@@crawdaddy2004that’s actually not true. At least in singles, dusclops is stuck in NFE now. Can’t even get into zu (where noir is). Even though it’s the lowest tier, dusclops can’t even break ZU with the item. Knock off invalidates it as well. He’s really not that bad in all truth, he’s gets a good chunk of damage on most things. Offensively, ghost is pretty solid.
Magmortar could really use the Gallade treatment by giving it Mega Launcher and the 3 moves (Aura Sphere, Dragon Pulse, and Dark Pulse) Same with Electivire by giving it Iron Fist. The only problem with that is Iron Fist in its current state is weak as hell (being 1.2x as opposed to 1.3x, let alone 1.5x), and even then it would then have to compete with Pawmot which has everything but EQ and Trailblaze.
Honorable Mention: Beartic, never seems able to escape Untiered or 0.00% VGC usage, and not for the lack of effort, GameFreak has been buffing this bear a lot to the point is busted in playthrough, but is never enough, this fella needs an evo so hard now. Some older Pokémon should get the prime ape treatment, a near unique evo method. Good candidates are Arbok and sunflora with many others not mentioned that significantly raises their usability.
For *_Lycanroc-Midnight_* , i think a better upgrade would be rearranging it's base stats of 85/115/75/55/75/82 to something like "85/115/100/45/100/42". Yeah it while make it slower, but in return it would be bulkier, since it's supposed to be a Pokemon specialized in taking hits and countering back. Also, give it "Solid Rock" instead of Keen Eye, to further boost it's bulky nature (Adaptability can replace Vital Spirit). And give it a new Signature Rock type variant of Payback (aka., 40-50 BP move which doubles in power to 80-100 BP, if it goes last), with additional effect that if the opponent uses any priority move (be damaging or non-damaging), then the new move "gets increased priority" (aka., normally it would be 0, but if a priority move is used by opponent, then it would become +5, but with base 40-50 BP).
a branched evolution. Bug/Electric physical attacker with Iron Fist and the appropriate moves. Bug/Fight special attacker that can learn Aura Sphere, Water Pulse and Air Cutter. that way, there's no overlap with Vikavolt or Heracross
I like to think that Lycanroc Midnight sucks because it is the only unhappy evolution of the line, as though it is miserable when you evolved it at that time.

I don't know why they don't adjust pokemon abilities/moves/stats more often in newer generations to help balance things out a bit and make some more viable, especially with as much power creep that happens. Like, they probably have tons of data from battles in the current gen and a list of all of the meta relevant pokemon and ones that are not relevant at all. It'd be a good way to mix it up in new generations beyond just adding more mons

You made a video called "Best team for Sinnoh with no restrictions" (a team I used in platinum and loved btw) which included Dusknoir. Why the change of heart? I really wish he had iron fist tho
Boltund - give it an evolution Dusknoir - 5 to 15 point increase in stats, reduce speed and give it more attack, new physical host move, drain punch, hammer arm, rockslide, gyro ball, maybe a new ability as well Hypno - it probably isn't meant to be super OP otherwise people would gladly use it and ot even consider the other psychics like Kadabra, Mr.mime, Jynx. "If Furfrou was introduced in Gen 8 or 9, it would've gotten better stuff." Sadly, that's true for almost every pokémon up to Gen 3, since PvP was never a focal point of the games until Gen 4. Like Unown would've probably gotten the same treatment as Zigarde's cells and a new forme or major power-up the more you'd collect them. Pokémon with random stat distributions would get better distributions to fill certain roles, and there would be more signature Abilities (especially for Legendaries, since they would simply shove Pressure into every one of them back then).
I feel like for a 169 bp Thunder Fang with Stab, and Strong Jaw included in the calculations and acess to life orb before the champion make Boltund does have that cannon part of glass cannon.
I think an interesting buff for Hypno would be a signature ability, of which the effect would be to consider the opponent to be asleep. Note that it does not actually put the opponent to sleep, but whenever Hypno enters the field, it would be considered asleep, even when awake. By that, I mean that Hypno would be able to use moves that require the opponent to be asleep to work, even though they’re not factually sleeping. For example, let’s suppose I have a Hypno with this ability, facing a Clefable. The Clefable would be able to act normally through the turns, but my Hypno would be able to use moves like Dream Eater and Nightmare against the awake Clefable. This ability could be named Hypnotic Trick or something along those lines.
