Houndour (Houndoom) and Murkrow were two of Karen’s Pokémon and perhaps GameFreak intended this to be the case to make it more entertaining once the player literally reaches the last Elite 4 member and sees two new Pokemon in battle.
They were also used in battle with the Team Rocket Executives.
Maybe it was also an incentivised kind of a way to influence players to continue the story beyond Johto, and indeed take the SS Anne to Vermilion City.

I just want for The Pokémon Company to get it through their thick skulls that quality friggin matters and what happened with Scarlet and Violet doesn't happen again. Even if they are my favorite Pokémon games with my favorite characters, the bugs should have never been a thing.
Unfortunately they never will because people (including me) keep buying the game regardless of quality. Scarlet/Violet sold 25 million units so they have literally zero reason to invest in improvements

Honestly I don’t care with bugs and glitches, I just want a fun classic Pokémon game with the battle frontier. Obviously features like hard difficulty thru story, and visiting other regions collecting their badges too would be nice but that’s asking too much.
That’s why there’s nothing to worry about, they made a great game experience with a small stumble which was fixed
Maybe we get the 3ds store up and running again so people can download those free old games
I want more spinoffs INSTEAD of a main series game. Take time on those and let them cook.
A good quality story is what we need, I want to be emotionally invested into my Pokémon journey.

Gameplay matters the most in video games. Video games are not like movies.

@@toumabyakuya it varies from person to person for what they're looking for in a game, I prefer a good balance of gameplay and story, if either is lacking too much it will dropped from boring gameplay or boring story. But we can all agree the buggy mess that was scarlet and violet's release should not be a thing again, that would fundamentally help leaps and bounds.
Story is a must for me. Even over gameplay if I get bored I’ll quit the game if I’m not invested personally.
I want to see a legends Kanjo, where you live in a time before Mount Silver is formed, creating Kanto and Jhoto.

You know.... I just had a thought about the number of Paradox Pokemon from Each Gen, not counting Gen 1... what if the number of Paradoxes corresponding to each shows us which remakes are coming next?
Gen 2 has 8(9)- the donphan duo Great Tusk & Iron Treads, its Minor Legend Trio Walking Wake, Gouging Fire & Raging Bolt, Flutter Mane, Iron Bundle, & Iron Thorns. Heck you Could, though its a stretch, throw in Sandy Shocks here too, since Gen 2 is when Magneton line became more solidified as a concept thanks to the Steel Type being added.
Gen 5 has 7- the volcarona duo Slither Wing & Iron Moth, its Minor Legendary Trio Iron Crown, Iron Leaves & Iron Boulder, Brute Bonnet, & Iron Hands.
and then Gen 3(?!) with 2- Roaring Moon & Iron Valiant.
and if we go with the Sandy Shocks being Gen 2 hypothesis, then Gen 6 w/ 1 being Scream Tail, since that was the Gen that added the Fairy type.
I also think that seeing how as the Gen 2 Legends are all Past Paradoxes, and the Gen 5 Legends are all Future Paradoxes, there could be a quite beautiful telling of how things could go down with said remakes. Past could signify a Legends game. While Future especially with how Black2/White2 are set as Sequels to the original Black/White, Remakes could again come in the form of Sequels to all four of the original Games. OR even somehow incorporate the time skip aka incorporate Both parts of the story somehow.
I know I could be reading a Lot into it, but its possible

I liked Let's Go style of graphics, but I hated the gameplay.
It was really hit or miss with me. I liked the change up for the most part. Just to do something different.

This could be way to wild and to difficult but I think it would be so bad ass if they could make a pokemon universe were different regions are interconnected. Johto and hoenn for example. You can pick your starting story and continue to the other region same as before but you'd start the new regions as a "legend".

