And each one of the instruments have different types.... Veena - saraswathi veena, chithra veena, etc.....
Vichitra Veena, Rabaab, Matka, Gungroo, Jal Tarang, Tanpura, iktara etc etc etc
The name of a rare kind of veena is "Ravan Hattha".....
ua-cam.com/video/tqBTGJ3FXRE/v-deo.html
Rudra Veena as well
Bobbili Veena
Some instruments are not even mentioned in the video like Nadhaswaram, Thavil, Panchavadyam from Kerala and some more folk instruments from the south and east of India
I think she was only giving examples
There are also lot of Punjabi Folk Instruments like Tumbi , Dhad , Bagdu , Algoza etc which they didn't mention .
Atleast they should say it is only used carnatic or north india...
She clearly said, it will be impossible to cover all, so she will try to mention only those which are more likely to be seen in concerts.
Fun fact: violin is not an Indian origin instrument but u can never imagine Carnatic without a violin 😅😅
Lol. So Stop imagining & start listening to REAL Carnatic Music.😂😂
@@SuryadevaraRammurthyNaidu 😂😂🤣
Also harmonium.. it has Mid western origin..
@@prashpiii ..Harmonium came from France ..but Indian one is later modified to fit to Indian classical music in 16th century
You guys have a real taste for music. Best reaction channel for musical content.
Oh yes
The instrument you talk about at the end part is called as Jaltarang, there are many pots filled with water and player plays it by striking on it with two sticks, it tuned by adjusting the level of the water in each pot
Congratulations for the new President Rick and Korbin 👍🏼👏🏼😀💐🎉
The clay bowl instruments you were referring to by the end are known as 'JAL TARANG' and they are so soothing.
Where is the classical Tamil Instrument "Parai" ? Which is almost 5000 years old and still in use for various occasions in Tamil nadu, u guys already danced for this in vaathi coming song by vijay, it is a special instrument, u guys should make a separate video for it. 😄
She gave a disclaimer for y'all in the beginning
We have hundreds and hundreds of instruments all over India. Each state has its own 50 100 instruments.
It's good to watch you cover this rich culture.
What a crisp video, there are so many complex variations yet she explained them simply and in short and also gave sound samples.
Glad this was not a stand up when I read Rick's shirt
Hahaha
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
These are Classical Instruments but their are many Regional Folk Instruments also .
Do Vikram Kamal Hassan 232 movie's teaser released yesterday 🔥🔥🔥
If either of you are musically inclined, which of these instruments would you like to learn to play?
Ooooh nice question! They should answer this one!!!!🙏
Such a great video, even I didn't know about these things
I feel the channel has grown in quality of content...way beyond just songs and movie trailer reactions
ua-cam.com/video/tqBTGJ3FXRE/v-deo.html
We Keralites have so many other instruments like CHENDA, MADHALAM, TIMILA, KUZHAL, IDAYKA.. This video covered mostly the north Indian type instruments.
There are a lot of movie and music reaction channels out there but you guys do both of them and review them with great detail. Awesome guys👍🏼❤️.
Her smile makes me happy! Really informative video!
the instrument that you are mentioning about with multiple pots around is called "Jalatharangam". Just search for it in youtube. You will get good videos where this instrument is played and it sounds so sweet.
Wow u guys bring some genuine and informative stuff .. thanks guys .
@12:13 from your description it seems to be Jal Tarang. The cups, aside from being different sizes, are filled with water up to varying levels to tune the sound they produce.
Each instrument has a world of its own to explore. I am hooked to Harmonium and Tabla due to qawwali especially Nusrat fateh ali Khan's performances.
You are recommended to listen to ustad Bismillah Khan shehenai and
react to Kamal hassan's bday mashup
'Jal-tarang' is the name of the glass-bowl set you mentioned toward the end - that is struck with sticks. Yes, Anuja Kamat made some nice videos. This one just covers the prominent types heard commonly in Indian classical concerts and recordings. And, leaving the regional variants aside, there is a large number of folk and modern instruments that can be the subject of a voluminous book. Explore and enjoy.