If GF really decided to give Dusknoir line a recovery move, I still play Dusclops bcuz it's tankier w/Eviolite, less speed, and no annoying trade evolve required.

How about giving hypno a psychic type equivalent of sleep powder in a more accurate sleepmove. That os a specialmove with a 10% or so chance at sleep. I know sleep is strong but it is kind of his thing
Magmortar is ok, just needs a little change of stats like you said. However I'd lower the speed and attack to make them 63 and 85 respectively and add 10 to each of hp, def and sp.def
Just give Magmortar the Gallade treatment, by giving it Mega Launcher to go along with it Aura Sphere, Dragon Pulse, and Dark Pulse EDIT: and do the same with Electivire by giving it Iron Fist, even though Iron Fist is weak as hell in its current state (not 1.5x, not even 1.3x like Tough Claws and Sheer Force, just 1.2x). Finally giving it Bulk Up, Knock Off and to a lesser extent Trailblaze are steps in the right direction, it could still use Close Combat and Drain Punch tho.
I honestly think someone at Gamefreak just hates Lycanroc Midnight. Not only did they blatantly make it the worst one compared to Midday and Dusk, but also in Scarlet and Violet, they took Sucker Punch away from it. Yet both Midday and Dusk get to keep Sucker Punch on top of Accelrock.
Hey Mystic here is a Pokémon team I used to beat Pokémon Silver. I know you’re a Gen 2 lover so this might interest you. 1. SAKURA the Meganium 2. SAI the Slowbro 3. KAKASHI the Nidoking 4. NARUTO the Ninetales 5. SASUKE the Skarmary 6. ROCK LEE the Hitmontop Honorable mentions go my temporary team members: 1. Choji the Geodude/Graveler for the first three gyms 2. Shukaku the furret for Headbutt and Cut 3. Tobirama the Lake of Rage shiny Gyarados as HM slave 4. Kenya the Fearow for early flyer
I think nothing defensively oriented can save Dusknoir, as it will still be outclassed by Dusclops either way. Imo, the best way to buff Dusknoir is to make it more offensive. 100 base Atk is not great, but with the right ability, it can be usable. Just look at Regidrago and Regieleki. They both got 100 offensive stats, and yet, thanks to their abilities, they hit super hard with their stabs. I think Dusknoir deserves a Dragon’s Maw equivalent for Ghost moves, so it can be a self sufficient Trick Room attacker. And before anyone argues this is giving a regular Pokémon a legendary level ability, just remember Perrserker’s Steely Spirit is essentially the same thing.
I would go with hawlucha I would raise it's attack from 93 to 125 as it's in it's pokedex entry in omega sapphire it states that's it can keep up with hariyama and machamp in strength and they have like around 130 strength stat so putting it at 125 makes sense as to balance it out with it's decent speed stat off 118 and raise it's hp to 102 but I would lower both of its special stats to 40 so the it retains the same base stat total of 500 with the moves it learns and the abilities it has would make it viable, you could go with unburden and make it an sweeper put on a focus sash and use swords dance or hone claws to buff it's attack and when the sash breaks it gets a speed boost making it an threat but as any sweeper a priority move or any multi hit moves would wipe it out easily still but at least it will now actually do something instead of being a sac Pokémon (This is off it's performance in VGC in regular play it is perfectly fine )
Disagree with boltund getting that much of a boost - having BP 95-100 moves with no drawback/95-100% accuracy with 110 attack is a bit too powerful. Maybe 100-105
Oricorio. I love the gimmick and their looks. Especially the Ghost form. However, their movepools suck and get no extra damage aside from its Flying moves and that one dancing move.
Idk about this guy, but I always have Boltund on my team, and he always comes through for me, and a lot of those times he’s come in with the clutch win
From what i can see, a lot of mediocre speed mons are what i like to label as "Scarf Bait". Aka pokemon literally designed around having Choice Scarf as their gimmick, being not too quick but hitting decently hard. Now the obvious issue with this is that a lot of these mons don't have a pivoting move (RIP Magmortar) so their Scarf Bait design is extremely exploitable by opponents. What i also find amusing is that Slurpuff would thrive, maybe even reign, in S/V as probably one of the best users of Tera. Tera into something that resists its usual weaknesses to easily pull off the Belly Drum + Sitrus Berry + Unburden gimmick while also using that Tera Type as Tera Blast for the missing coverage it needs. Imagine Tera Ground Slurpuff just shrugging off a Poison move, getting jacked with a snack, and proceeding to become the scariest lump of walking dessert out there.

