I find this commercial weirdly captivating, and I don't know why. It's very simple and straightforward-- and while it's not imaginative or cutting-edge advertising, it's neatly assembled, with a crisp script and a very tidy, carefully arranged sequence of shots. It's well done for what it is.
Now that I see it, hearing again, I can hear those words! Thank you!
Erik, i had a dream last night and you were in it.
Worked for safelite for 3 1/2 years. Loved it at first the corporate started new pay plans. Told us we would be making more money. Lies. The potential was there but ypu would work your self to death trying to achieve the goal. Nothing was ever good enough for them and it always seamed they only told us what we wanted to hear. Actually sent me into a very depressed state and was effecting my family life because i was so miserable. Use to be able to work 6-8 hrs a day and bring home 700 to 800 a week. New pay plan i was working 40+ hrs (and driving an hour and a half to and from work) and barely making ove 450 a week. Company is a joke. I work as a chef now making just as much as when i left that hell hole and have no more stress. Thanks for wasting 3 and a half years of my life Safelite. Only good thing about the job was meeting new ppl and learning the trade (which was done in a very sloppy halfass way)
That's the pain of working with a worldwide conglomerate. I hope you're doing okay in your new endeavors.
Yep! We have companies around the globe.
this commercial rocks! always hear this in southern california, mostly on KCBS, and i thought this was a so cal based company. mind if i use this commercial in a video commercials montage i'm doing?
Would be fantastic if you were 2 weeks out on being able to service my damage. Now do I just not drive my vehicle until then?
in germany the company is called carglass, in the UK and Ireland it is called Autoglass, but in all countries the spot is the same
That SMile is the most funniest thing ive seen in a commercial xD
@DrHogfan It's true. Hot & cold temps can cause the windshield to expand and contract, which can cause the damage to spread easily. There's a link to external research on the safelite.com site for more detail. The chip can normally be repaired & the structural integrity restored using the repair system shown here. There are cases, though, when the damage will spread due to a number of circumstances. Unfortunately, it's hard to anticipate how broken glass will respond.
@reecerd. The actual point of repairing a chip in your windshield is to regain the original strength of the windshield and to prevent it from spreading. It is not intended to just make it disappear. If that were the case itd just crack out. Id take a very small blemish and 45 minutes of waiting over a cracked windshield.
Did it really stop airing on the 19th? I'm not seeing it anymore! Going through Erik withdrawl.....
This commercial is full of graphic embeds. Check the frames around 5:00 and note the shape of the car door handle. This arrow shape has been drawn -- not photographed.
Near 17:00 a window crack effect is generated. Within the "crack" several images have been embedded, including a grey skull near the large X.
There are embeds at 31:00 (prior to the notation, "images are a simulation"), a ghost-like moving embed in the upper-left screen at 35:00, and embeds in Erick's black pants at 40:00.
This jingle reminds me of a company in Canada called "Speedy Glass" (which in fact owned by the same company as Safelite). Speedy Glass uses commercials similar to the one above.
"and the windshield's STRONG again" *THUMP*
In New Zealand it's the same company and the same jingle, except it goes "Smith & Smith repair, Smith & Smith replace"
is THat a new method they are using? Safelite did our car a few years ago and sent out some kid who looked 16 and did a terrible job. Windshield looked like shit when he was done.
@TheEgg185 It is "Safelite repair, Safelite replace."
Mira ley que me voy 99.m0 y..

I wonder what's in the "special resin"?
What I've learnt from all of these adds is that windscreen cracks are likely to develop at 01:36.
If I ever have a windscreen chip, I will make sure I'm immune to them developing into cracks, by not going over speedbumps at 01:36.
UK version is Autoglass. Exactly the same story but a bloke with a Birmingham accent.
It's the same as AutoGlass in the UK
It's also the same as Autoglass in the UK.
All i can say is i agree with all the negative comments posted about safelite! all you people listen and believe! I've been there........
Erik is soooo cute. Yay!
There are almost identical adverts like this for all countries Belron operates in, but in Canada its speedy glass, Europe is carglass, the UK is autoglass, Australia is obrien, New Zealand is smith and smith
The biggest problem with chips repairs is that, yes they do help stop the spread but there is no guarantee on how the chip will look after. I have seen many chips get sealed up in fixed only to either still look ugly or slightly less visible.
look at the damn speed he's going over that bump!
@ TheEgg185: the word "repair" in the jingle is not plural, so that's why "Safelight Repair, Safelight Replace" makes perfect sense.
@ThePoopChef The actual jingle is "Safelite repair, Safelite replace".
That's interesting, so do I!
the Safelite guy made my windshield worse so i had to get a new one !
Why does Safelite and Speedy Glass have the same song?
They are both owned by Belron I believe.
Yes, they are sister companies.
You can see the cameras on the dashboard. Didn't anyone notice that?
Cargloush en américain c pour quand ?
@sunburn2007: amp! Wrong answer! The "token black guy", is a hard working, real-life, safelite technician. No Al Sharpton needed.
@ThePoopChef The actual jingle is "Safelite repair, Safelite replace"
@Bittkowski Yes, we are sister companies.
