Captain Keyes in the games/books is practically like Master Chief's stepdad. He was there chaperoning Dr.Halsey when she picked him for the program and walked onto a school playground to ask him a few questions as a 6 year old boy. Keyes knows more about chiefs roots than almost anybody besides Halsey. This show doesn't represent that dynamic one bit, it's so odd.
@hi hungry i'm dad i.e Hate portraying a masculine badass character with the responsibility of protecting all of Humanity as someone who is calm, composed, heroic, smart, and is willing to do the most dangerous, dramatic stunts to win a battle.
As if they're going to give respect to the source material by taking the best things from the games and books. They can't even get the gun sounds righ.
The writers of this show should be given a Darwin award for having a negative IQ score yet somehow managing to survive and even thrive in the real world. Imagine being shocked by someone simply saying "this isn't spaghetti" after you served them a hamburger. Not just that this is after you went out of your way to invite them over for dinner by promising to make them spaghetti, because you know its their favorite dish. You even showed them pictures of all the ingredients needed to make spaghetti sitting on your counter ready to be made. It's either a complete lie/fraud, or they are basically braindead, not a logical or intelligent thought in their skull
The moment it was announced that the producers of this show never even touched the games before and were doing their own “take” in the franchise was the moment I officially lost all interest in this show.
I mean that worried me at the time, the guys that are doing the SHOW never even touched the games? but that doesn't necessarily explain the failure of the series. I think they could have done an incredible job even without touching the games. In the end, they just gave us garbage :/
The producers have nothing to do with the show other than providing funds. That's what producers do. The writers are the ones you have beef with. But what you stated is a false representation of what actually happened. The writers said they didn't play the Halo games because they didn't want to feel boxed in or restricted when writing the story. Instead they went to Halo seminars where 343 Industries broke down the entire universe, lore and story of Halo to them. The writers at Paramount know more about Halo than most fans. Also, you failed to add that 343 Industries, the developers of Halo worked directly with Paramount on this story. It was 343s idea to have Master Chief unmasked. That's the problem with internet rumors. You heard somebody say that and instantly came here to regurgitate what you heard without ever doing any research for yourself. Paramount didn't go behind 343 industries back to create this TV series. They worked directly with them and everything in the TV series was green lit by the developers of Halo.
@@kipter that's a lazy take. It's the internet. Everyone thinks everything is bad but they never have a reason why. You're a negative person so naturally you will see negativity in all things.
To kill a Hunter you need only to kill enough of the worms to make the whole colony that's psionically linked together die... so fighting without their armor is the colony just asking to be killed.
@@BladeValant546 A person can still fight without toes but you won't see someone cutting them off before a fight. Yes they CAN fight without armor, just like how you can run into a fight without your armor, but it's retarded.
Contrary to what Hollywood might tell you, modern military tactics are slightly more complex than standing in a line shooting at the enemy and missing.
The forgotten point in the fall of reach and the flood books is that master chief often gets in trouble relying on the armor and shield systems that get overwhelmed quite fast
sergeant johnson also has multiple books and comics associated with him as well. To make things even crazier, the sjw's apparently hate Johnson because a badass who was the only one to survive a legit horror movie while also having an extensive back story and a fan favourite is apparently a racist caricature.
Episodes 5 and 6 were not so bad, they were going back on track on halo lore, the master chief, unsc, everything we care about... .mixing it with other things no one cares about but they were going back to roots with those episodes.... after chapter 7 I felt like crying... I mean I waited for this series a long time, and was really excited. The whole chapter 7 is about Kwan and a story nobody cares about. After the credits rolled I unsubscribed from paramount+. don't
I want to point out that the UNSC/halsy killing chiefs, or any of the spartans, parents is also a deviation from the lore. In the lore after the children were kidnapped they were all flash cloned and the clones were sent back to thr familys. Full flash clones are really hard to successully make and usually end up having internal issues and breakdown. All of the flash clones bar one were dead within a year. The family's thought their children were dead instead of missing so they didn't come looking for them. Pretty horrible but smart play on halsys part.
Huh, for some reason I remembered it as the flash-clones being inert/dead immediately upon being switched out with the spartan candidate. It just made more sense in my head, you create a perfectly matching dead body to switch with the candidate, and because it's already dead it avoids complications down the line.
The TV show already admitted before they released the show that they were making a new original series because they want something “Fresh” that’s why I’m confused as of why people are freaking out that it’s different from lore
@@jobe_seed6674 Haven't these retards learned already that fundamentally changing established genres and set pieces and story lines and disregarding lore is tantamount to committing media seppuku? Star Wars learned, the hard way, about rewriting shit and having no direction, but injecting politics. The Comic Book "moguls" are learning the hard way because their "new" shit is not fresh, its stagnant political banter for a specific group of morons. Star Trek learned the hard way as well. So has Doctor Who. Video Games like CoD Vanguard and BFV also learned incredibly difficult lessons in deciding to make "fresh" (which is just new code for "We're making something to force globally accepted leftist politics down your throat, and if you disagree, you're a bigot") that which had running, working, effective formulas from their origins starting after Medal of Honor. Just because its fresh, doesn't mean its going to be good. You can have a fresh pile of shit covered garbage, its still a pile of shit covered garbage. The greater issue is they clearly didn't elaborate HOW MUCH they were going to alter shit. And its clear that they've made it just a caricature of Halo. Its not Halo.
