Yes! I was actually really hoping that you would use Nomad! I just bought it two days ago because I've been wanting to learn how to 3d sculpt because of your videos! If you ever have the time and once you get a good hold of the software is there a potential for a tutorial video? Love your work, you this inspires me so much!!!
Great! The graphical artefacts are probably coming from the option "Partial Drawing" at the bottom of the settings panel. This is disabled by default, and the option is noted as experimental, I supposed you try to enable it? :)
You should consider making videos for new releases! The app is looking nice, don't think I'll get it just yet but I'd like to see how it progresses Edit: Just noticed your twitter, gave you a follow!
Thank you very much for your comment about the XYZ textures! It's a really powerful resource and since I have them I didn't know how to use them... I use Photoshop and After effects then C4D & Octane! Since I watched your video, it has given me a new approach. I'll have to be patient to get the same result on my software but it's worth it! Your video motivated me, thanks again!
I just started using nomad on my iPhone in the absence of a pc. It’ll be a while before I get a new computer but so far nomad works for me as far as learning how to sculpt it has all the basic brushes that I used most during my trial with zbrush which is the Clay, move, crease (dam standard) pinch and flatten. They even have tube brushes that gives easier control over the shape and thickness and a gyro tool which was surprisingly useful. I guess a little has changed since the making of this video because now they have a voxel Remesh and extraction tools. Not as good as zbrush but Wow. I’ve been pretty much using this to practice my speed sculpting and developing a solid technique in preparation for the time comes for me to buy a new laptop. I’ll be starting off with zbrush core and all I can say is that nomad is a good alternative between zbrush mini and core. Worth every bit of the 15 I paid for it. The only caveat I have are my hardware limitations. I’m using the older iPhone XR which limits my subdivisions to around 2 million faces. Pretty much similar limitations with the last version of zbrush I was using on my 2011 MacBook Pro. I’ll need the newer hardware to push things a little further. But overall I’m satisfied with it and I will continue to practice on my phone until I get a new laptop.
Really cool to see your process, I hope you do more IPad sculpting videos! 😊 I would really love to see a Nomad vs Forger video, I’m on the fence about which one to choose, and that would really be helpful for me, please? 🙂
You can just create the separation and push the bottom part down a bit if its not gonna open anymore. If it needs to open you can split it (in whatever your software is) at the crease of the lips and reattach after you make the cavity on each half.
I loved it. I have never sculpted before but i have to sculpt my character for my animation to save headaches and inconsistency of the face and features
Thanks. It is better to get the perspective of someone who works in the medium the software is geared towards. I will download it based on your review knowing the limitations. I too wish I could use IPad Pro for all my 2D work - but still have to finish off with Adobe Animate.
Hi! Could you share how you did the hair? (Especially the little lock at the front). There aren’t IMM brushes yet, right? Great work, anyway :) She looks stunning,
@follygon hello 👋 I've become quite interested in 3d modeling sculpting and animation as of late. Unfortunately i can't afford a Zbrush license but I saw they have a free version. I was wondering if this free version is a viable option to follow your tutorials? I know it has less brushes but I wasn't sure if it doesnt have all the tools you use more regularly in your artwork, ex when you highlight a portion of the face or body to specifically work on this area usually the back of the head and the bottom jaw
I've had barely any crashes on my version, but then again I think it's because my iPad Pro is using the newer M1 chip rather than the Apple A12Z Bionic chip thats inside your iPad Pro. Been considering trying it out more but I think I'd like to learn ZBrush first before really diving into Nomad
Will this run good on an ipad with an a9 processor? Im going to be using it with my ipad 2017 with my wacom intuos creative stylus 1 (i know i wont get any pressure sensitivity btw, but i hope the developer can support these 3rd party styli so i can have palm rejection, pressure and 2 buttons!)
i'm trying to decide between 11 and 12.9 for general illustration/3d sculpting. i'm wondering if the 11 screen will be too cramped. may i ask why did you consider downscaling?
Yes for sure. Definitely over forger. Forger has nice things but it’s imo a better “2nd app” to compliment the work you do on Nomad. Nomad is a far better sculptor and substantially more performant. It handles more vertices than forger (substantially more) and crashes a lot less. It also has better UI and smoother workflow. If this weren’t though it’s also the only sculptor that properly (more like, actually) supports 3D Touch on iPhones (not just properly but brilliantly).
Does Nomad allow retopology, or would I need to do it on Blender after export? (going to get a 9th Gen Ipad and ipen 1st during the Hols, and Nomad is really teasing my eyes, right now!)
1. The movie is considered to be a lot worse. If you've seen and remember the original, this isn't even comparable 2. The lead Actress came out in support of the Honk Kong police
Riley the Hong Kong protestors are funded by the CIA, so why wouldn’t’t she support the Hong Kong police? The protect is anything but peaceful and the protestors and doxxing, vandalizing being violent and causing terror
Pinky Minky Ooo I struck a nerve. First of all, she asked what the controversy was. All I did was respond. I in no way commented about her actions, but merely said what she did. I frankly don’t care who’s she’s in support of as it doesn’t change her ability to act and do her job. But, the CIA funding the protests? That’s crazy and makes no logical sense! Why would the USA government care about human rights being violated in a foreign country? Also, funding the protests could very well lead to war, and would cost and astronomical amount! Besides, we only see what the Chinese government lets through about the protests. I’m not going to say they want you to believe the protests are uncalled for, but they are certainly twisting what is actually happening.
@@riley530 3. The film was shot in the same region of China where the Chinese government is kidnapping Uyghurs and putting them into internment camps and in the credits Disney thanked the authorities of that region for their assistance. Disney also had Chinese officials look over the script before filming to get their approval and just generally tried to lick Xi Jinping's boots as much as possible during the process because they thought the film would do really well in the Chinese market (it didn't LOL).
hi there can u make like a tutorial for the frist steps and app on 3d in a ipad and if is possible import a photo for guide line and textures like i dont know humm off white jacket someting like that