If Mega Absol didn't exist, I wish base Absol had better stats. Just give it the 115 special attack and 115 speed from its Mega form, but keep the 130 attack from its base form, and it's fine.
magmorter doesn't hit hard enough? really? have sunny weather set up and with a modest nature and expert belt or life orb , its flamethrower and fire blast can take almost anything out.
I'm WAITNG for Game Freak to introduce an ability that automatically sets Trick Room on switch in. If Hypno had an ability that sets Trick Room on switch in, it would instantly be top tier.
That’s power creep for you, raising the standards of everything by a significant margin (just look at the sad state that is Gen 9 NU and its fallen titans that used to be UU if not OU; even Clefable, Scizor, Tyranitar, Garchomp, and Excadrill all dropped to UU now), with some exceptions. Greninja used to be able to get away with 103 Sp. Atk thanks to Protean before that ability was nerfed, same with Talonflame’s Gale Wings and 81 Atk before that was also nerfed, and Dragapult can always run a specs set with just 100 Sp. Atk to work with thanks to how fast its 142 Spe stat is. Certain abilities like Tinted Lens, Adaptability, Sheer Force, Strong Jaw, Tough Claws, and the newly introduced Sharpness usually balanced by either slower speed or attacking stats ranging from 100-117 (or 75-110 in Sheer Force’s case), but again power creep. Plus Iron Fist is weak as hell in comparison for being 1.2x as opposed to 1.3x, let alone 1.5x. Even if Boltund has Strong Jaw boosted Ice Fang, it with 90 Atk in today’s standards still can’t easily OHKO bulky, Hydrapple, Garchomp, Gliscor or Landorus-T without committing to Choice Band or Life Orb, and those are just the 4x weak ones.
Instead of raising stats of pokemon to meet power creep, how about lowering the stats of the previous power crept pokemon? Like instead of raising future pokemon to meet the speed of regileki, lower it's speed so some of the 1000+ pokemon are a bit more viable. Some pokemon having lower attack makes matches less one shot centric, or lowering some defenses might make some mons not impossible to get over without using 100% chance to crit moves. I'm looking at you urshifu lol

Wait this is the 1st time I'm hearing about this and USUM is my favorite game. Midnight Lycanroc doesn't learn it's own signature move Accelerock,TF!?
How about giving hypno a psychic type equivalent of sleep powder in a more accurate sleepmove. That os a specialmove with a 10% or so chance at sleep.
I know sleep is strong but it is kind of his thing
7:53 he does a lot of my five star raids for me in SV. Great for catching
0:12 critical for my one hit raids in sv.
Wish cos I don’t like giving stuff recover … (1 minute earlier) give the whole dusknoir line recover
11:23 What couldve been 😪
Magmotar
Fire/Dark
Mega Launcher
Electivire
Electric/Fighting
Iron Fist
10:15 also what couldve been 😭
Day
Normal/Rock
Midnight
Dark/Rock
Dusk
Fighting/Rock
Magmortar is ok, just needs a little change of stats like you said. However I'd lower the speed and attack to make them 63 and 85 respectively and add 10 to each of hp, def and sp.def
I prefer using Magmortar over Electivire...M can use more coverage
E just looks cooler
Great video bro!!
I think hypno needs an evolution I think that would be sweet
Just give Magmortar the Gallade treatment, by giving it Mega Launcher to go along with it Aura Sphere, Dragon Pulse, and Dark Pulse
EDIT: and do the same with Electivire by giving it Iron Fist, even though Iron Fist is weak as hell in its current state (not 1.5x, not even 1.3x like Tough Claws and Sheer Force, just 1.2x).
Finally giving it Bulk Up, Knock Off and to a lesser extent Trailblaze are steps in the right direction, it could still use Close Combat and Drain Punch tho.
Don’t forget armor canon that move fits magmortar a lot
I honestly think someone at Gamefreak just hates Lycanroc Midnight. Not only did they blatantly make it the worst one compared to Midday and Dusk, but also in Scarlet and Violet, they took Sucker Punch away from it. Yet both Midday and Dusk get to keep Sucker Punch on top of Accelrock.
