I got the late release 156 with Gnu, Freedom bindings. This thing floats like no other in the pow and can handle groomers at speed, very stable. Great feel from edge to edge on hard pack, carves very nice. Awesome all mountain board! GOOD JOB MERVIN!!!
Just ordered the 147cm Orca and pairing it with Union Stratas with a size 10.5 boot standing at 5"10 160lbs. I'm so stoked to see what this board will do for me!!!
I prefer the orca it handles great on groomers and definitely in pow. With the warping I find it a bit plankish and not as nimble as the orca.. just my opinion..

My ride preferences like: Carving - 45% POW - 45% Park - 10% But I’m really like powder and like to move in this direction. I'm pretty thin and tall =) And skill lvl near pro (14 years’ experience). I’m 180 cm tall (5,11 lbs), I weight 133-135 and foot size is 9-10 I really like LibTech Orca 2020 but I can’t figure out the size, because everyone says it’s like surfy fat downsize deck. And I think to take 153 Orca. What do you think, will it fits me? (I,d like to carv too=) )

Factory Finish Auto Glass I demoed the Union stratus and the nitros and went with the cypress. Super comfy and legit. They’re like a combination between the Nitros and Nows.
Hi Guff, love the reviews. How would you compare the Orca to the Rossignol Xv Magtek? I seen your reviews of the Rossi before and I know you’re a fan. I’ve ridden the Rossignol and I loved how stiff it was but didn’t like how it was super nimble to turn in tight spaces. I’m tossing up between the 2 boards, I’m 6’ and 195 pounds. Orca is on my short list along with the Never Summer West Bound, Arbor A-Frame / Guch Pro, Jones Flag, Weston 10th, Bataleon Ct. all the other boards I’m looking at 157-159. I mean, the Climax is made up of carbon in the tips, makes it very light, and also pricey. It has a very strong core make-up. I think these two boards are pretty hard to compare, the Orca is a classic, really.

Doa is for mainly the park man orca for versatility but wanting that powder specific all rounder. Angrysnowbaorder said the orca is such a fun park board. It was so much fun through the park he wishes a true twin version came out haha.

Check out T Rice's instagram. You actually have his height and his weight. He recommends 153. I'm 6'1'' but I'm 163 lbs. I wonder if I should get the 156 one.
The Orca is a board designed to ride a smaller size than normal. It's a short powder/all mountain board. The Hyper Kyarve should be about the same size as you would normally ride; the same goes for the Stump Ape.
@@TheHouseProductReviews i mean as far as fun. I mostly ride trees. Have a size 12 foot but only weight 170 to 190. Changes year from year depending on pizza intake. Love the idea of the stump ape for my feet but feel like the orca might be alot more fun zipping thru the trees. It is a touch wider than what im on now but still have heel toe drag on groomers with 26.5 width. Have newer burton imperial boots. But overall fun in the trees is what im looking for with groomers connecting as an after thought.

BTCNick , both are great size boards for your size! So it just depends on your preference, if you like light and whippy and easy to turn then get the 147 but if you want more stability at speeds and more float in powder get the 153. But tbh I would recommend the 153 cause it is an all mountain ripper, pow board and the 147 is pretty small, only upside being how light and whipy it is
I rode a 147 last year and can confirm that description. Very quick and nimble, but too small. Did ok, but I’m picky and wasn’t satisfied. Felt small dropping off of ledges and in deep powder. Just felt a little undersized, like I was gonna slip below the surface(didn’t). Already picked up a 153 for this year. Gonna let my daughter ride the 147. I’m 5’11”, 150-160 lbs. Daily driver last year was a 159 Goldmember(very happy with the g.m.).

How does this compare to the Gnu Hyperkyarve. Seem almost identical as far as specs. I think set back is more on Orca but how do they compare riding?
They are both pretty similar. Just different brands with the same take.

You could get away with either really. Both are in your size range. The 156 is going to be easier to maneuver.

I don't think I would suggest a 159 for you.

They should work really well with the Orca. Very versatile bindings, those Malavitas are.

That's hard to say. The 156 would work best with your weight, but the 159 seems better for height. My suggestion would be 156.

The Genesis would be a great match up! The Union Force, Falcor, and Strada along with the Burton Malavita or Cartel would be nice on the Orca too!

Honestly, it sounds like you would be better on a 155-156. Between those two sizes a 153 probably.

The 153cm would be a great size for you. WIth the volume shift story and large surface area the Orca swims in pow. Get it? Swims.

You may have a little heel/toe drag but it should be alright. Look into boots with footprint reduction.
