I’m a Marathi. All I can say is Marathi is very crisp and clear and emphasizing words to the T especially the last letters of every word! Every letter is crisp and clear. Rarely letters are mixed/combined together. Which makes us use our tongue in a lot of different movements to create unique pronunciations! It is hard to pronounce these if it is not your mother tongue or if you haven’t learnt this language since birth/childhood!!❤

yes in our Marathi language there are additional letters like ळ - L but ल - also L but in pronounciation they are different.
for example my surname Salvi - which pronounce साळवी but when i meet other state people like hindi or any other language they can't pronounce ळ so they pronounce सालवी
even in foreign countries I lived they pronounce "सालवी" (You can copy paste these 2 words and test it in Google translator where they have pronouncer option - सालवी / सालवी)
SImilarly ण - N and न - N same pronounce differently. in Marathi पाणी - Water but in other language they say पानी .
same with ठ - Th and थ - Th

We have ण, न, थ, ठ, in Hindi as well since the script is the same i.e. Devnaagri script. But ळ is found in Marathi version of Devnaagri not in the Hindi version.
Many similiar sounding consonants have been removed from the Hindi Devnaagri in an attempt to 'standardize' it. The Hindi varnamala looked a lot different in the 18th century as can be seen in the "Gentoo code". We had vowel like laghu and dirgh 'ri', now we only have laghu 'ri' we also had laghu and dirgh 'lri' now we have neither.

Good that you like to learn these languages and are curious about it. Being a Marathi I would like to add my understanding about the sarcasm point that it comes naturally to us in the language like even while learning in schools, day to day lives, in our households, sarcasm and wit is natural, bold and straightforward, some non Marathi speaker can find rude, rough or impolite but it’s not it’s just genuine sarcasm and wit that is very generally used in Marathi.
Also to add here the natak (theatre) has played a huge role in it since it’s been played/ practiced from ages which has developed to put our thoughts in a respectful yet sarcastic way, of course not always but only when needed.
Every language is unique and sweet in India..proud to be Indian and maharashtrian