Hey Mystic here is a Pokémon team I used to beat Pokémon Silver. I know you’re a Gen 2 lover so this might interest you.
1. SAKURA the Meganium
2. SAI the Slowbro
3. KAKASHI the Nidoking
4. NARUTO the Ninetales
5. SASUKE the Skarmary
6. ROCK LEE the Hitmontop
Honorable mentions go my temporary team members:
1. Choji the Geodude/Graveler for the first three gyms
2. Shukaku the furret for Headbutt and Cut
3. Tobirama the Lake of Rage shiny Gyarados as HM slave
I would go with hawlucha I would raise it's attack from 93 to 125 as it's in it's pokedex entry in omega sapphire it states that's it can keep up with hariyama and machamp in strength and they have like around 130 strength stat so putting it at 125 makes sense as to balance it out with it's decent speed stat off 118 and raise it's hp to 102 but I would lower both of its special stats to 40 so the it retains the same base stat total of 500 with the moves it learns and the abilities it has would make it viable, you could go with unburden and make it an sweeper put on a focus sash and use swords dance or hone claws to buff it's attack and when the sash breaks it gets a speed boost making it an threat but as any sweeper a priority move or any multi hit moves would wipe it out easily still but at least it will now actually do something instead of being a sac Pokémon
(This is off it's performance in VGC in regular play it is perfectly fine )
You have your 1k likes, now where is our Seviper video, internet Pokèman
Disagree with boltund getting that much of a boost - having BP 95-100 moves with no drawback/95-100% accuracy with 110 attack is a bit too powerful. Maybe 100-105
Dusknoir crawled so duskclops can run and no you don’t want duskclops to have recover
Octillery needs some love
Oricorio. I love the gimmick and their looks. Especially the Ghost form. However, their movepools suck and get no extra damage aside from its Flying moves and that one dancing move.
Hypno’s mediocre stats is really the reason why I removed Hypno. 😒
I used magmortar and electivire in my HG play through, completed last week, and they were awesome. Electivire was MVP and faster than reds team
Idk about this guy, but I always have Boltund on my team, and he always comes through for me, and a lot of those times he’s come in with the clutch win
I think Onix needs a re work. I think it needs to be in the same realm as Gyarados’s BST. And rework the specs. I think Steelix needs about 580 BST .
I think that all these Pokemon are still bad and could use some buffs.
Midnight lycanroc is easily the coolest one and fits the whole “Lycan” name the best but damn why did they have to make it viably the worst
toxic boost zangoose ( choice scarf ) + prankster grafaiai with toxic. In a doubles match was the best I could do for zangoose lol
Magmortar is fine in-game. But yeah, Dusknoir is a frustrating case because it's so cool, but it's stats are illogical.
This vid is pretty watchable at 2x speed
I will never forgive them for what they did to my favorite Lycanroc form
Gen Wunner here. Competitive Boltund Rocks!!! ⚡⚡⚡Snarl, Thunderbolt, Helping Hand, Charge. Backed up Assault Vest Mudsdale, Light Screen Max Special Atk. And SPD Xatu, Psychic Fang, Close Combat, Wild Charge, Extreme Speed Arcanine carried me through Sword and Shield. 🎉🎉🎉😊❤
I strongly disagree with Magmortar being on here. 😤
Love this vid, make more!!!
If Mega Absol didn't exist, I wish base Absol had better stats. Just give it the 115 special attack and 115 speed from its Mega form, but keep the 130 attack from its base form, and it's fine.
4:03 that would actually be four.
magmorter doesn't hit hard enough? really? have sunny weather set up and with a modest nature and expert belt or life orb , its flamethrower and fire blast can take almost anything out.
Can we just give Zangoose and Seviper new Evos?
Nah, we can leave Hypno where it's at. That thing should just be forgotten 😂
I can agree that some of these Pokemon could stand to be better in some way.
I still like dusknoir and magmortar either way.
I'm WAITNG for Game Freak to introduce an ability that automatically sets Trick Room on switch in. If Hypno had an ability that sets Trick Room on switch in, it would instantly be top tier.
This ability should never exist and would completely break the game
@@Maggolando Once per battle?
Today I learned 90 base Attack and Special Attack on Boltund is "mediocre"
Why doesn't magmortar have mega launcher? It's arms are freaking cannons.
