Even tho it's a 9 yr old comment, it's nice to see someone else throw McGrath name out there. The man is part machine I swear. Him and Ken made a helluva team
Funny thing, they've both played in Nevermore. They both auditioned for Megadeth, and after Jeff was denied for "being too young," and Chris was chosen, Jeff took his place in Nevermore.
@Curious6Kevin9 first note? lol if we are talking about the root note of the sweep, its the note on the B string pretty much xD but if its figuring out the first note of the sweep (like pitch) i cant help you D:
@wintershadows its just that some of us dont "have ear".it takes time to develop them,so we just look for tabs because we have fun playing :D getting things by ear will take quite a while :P
@GibsonGuitarist1022 Yeah, between your ears =) It shouldn't be hard to figure out, he plays it slowly and the camera is focused on the fretboard. Here is a little head-start: E minor, D major, C major, B major. And by little hint I mean big giveaway...
@kickingkrank I'm the same wqay dude, I love my MH400, but I would save for years for that guitar. Seriously, no matter how much it costs, I'll wait all of my life for it to put itself ever so gently in my loving hands.
So and now listen to: Bullet for my Valentine: Eye of the Storm (Scream Aim and Fire) The Solo is so qual to his arpeggios but only with the first 3 strings. But he does it much better and faster. I like this one more and i know that BFMV and Jeff Loomis are that different classes of music. I just wanted to show you the solo :D.
@Curious6Kevin9 well.. if you are going to compose.. just add a bullshit whole note (long note) and switch your pick before switching into sweeps :0 or whatever lmao its generaly what i do.. but my pick is VERY specific (i use sand paper to make it how i want) so i dont get issues :DD but my pick is made from animal bone.. so it lasts forever also
@wintershadows Asking for a tab is not an admission of inability. Perhaps he wanted a tab because he just didn't feel like tabbing it out? There's nothing wrong with that.
@rckr68 actually, believe it or not, theres guys that make loomis look horrible. go watch guthrie govan vids. the guys plays complicated jazz shred fusion lines at 16 notes per second and hes not even a shredder. hes extremely soulful. amazing phrasing. if you go on his site, you can see a quote from loomis about guthrie's album!
Wow. I was scrolling through the comments here and for the first time saw a prompt for me to rate a comment. I guess UA-cam is asking us to rate comments now? Luckily there was an option to close it. I hope they keep track of how many people press the "X". Please don't rate comments.
Ah, finally something for beginners
Umm... Yeah for beginners..
Hahahahaha
I never laughed the whole day until I saw this
man... he really is one of the best sweepers on the planet. he is ridiciously clean, you can hear every single note!
Jeff sweeps so damn good he would make a hell of a janitor.
warm up for your arpeggio use....riiiight :)
jeff loomis: "do this.." *his slow speed is my normal speed* jeff loomis: "now lets bring it up to speed quick.." *i freak out."
I have the same guitar but i still can't play that,,, i don't get it
and now ? u can?
Now? Can you?
Can You? Now? Stop being a disgrace.buck up
Its been 4 years what about now bro
What about now can you?! Can u bro?
one of the best guitar hero on the history of guitar
Yeah, this position helped me play alot better (it gets really hard to reach high frets normally!)
And it replicates standing up better!
he is so amazing
jeff loomis and buzz mcgrath are the best damn janitors ever
Even tho it's a 9 yr old comment, it's nice to see someone else throw McGrath name out there. The man is part machine I swear. Him and Ken made a helluva team
i heard him talk for a first time and hes got such humble voice and nice personality
I saw and met Jeff Loomis last night on his clinic tour :D
for sweeps he uses his neck pick up, he told us it cleans the sound right up :)
BEAUTIFUL!!!
God i love Jeff Loomis..fixing to get his sig guitar and he inspires me because jes so cool yet so fucking badass \m/!!
I really really really really really really want a tab of this!
Funny thing, they've both played in Nevermore. They both auditioned for Megadeth, and after Jeff was denied for "being too young," and Chris was chosen, Jeff took his place in Nevermore.
Beautiful!
Omfg. his sweep picking is so flawless. mines like crap. Respect to loomis
I'm totally getting a Jeff Loomis 6-string from Schecter just because of this video. I'm not kidding.
Same here, and I'm already pretty happy to get to that speed :D
the tone is awsome
@Curious6Kevin9 first note? lol if we are talking about the root note of the sweep, its the note on the B string pretty much xD but if its figuring out the first note of the sweep (like pitch) i cant help you D:
brutal sweeps!!!!!!
@wintershadows its just that some of us dont "have ear".it takes time to develop them,so we just look for tabs because we have fun playing :D getting things by ear will take quite a while :P
he said and ones you've got it done smothly it sounds realy cool
so hes doing a 7 string sweep?