Honestly besides Performance, which was patched, we have literally nothing to worry about with the quality of their games, SV was one giant step forward, while there was a bit of a stumble, we can’t ignore the effort, if the next is like SV just with some touch ups, I’d have everything I wanted in a pokemon game
Maybe one day there will be a Pokémon game featuring every Region and Gym
A legends Johto focused on Celebi would be my pick. It’s a big anniversary year for gen 2, Celebi is known for time travel plus they can add in some of Kanto. My biggest want for it would be to have the past form of Lugia be the Shadow Lugia from Gale of Darkness it would be the perfect way to make it “Canon” in the games plus they can give us a new form of Ho-oh that looses its form my bringing to life the legendary beasts after they perish in the tower. All three of which would be never before seen pokemon id like them to look like some of the beta forms from around that time.
Pokemon XD gale of darkness is my favorite pokemon game of all time so i would be so happy.
call me crazy but i wouldnt mind a legends game that shows us the moment the tower was burnt. first half you travel johto see the burnt tower do the same thing as arceus after the first crisis is avertered go to kanto and maybe see the galarian birds get into a territorial battle with the kanto ones and you have to fight all six of them and maybe lugia

Great video! My ideal Johto game would be a Legends style game that incorporates some of the Pokemon/ideas from Beta Gold and Silver. Aug 99 beta celebi makes me think some sort of apocalyptic event occurred.

Tbh I could see them doing another lets go esque game for Johto to continue a line of tie ins with Pokemon Go. Or something similar to it.

If we follow the Switch generation of Pokemon games, it will be Let’s Go Johto style remake, Legends Unova style game, and finally, a Unova remake to tie in shortly after the Legends game comes out.
Pretty neat ideas.
Crystal legacy fixed all these problems. Amazing game to play through and a real challenge on the hard mode :)

Me praying for a 2D sprite based HeartGold 2 & SoulSilver 2. At this point I’m convinced Gamefreak can’t make a good 3D Pokemon game.
Should clarify, I guess I really mean Switch 3D Pokemon games. They’ve all been pretty lackluster to me. Legends Arceus was a nice surprise but was only really fun for a first playthrough.

The Poketuber SmithPlaysPokemon made an excellent Gen 2 Rom Hack, called Pokémon Crystal Legacy. All the annoying and obviously bad features of OG Crystal were improved. Availability of Pokémon, a level scaling system and updated Move Pools are implemented etc. The game still feels natural, but just optimized. I’d advice it to anybody who wants to have a way smoother gen 2 experience:)
I've heard of that, I plan on potentially doing as best team on that at some point.

If it is a Johto game, then I think only a Legends-style game would fit. For Unova, a Legends, third part or a BD/SP-style port of both the original and its sequel would work.
Just casually dropping the fact HG/SS is 14 years old shook me. I'm currently replaying and do agree with the fact it is annoying to have so many Johto mons only available in Kanto

Really wish the switches can download these old games. IMO they are the best. More challenging. More emotionally involved. Especially the 2nd gen.
Why would they do another Johto remake when HGSS were already done? They have been doing remakes in progressive order, after HGSS, came ORAS, then BDSP. Common sense says Bright White and Pitch Black are next.
You're probably correct. I think there is just a considerable portion of people that are hoping for the Jhoto stuff, even knowing it's probably not happening. 😢

Me, I'm hoping for a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game since it's been so long since we got a proper one.
All I want is an xy remake specifically a pokemon Z, where they give dianthas team different moves an item to make her challenging.

This is just me, but I'm going with the Unova remakes, but I'm also not against a Legends game, because both have their pros and cons:
The Legends game for Johto really got me interested, because I'd like to see paradox forms for both Lugia and Ho-oh, and possibly Celebi.
Though, I'd have the games be released in a color-theme similar to the gen I games, only depicting the paradox forms of the Beast Trio.
The other reason for the Legends game is because I write fanfiction, and Mystic...you could actually do some "What ifs" centered around that, as I've already seen someone post a video with the title "What if Ash was born in Johto", where he has a Hisuian Voltorb as his starter..
the Gen V remakes seem pretty interesting, however I'm also aware how Game Freak and Nintendo only have a main core game on the current generation for at least 3-4 years, and as I've said I'm thinking the gen VI remakes will come mid-late 2020s, going towards 2030.
I think Pokemon should go more in the direction of Legends of Jhoto. ❤ I preferred the capture and battle system in Legends, such a neat change. I think more people will come full circle to play the games again, even if there was HGSS already.
Honestly, as a fan of Gen 5, as much as I fear it, I'd see a Johto remake as a betrayal. Sure if its a 'Lets Go Cerebi' type remake, that'd be fine, same with a legends Johto title. But Unova needs its time.
I'd like to see a remake for their real audience. I mean for a 30ish year old adult. The difficulty should be increased. I'm looking for my 3rd pokémon game to play, but I already have to think what kind of lock and restriction I will go with.

