Replace the pegs to get the weight down, they are bobbins. If you pitch the head into the wind and leave the zip open a little you'll have no condensation problems, especially with a buff over the face. I got mine for 70 quid and love it

Nice review Stu. Presumably all that black area is mesh. The hooped bivy is a game changer, not least for preventing slugs having relay races on your face🤣. I like (so far) the Elan as it is low profile and has mesh in front of and behind your head. This gives good ventilation. The side zip also makes for easy entry/exit. With a side zip it’s way easier to get up for a pee. You don’t have to leave your bag. I recommend using a small tarp to deflect weather and give you a sheltered cooking area look forward to seeing you out in your bivy. Atb
Yeah all the black bits are mesh, so as long as its a dry evening it should have a decent amount of ventilation, do like the look of the Elan though ... I keep looking on Ebay to see if any bargains appear. Will deffo look at using a tarp though for some extra protection while cooking
I’ve looked at that bivvy but the weight just puts me off. Also, In Scotland, we really don’t need to worry as much about being stealth. Look forward to seeing you out in that
Was gonna get this. Then realised I’d have no where to put my boots and rather not bring my sheep Sh!t covered boots in with me XD. So I need a little tarp outside.
Forgot to mention I used a 35 litre alpkit Airlok extra dry bag to store the bulky stuff outside the bivy which I don’t need during the night.

Yes deffo need a tarp or maybe a large dry bag to stick everything in.