Check out beyond creation. Both guitarists do 8 string sweeps
@@richwilson239 So? He can do a 25 string sweep if he wants to. Jeff is just a better guitarist in every way...
his right hand technique is PERFECT
@dgarrr2 Theres a guitar battle video of them on UA-cam. It is pure awesome.
@SpezializedDemo8 if you get the dvd, which you can get off ebay for $10, you can download the tabs.
@GibsonGuitarist1022 Yeah, between your ears =) It shouldn't be hard to figure out, he plays it slowly and the camera is focused on the fretboard. Here is a little head-start: E minor, D major, C major, B major. And by little hint I mean big giveaway...
@GibsonGuitarist1022 you can buy the whole video on guitar worlds website it comes with tabs
@kickingkrank I'm the same wqay dude, I love my MH400, but I would save for years for that guitar. Seriously, no matter how much it costs, I'll wait all of my life for it to put itself ever so gently in my loving hands.

Jeff loomis is a god
Fuck me if I could ever do this, I would literally sell my soul to the devil just to be able to do this
The chord changes in this solo are similar to many metal solos, listen to the Duncan Hills Coffee Jingle by Dethklok for example
Do i need to grow my hair first?
Yesss!!!
@hellome2u2me it's a 7 string guitar it has to have a wider neck
well thats what im asking, WHERE can i download it
nice man!!!!!!!!!
that was sweet!
If that's a warm-up I'd like to see what you do when you're warm.
@wintershadows Pretty sure its Eb :O? unless youre going by viewing which it is E but sounds like Eb :P
@Daim0th once you learn sweep shapes.. the only hard part is to figure out the root note =] notes are not required really :O
@gunsproof "And once you get it down smooth, it sounds really really cool"
Not just cool. Really, really cool.
thanx Jeff!!!! \m/
and they're saying Synyster Gates good at sweeping
In my early years of playing, I thought he was god...he is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to guitar players.
+Brandon Bellante Jeff Loomis is by far the best sweep picker
no...hes good but no...jason becker and malmsteen are THEE sweep gods....followed closely by michael romeo and then mayyybe jeff loomis..
@@samsquantch14 Jason was very sloppy
@@babygust1235 lmao you serious? jason was far from sloppy....
is he using the neck or bridge pickup!?
allegaeon threshold of perception has some nice 7string sweeps too
god teaches fellow plebians how to play the guitar.
His left hand has a mind of it's own.
I want that guitar so bad.
@Curious6Kevin9 well.. if you are going to compose.. just add a bullshit whole note (long note) and switch your pick before switching into sweeps :0 or whatever lmao its generaly what i do.. but my pick is VERY specific (i use sand paper to make it how i want) so i dont get issues :DD but my pick is made from animal bone.. so it lasts forever also
Does he mute the strings with the right hand ?
insane
is that he's playing one of is songs?
What scales/arpeggios is he useing?
I can pretty much own 3-5 string sweeps but my 6 and 7 string sweeps have yet to develop into something beautiful.
What tunning is this in ? standard shape or dropped?
sweeps like a janitor
Aye can he play Samba Pa Ti tho?
is there anywhere to get the tabs for this?
This guy is not human..
this is unreal
god i wish i could sweep like thiss
i can't even do the slow part
when i watched this i was like damn i dont even know any 6 string arpeggios yet, then I realized hes playing a seven string
Could anyone make a tab showing what this arpeggio looks like?
He proposes this as a warm up? Am I that bad?
1:12 God mode off/ON>
Plz someone tell me they have master this...
Website for the tabs?
it would be so cool to be able to play it...but it will never happen to me xD
what guitar is this?
@wintershadows
Asking for a tab is not an admission of inability. Perhaps he wanted a tab because he just didn't feel like tabbing it out? There's nothing wrong with that.
i just love all these people that say that Jeff is slow. Funny... I don't see any of their amazing shredding abilities on here.
It's exactly Jason Becker style of playing :P
We can clearly see here that Jeff is fan of him ^^
I’m my opinion, a bit of Jason was reborn in Jeff
get this man a dustpan.
its easier to play with i think, it frees up your left arm alot, when i play on my right leg my left arm is like glued to my ribs
Ok, figure 6 - slow. Me, after 4 years - "Ok, figure 6 - slow".
Can i see him playing guitar hero
However, this video begs the question: where is the tab?
i try to do this on a mortal 6string!!
hell ya
@tsirosgoddammit
ehm... That would be ALOT of stretching
use your palm to mute all unused strings, and practice every note slowly and cleanly until you get it down and than keep increasing the speed.
FUCK I LOVE HIS GUITAR!
he is a fucking machine!
Best comment in the vid "...You might want to take some time to work on that bottom one"....
@SeattleMonster86 hehe
well f* good!
Anyone got the tab for this?
holy shit he is an animal
@Jherrera318 HEY-OOOOOOOOOOH!!!
Jeff Loomis started playing at 15

It's Classical position. I find it much more comfortable. It's more ergonomic.
how are there any dislikes?