It's Carglass in Europe. n France, this commercial is exactly the same.
@kaiokken AutoGlass all the way!
AutoGlass Repair, AutoGlass replace (L)
GAVIN!
This Erik guy reminds me of Edward Norton's character Sheldon Mopes from Death to Smoochy.
whats with everyone saying erik is hot? rofl.
this is awesome. i wonder if there is something like this in australia. i have like 3 of these in my windscreen. smaller ones
Even worse, I just noticed that if you pause it around the flick, it says "images are a simulation." So he's not even really flicking the spot that he repaired.
Funny, i have never had a safelite repair become that "invisible" after being done.
In France it's Carglass répare Carglass remplace
Should be " Safelite repair but cracks are still there." Almost invisible is an overstatement.
Not only are they unprofessional theyve used a commercial from here in the uk. Type in - autoglass repair auto glass replace ad, copywriting tut
+Tommy Owen they actually are owned by the same company
they are owned by Belron you dumb ass. they buy up tons of glass shops.
Germany: "Carglass repariert, Carglass tauscht aus!"
I dunno why, but the safelite song kinda sounds like MJ is singing! :] XD
That jingle is getting on my last nerve.
why this company has an english name in germany and a german name in england?
I have the feeling the crack has been made digitally
Couple things this commercial doesn't say: The windshield could crack during the work, and it doesn't completely go away, at all. Well, that second one should go under misleading.
smart
They do not repair. Only prevent. The chip stays and looks worst after being filled. Your better off leaving it or replacing the windshield.
I'm moving to Des Moines and crashing into the biggest pothole in town so Erik can come and inject his special resin.
autoglass repair autoglass replace... almost the same as the british 1 :P
Eric a hottie! I love the way he says "big bump". I got a big bump for him alrighty!!!
I like the British autoglass commericial better
And we will USUALLY repair it
Super disappointed. This spot, as well as the website, lead us to believe the fix would be much much better. We didn't expect perfect, but an improvement. There was NO improvement. So I immediately contacted support which was no help. So I asked to speak to a manager. After being on hold for 5 minutes they came back to say they were at lunch and would call me back after their lunch break. That was 4 hours ago and still NO Call Back.
We're sorry to hear you were not contacted Danne. The repair process is only an attempt to save the integrity of the glass, at times the repair may still be visible depending on the size (width and depth) of the chip. -Melanie
@@safelite Still not contacted back... And it was smaller than the chip in your marketing video aboce. Additionally, I can still see a circle from whatever material he added to it. So the work / material actually made it worse. The guy was nice, but the work was not done well. It's bad customer service to do bad work and not stand behind that. And its bad customer service to say you will call back and still don't.
reminds me of "Carglass repariert, carglass tauscht aus!"
@mitchellky We are all sister companies!
This has 22, 891 views..why?
@kiely655 its the same as carglas in germany.
@0reoK0okeez im so sick of commercials PERIOD
Yeah, you guys busted my windshield when trying to repair it today not going to Safelite ever again
Thanks for the feedback. Repairs are only an attempt to reinforce the structural integrity of a damaged piece of glass. Due to the existing damage compromising the glass, we're not able to determine how the glass will respond to the repair attempt. -Melanie
@@safelite I understand that but having a half inch crack that’s now 3 feet long because you guys didn’t do your job right and now I need a whole new windshield on a vehicle that’s less than three months. Old is ridiculous. I won’t go to you guys again.
@@safelite now that being said, I do have good feedback on my 2019 Kia Sorrento you guys did amazing replacing my windshield and that one I never had any issues with it
In France, it's "Carglass" :D
Whos this imposter and whats he done with Gavin?
cool shitt .
And Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. In other words: It's the same as AutoGlass in the United Kingdom.
SPECIAL RESIN
Safelite worst experience in my life. Delay, lie, they were horrible. July 2015
AutoGlass
they are all the same in every country xD i getting sick of them, when you go on vacation, the moment u turn on the tv, you see this (mostly in a language you dont understand) and it ruins my whole vacation!!
Carglass repare. Carglass remplace
Sister companies.

Lol! at 0:40 to 0:43
Why can't or won't y'all do a 8" crk? Is it because you can't or won't or just don't have the right tooools for the jooob! WHY?
carglass repariert, carglass tauscht aus xD german commercial of safelite xDD
What he's trying to tell you is that it's not the kind of crack he wants
Why does every guy pull out his wallet when they guy finishes his job they tell you over the phone before they guy even gets there will be no charge!
@0reoK0okeez lol why did you look this comercial up lol :)
Carglass répare, Carglass remplace !
How the hell did I get here??
it`s "Carglass" in german xD
lol in germany they use the english expression car (carglass ) and in the english speaking countrys you use the german expression Auto (car)
Damn, Erik is cute.
yeah baby!! wink.
its the american carglass :D
Safelite? Are you kidding me. The techs in my local shop couldn't flush a toilet without instructions. Special resin LOL...LMAO...LOL Check out the Better Business Bureau on this poor excuse for a company.
I understand, but the United Kingdom IS made up of the four 'constituent countries' of England (which I know you are from), Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Forgive me for offending you.
I like the other commercial with that cute chick.