Is an ipad app? Better than forger?
ROB12013 I don’t have forger, but most people say that they are pretty matched in quality it just depends on what you want to do.
Thirteen Pandas hey is nomad a one time pay or monthly subscription yah?
@@bunny7674 One time pay!
Wow! I had no idea about nomad sculpt! Thanks for dropping some much appreciated knowledge! Imma get this on my iPad Pro 2 when I get home!
Would love to see more sculpts on nomad! I recently got the app and it’s interesting to see others works and seeing their tips and tricks
I would love to see you go more in depth abt how to use the app!! I hope you make another video using this app🥺🥺

Liked the video for the opening remark regarding the live-action Mulan movie alone! Also, love the sculpt!

I swear people just dislike some UA-cam videos for no reason, your content is amazing!
Wow, thanks for mentioning the controversy of the current film, I think more people need to be aware of these things.

Maybe another Disney character? This one looks cool per usual with all your work
That's why I started following your channel because it helped me painting hair I love seeing the process
This is so relaxing to watch 💖
amazing as always!

Beginner question - how did you open the mouth like that? Did you detach the jaw and then reattached it?
You can just create the separation and push the bottom part down a bit if its not gonna open anymore. If it needs to open you can split it (in whatever your software is) at the crease of the lips and reattach after you make the cavity on each half.
Great analysis and review, it’s just what I needed to know before purchasing my display tablet
I loved it. I have never sculpted before but i have to sculpt my character for my animation to save headaches and inconsistency of the face and features
The live-action is a disappointment but this is a true blessing!
honestly i miss li zhang and mushu would've looked epic in cgi...
@•'Y S o o n•` There was no Mushu or songs or crickets in the original folklore of Mulan. That's just Disneyification.
@•'Y S o o n•` there’s no Disney in it, basically. A lot of people who watched mulan have no idea where all of the stuff from the live-action was from

Great tutorial!
Does nomad have a preset like forger giving u the option to choose a pre made full body figure or do u have to make the entire body by hand ?
You have to make them on your own, I believe. I’m not aware of them having Presets like Forger.
Good Video. I will try to learn Nomad. Thank you.
Question say you have a neck and a torso how exactly do you smooth it out like that so they don’t look like two separate shapes ?
Hi! Could you share how you did the hair? (Especially the little lock at the front). There aren’t IMM brushes yet, right? Great work, anyway :) She looks stunning,

This is nice! I have a question if anyone can answer please. Can you animate your 3D characters and make videos with them on this app?
Very nice, I also make with nomad sculpt, it's pretty awesome app, galaxy S7 tab
Does Nomad support Keyboard shortcuts?
Omg finally a tutorial for nomad
how do you make money out of this ? where do you sell it ? are you printing this on a 3d printer ?
Love for you to do a course using Nomad!
Hey man how do you feel about the 11 ipad for nomad? I have the 12.9 right now but im feeling like downsizing, not sure.

so good
How do you choose what 2D art or artist to collab with? Is it just on a whim, see something cool and contact the artist?
Great work! Does brush use pressure from pen?
Yes it does!
Can i use the assets made for my video game I’m developing?
Is it possible to animate the characters with the App?
To my knowledge yes, but you’ll have to export it into something like blender then do rigging. I haven’t tried it out though
Hi, nice video. Pls how to finaly rendering or screenshot ?
Can the models be exported to a 3d printer

can you please try sculpting in Blender 2.9?
Awesone result, i like, great vidéo !
thank you for that insight info! Appreciate the honesty.
How do you keep adding spheres? Also in Blender, I’ve seen you do that...
Nomad works with keyboard and it's been excellent. similar keys as zbrush
I need to get this app .. omg
i feel like i missed something... what exactly is the controversy about the new live action version of Mulan? i haven’t seen it
