Tabla play will be synonymous to Zakir Hussain till the end of this human civilization. Some people born to define the art rather defined by art. Zakir Hussain is that legend. भावपूर्ण श्रद्धांजलि! वाह उस्ताद वाह!!

An incomparable concert! Bravo! The first live music concert I attended in 1968 in of all places Melbourne, Australia, was a concert of classical Indian music. I fell in love. We call it “world music” now; then we somewhat disparagingly called it “folk”. It is of course the music of royal courts and the “classical” music of non-European culture. It doesn’t get any better than this performance.

The way they interact, through both their music and their smiles, is the perfect reminder that one can be both playful and spiritual; that laughter belongs in the religious experience; and that joy is fundamentally sacred.

Music reaches beyond countries. It makes us unite and see beyond cultures, colours or boarders. To me music is life. And in this planet at least its made (mostly) by us human beings. And yes, I listen to music from any country and era almost. My taste pretty much knows no boundaries for all expression is majestic creativity and beauty or beast itself manifested.