Also the classic indian instruments like. Sitar and stuff
People really need to maintain those and treat them like. Holy thing
We usually do puja of that instrument
Before and after using the instrument we pray and thank god that he made us soo lucky that we could play this instrument
Anyway I love your reactions love love❤️
She has missed out nagadwar or nadaswaram from the carnatic world, which is also a wind instruments played with a reed like Shenoy.
Clay utensil instrument is " Jala Tharangam " means Water Vibrations! 😀 Yes, I have seen concerts on that one. Wind instrument " Naga Swaram " and " Thvil" skin instrument didn't make it to list! Being a South Indian how she missed these two ancient ones from Southern Temple to marriage ceremony ; must haves.
Quite a precise one...Still misses a lot...but great sum up..Khol...used in Bengal....vaisnavite festivals n Pung Cholom..in Manipuri dance...Famously the Bengali version of Dhol....i. e the Dhaak....played during Pujas......Intrinsic part of Bengal...
Anuja is an artist. I believe these were her own doodles. You can follow her on Insta for more. Also, you can watch her video explaining the difference between Indian and Western classical music and get a taste of her acting skills too. 😄
These are basics and all of them have subtypes. Some of the instruments have bass version like 'surbahar', 'rudraveena'.
The one with the cups and water is called Jaltarang.
Refresher class after so many years
The instrument made by cups, set in semi circular formation, with water filled in it and played with help of a stick like thing, is called "Jal-tarang" if I am getting your explanation correct about that video (Not an expert but I am guessing), thankyou for this video..very educational :)
Jal Tarang is the name for the instrument. Fill water in ceramic bowls and play.
Fun exploring reaction...
Lovely...
Cheers,
Pradeep Rajkumar.
Pollachi,Tamilnadu.
Heard winning speech of Kamla Harris... Felt proud on her... It was goosebumping... Congratulations USA from India💪💪👏👏
All her videos are great...You should do more of her videos on various raags individually explained with examples from Hindi movie songs..
And also each state has their folk instruments too
She missed one Indian string instrument which doesn't have frets: Gotu Vadyam played by Dr. Ravi Kiran !
Cool shirt Rick!
You are so interested in Indian classical music, you NEED to watch the Amazon series BANDISH BANDITS. Dont go by the trailer, it is a remarkable show brilliantly exploring the complexities of Indian classical music. Naseeruddin Shah is there too. Please just watch it! It's all the rave right now.
Congratulations America you people saved the democracy , pluralism, and most importantly it feels like finally madness will be over and truth shines 😘
Veena is oldest finger dancing music instrument in the world, made in tamilnadu.
React to vikram title teaser🥰
Oldest but still popular instruments-- nadhaswaram and thavil have been missed out.
Flute comes from Lord Krishna
Veena & Sitar comes from Goddess Saraswati ..
Mridanga & Dambaru comes from Lord Shiva ..
Sarangi also comes from devotional songs or bhajans for Lord Vishnu & Lord Shiva

Nadaswaram is one of the main aerophones used in South India. It should have been mentioned. Also chenda..
Watch the original BANGLA web series Tansener Tanpura.. The song Tomake Bhalobheshe is simply mind blowing... Rick you can dedicate this song to Indrani...
There is a form of Indian music you guys haven't yet heard of, it's a folk music form belonging to the eastern state of Odisha, more precisely to one of the western districts of the state known as 'Sambalpuri'

Knowedge tip: indian instruments seems to be mostly popular hinduatani and token carnatic instruments. To be fair thats the disclaimer at the beginning of the video. Good work. Protip: please note this is probably a sliver of all popular instruments and from the perspective of certain folks.
She forgot Nadhaswaram, the ancient carnatic wind instrument!
React Vikram title teaser
Where is chenda ???
I think that there are many different instruments that are not studied because of their regional or tribal origin and practice.
Korbian you might be the happiest lad out there...
anuja kamat herself is an artist and all the drawings/ sketches in her videos are done by her
