the game textures instead of changing the whole frames of the recording.
But I'm pretty sure a lot of the effects used in the game aren't textures and still pixel art, such as the light around Madeline.
@@glaseezecould you grab the frame after its rendered and apply the effect (and draw it back on)

I can't tell if this is good or awful
i should be able to both like and dislike a youtube video