Sticking with the basics is a better option. Anime graphics should be used too, as kids and adults are fine with the attractive character designs.

Also the character sprites from Kirby of the Stars Wii Deluxe and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. They are like anime characters on cels.

I'm definitely on team Johto for 2024. It is the 25th anniversary of Gold and Silver after all. But I would want it to be a Legends game, not a 1-to-1 remake or Arceus forbid a Let's Go game. Unova can wait till next year since it will be the 15th anniversary of Black and White.

They’ve messed up following Pokémon every time since Let’s Go, so hopefully they get it right next time. I’m not sure why they struggled so much to properly implement it.

If they make a remake i hope they use bdsp, swsh or sv as a base and just improve it. Also they could copy and paste the pokemon models allowing for more diversity with less effort involved. I say this as someone who knows nothing about game design 😂 so might not be as simple as i think
My only fear is that we get a let’s go remake of Johto. For young kids it’s not bad but Let’s Go for Kanto was to easy and a let down with zero post game outside of mewtwo
See, people see it at very straightforward with Johto remakes. "Let's Go this, Legends that, HGSS but better because why not", but little do they know, there's a much, MUCH better way to remake the Johto games, and not have to worry about anything the games did/didn't do wrong or how to directly improve them.

In a world where graphics, the general gameplay, mons selection, or whatever have you is diversive, the only option is to throw it all out, by making the Pokewalker but again, but it connects to Home, making EVERY mon usable, meaning Dex-it is no longer an issue and people have nothing to complain about. Cmon Gamefreak, just hire me already.
Yo have Johto keep it like let’s go eevee and pikachu graphics and ditch the capture mechanic’s with the open world like the last 3 gen’s! With the power scale of HG/SS! While also letting the levels scale in the order you fight the gym! Fighting a Brock with level 40-45 onix would be dope!

I think it's time we leave the Legends Arceus style in the past. It was a one time thing just like Let's Go was. Enjoy the games for what they are and just hope that whatever we get next, it's not rushed and glitchy again.
If it's another johto game, i hope they make Pokemon like houndour, Larvitar and skarmory more accessible

Johto tie in this year, unova 2025
Generation 10 in 2026 for pokemon 30th anniversary. The reasons gen 9 will be longer is new console Generation with harsher development, pokemon games always release a few years in, palworld will force their hand, scarlet and violet backlash on release. This year is 25 years since gold and silver, next year marks 15 since black and white
Guns are next 😊 for pokemon. Seriously though the company needs to amp their games up. Finish them before release dates. We need another legend game. It was an amazing game. Hopefully we get voice acting this time
As a gen2er I'd rather see remakes of gen 5 mb gen 6 before we go down the routes of re-remaking games. Well... maybe an actual good remake of gen 4 would be good to have.

Just an opinion but I don't really think they woud make let's go 2 just because Pokémon Go isn't as popular as how it used to be

Palworld doesn't even play like Pokemon and they just resigned some of the Pokemon designs
Pokemon can definitely take a page from what Palworld is doing. But to say Pokemon is failing, is a hard no. In terms of gameplay, yeah they need more work. But when they're making money regardless, they don't really need to really improve because people will buy them anyways. When in reality, they should focus on better quality. It's really disappointing they don't. But alas, I guess money is everything lol.

I rather just have them rerelease the GBC or DS games over a remake. I am a shiny hunter and the remakes will shiny lock all the good hunts including the starters, Eevee, ES Dratini, Togepi, odd egg Pokemon, Tyrogue, the beasts, Ho-oh, Lugia, and Celebi
