6:07 one of my favortie games with Interpretation is Obscurio. the players are in the tower of a sorcerer and need to escape. One of the players plays a magic book giving the players clues to the exit. There are many doors you fill out with picture cards and the book player gives clue to the right picture by using 2 markers on another picture while not allowed to talk. its a teamwork game, but with a twist. One of the players was taken over by the sorcerer and has the role of working against the team. He is drawn at random so no one knows who he is. unfortunately you need a large group. Although you can play with fewer people the traitor mechanic, which is in my opinion what makes it especially fun, only is for the larger groups. 6 people though is a lot of fun.
CAH doesn’t suffer from the “be funny” problem that I describe in the video, because that expectation is taken away from the players (it’s dependant on the cards in their hands). It doesn’t really mesh with my sense of humour though - and without laughs, the game is too simplistic to be interesting.
Have you played Saboteur? It's an epic example of "social deduction". You've never talked about this game on the channel, I believe, but I can't believe you've never played it :D
Yes I played a lot of Saboteur 1&2 many years ago - there was a lot I liked about it. But I remember finding the start of the game a little bit “loose”. People would accuse each other fairly aimlessly - with no real reason or purpose, and the take that aspect was pretty heavy. I pretty much stopped playing it once I got into The Resistance, especially Avalon. I’d like to try it again sometime, but I sold it years ago.
Have you done a video similiar to your video on your biggest failure, on your biggest success? Be neat to see why you think that one worked compared to your other.
I've yet to have a game which I would call a "big success"! Doodle Rush, Pikoko, and Kompromat all had modest success, but not enough that I'd want to brag about! Haha.
Another great video. Totally agree with you on the “be funny” games.
Thanks Ludwig.
Agree with you about "be funnny" games.
I'm going to need a full list of the 100 mechanisms at the end of this so that I can roll three d100 and try and make a game within those constraints
That"s game mechanic #101 :D
Monomino Tile Laying is in my top 15...

The Dixit Scoring mechanic is great! I always wondered how to put more "roleplay" into games... Thanks!
What's your opinion on Cards Against Humanity? It's a game where you have to be funny, but the choosing of the winner is anonymous.

Love your videos keep up the good work I'm a budding designer as well so these are really informative and have helped me with my own ideas
That’s great - glad they’ve helped.
