It's a joy to see some of these magnificent railcars restored and maintained! 😍
Thanks for this amazing video! I'm from NYC and often go to the Danbury rail museum to see old railroad stock. That car with the wood interior at 6 minutes is just beautiful.
Thank you! Yes that car was the best of the bunch.
What a great video with something new around each corner.
Thank you. That's how I felt!
Thank you for the tour. They're all beautiful. I'll take San Marino as my favorite. I'm sorry Federal wasn't there. I think it's in Arizona somewhere, or was the last I heard. When the AAPRCO came to Hoboken, NJ, many years ago I was there for it. I don't recall how many cars were turned out for the event, but it was a lot and the place was packed. EL #3 was there and has since been bought by our local regional as their business car. It's back on home rails and still in beautiful condition.
San Marino is definitely a nice car. I wasn't familiar with Federal so I looked it up and it is beautiful! AAPRCO's website says it's based in Tuscon. Hopefully it will find its way to New Mexico sometime. If things change at Amtrak, I'm hopeful that there will be more PV excursions in the future. Thanks for watching!
@@YardLimit Federal is also the oldest PV car still in operation and was a lackawanna Business Car for many years. In researching Lackawanna cars I came upon its history. I tend to "keep an eye on that one." Thanks for the reply.
Beautiful cars.
They are. Thanks for watching!
I never knew there was such a thing! VERY nice!
Thank you for watching!
Fantastic Rail Cars
Indeed. Thank you for watching!
Wow I loved the older cars.
Thank you!
Excelente video!!
Thank you!
Great video thanks for sharing. SR
Thank you for watching!
I subscribed Joe's train world videos from Germany.
Thanks!
I loved the video
Thanks! I had a lot of fun making it!
These cars would beat a cruise ship.
When people started using airplanes instead of ships and trains to get from one place to another, the railroads should have done what the shipping companies did and change their business model to make the trip as fun as the destination.
Some cars are better than others though. I was pretty disgusted and disappointed when I toured ex-UP Pullman 6-6-4 sleeper National Forum. Lots of rust, not kept in good shape at all. A couple of the Zephyr cars were kinda meh as well. Silver Lariat was beautiful however, loved that car.
What an excellent video!
Thank you!
awesome video Yard Limit :)
Thank you!
That’s a really nice car!
Lot of really nice cars there.
Yard Limit yes
Mr Green did it in the dining car with Mrs Peacock. Clue cool.
And I was so clueless when they started bugging me. Anyway, it was fun.
Two questions: One) how much of a hassle it is to get these cars on AMTRAK consists as I would assume it would be illegal with freight consists? Two) Can these cars be available in Canada? We do have some excellent scenery and these cars would be the ultimate! A most excellent video! Thanks for posting!

Great. I just love it. Joe
Thank you, Joe!
Beautiful cars on the inside. Sad to see just 7 in the complement. In the old days there would be double this amount. Amtrak private car new regulations and lack of support to enhance larger public support for long distance train and dinning service will just have this all a thing of the past soon.
I'm afraid you're right. Thanks for watching!
I was thinking the same thing. What's Amtrak's problem other than it's a government run entity which always makes for problems.
Wished you got a shot of the inside of the dome area of The Moonlight Dome. The Clue players distracted you. Otherwise, I found it interesting.
I wish I would have too, but I didn't realize it until later. To say they were distracting is putting it mildly.
So you were a railroad geek and didn't have clue. Nice video though, big bucks to keep those cars in that kind of shape.
I was more of a Monopoly or chess kind of guy. Thanks, Charles!
I think amtrak's cars should be like those ones. The are beautifull.
Most of these cars are old passenger cars from various legacy railroads, so in many ways, they used to be! Thanks for watching.
@@YardLimit yes Sr. It's a very great video.Thank's for share and God bless you. I love this cars.
I thought Amtrak stopped hauling these cars a couple of years ago. I know people were upset but of course no one at Amtrak cared, as usual.
Amtrak didn't stop, they just made the requirements more difficult. There has been plenty written about their new rules which you can google if interested.
I was gooing to Buy a used CABOOSE....untill i realized set of axles cost $50,000 every 2 yrs need inspection....to switch a Car to a side Track is a Wooping $5000.00
It's not cheap! Thanks for watching!
How could you find out how to book a trip and how much it would cost.
Check out AAPRCO's website. www.aaprco.com/
Make passenger trains great again!!!!!
Thank you for watching.
Jesus Christ . How rich do u have to be to have own a private car ?
Most of these cars are operated as businesses and chartered out.
It’s too bad they demolished Albuquerque’s gorgeous Alvarado Station in the 70s. They eventually built a fake reproduction which should be torn down and the original put back in its place. It’s just horrible.
The transportation center is OK but it's nothing like the Alvarado. We used to eat lunch there when I was growing up and then watch the Super Chief come in.
@@YardLimit That’s amazing!! Everyone who knew it has wonderful memories. The Alvarado was a part of the community. Now it houses city office space and does not “belong” to us. There is nothing welcoming about it to arriving passengers - being skirted around the building’s north side. Denver’s station was restored and has been called the “living room” of the city as so many locals go there just to enjoy. There are plans to rebuild Penn Station. I wish we had a similar effort going here.

I was a nerd and I've never played Clue!