@@crestfallenwarrior8435 I'd say the Silent Hill movie was good. It deviated from the source material, but it still felt like Silent Hill and the cinematography was great (plus Yamaoka's soundtrack is always brilliant)

At least the Silent Hill movie tried to be like the games and did a good job.
Its like they're trying to create an "alternate history where john had Cheerios instead of Lucky Charms" sort of deal, but fans don't question "hey what if elites drank coffee instead of tea" because what already exists is more interesting than what could've been
yet another case of show writers projecting their ideas and stories of "I can do it better!" into a franchise that literally has no need for that kind of thinking.
You are wrong, this is a global imposition, its everywere, subliminal or direct, this is the Israel plan for humanity, they are just starting you have an afro achiles, and every occidental culture is getting feminist anti white propaganda, anti medium class, anti family, black sprmcism etc
The helmet removal problems "seems" like a small thing for them, but it is huge. It's basically Spiderman 3 all over again (the one with sandman, venom, and the second green goblin), where Topher kept having the Venom mask peeled back cause he HAD to have his face time.
You don't even necessarily have to do that. I'm sure many halo fans would follow a Halo series following multiple perspectives of common marines. Soldiers who just try and survive a war that they're on the defensive on and aren't super soldiers like Spartans or even advanced one's like ODST's. Could easily do a chief cameo near the end, could see the war through the eye's of normal troops.. ya know.. just follow a much more brutal view of the covenant war and see what the small guy's achieved even though they're so outgunned and outmanned.
Well you don’t have to do that, look at the Sonic Movie, that’s not very close to the source material and it mostly just uses things from the games but both of them are still great. You just have to make it work
I dont understand. One of non Halo friends is absolutely loving this. I have no idea why. Remove the word Halo from this show and there is hardly any meat. I think they would have done better following an ODST squad and making sure it was canonically accurate than this. An ODST squad would have much lower stakes (they aren't saving the galaxy) and yet still feel like Halo where we follow some epic troops around.
I'm not even a Halo super fan and I hate it. Yeah i've played the games but I think i've only beaten 3 and Reach. Read some of one of the books. But I always loved the setting and the lore. Shame really, they could have had a scifi classic if they just stuck to the story and characters. There's way too much stereotypical Hollywood bullshit in this show. Muh evil military, muh amnesia and mind control etc. Like, these tropes aren't necessarily wrong but they've been done to death and it doesn't fit Halo's story at all.
@@Gaia_Gaistar ya they've failed to capture Halo. The UNSC isn't terrible. ONI is but the UNSC isn't objectively terrible. They're mostly good for humanity. Brain washing half exists in Spartans but it's due to them being trained from childbirth (more in line with clones from Star Wars). There's such wrong that it hard to look past it.
Stakes are not dependant on the physical scale, merely the writing in the stakes you're establishing. You could make a fight scene with the Covenant above Earth and nobody cares if it's a shit scene, but a show about an ODST squad that's well written with good characters, that can be made to feel much more high stakes

As far as im concerned, Halo was over as soon as Bungie left. Now we're in a gaming world where Halo is as lame as the annual COD releases, and I've master chiefs butt. I didn't need to see the master cheeks.
To me, Halo was meant to finish with Halo 3. This is really an obvious fact if you just read the back of the game's box. I am happy Bungie could finish the series. It is just a shame what happened to it afterward.
I absolutely hate how Soren-066's story gets absolutely butchered in the TV show. In the books, he's actually a bit of a social outcast from the other spartan trainees. When he gets the spartan augmentions, he's left physically disabled and horribly disfigured as his body rejects whatever chemical concoction the UNSC used in the program. Now in constain pain and unable to even fit in a standard spartain suit, he actually gets put into a desk job because halsey feared he'd be too much of a liability due to whatever team he gets put on potentially risking missions to ensure Soren gets through alive. After working as basically a paper pusher for a couple months, an undercover insurrectionist preys on Sorens growing resentment towards the UNSC for turning him into a freak of nature. Soren ends up stealing a pelican along with some secret information of what ONI has been up to, intending to spread it to the public. Though he ends up getting shot down in a forest, Soren survives the crash and flees the search parties, never to be found again. Soren's life before being taken into the Sparten program is also really interesting, as his life growing up is pretty fucked up and he was the only child Halsey actually gave a choice as to if he wanted to join the program or not. It's sad that this version of Soren is not what we get in the TV show. The writers don't care about adapting actual Halo lore, and anyone who supports the TV show is not a real Halo fan.
It puzzles me to read "we want to add depth to Halo, we want to add deep characters and drama" and then watch them push away almost every cool drama element in the Halo books and lore. It almost looks as if they're pushing away the fans on purpose. But with them, they're pushing away good drama, too.
@@bigrotary7023 dude I don't know why but I'm recently starting to see people who like this show bullying those who don't. This show is 5% of what a Halo show could be and people have a right to give bad reviews and criticism. Believe me, they're both well earned.
The thing about these recent desecrations of beloved franchises is that: these are written by people that have never created anything original, we’re never involved in the original product and have no loyalty to maintain the integrity of the brand because it was never theirs to begin with
Almost every action a character takes in this show can be described with one phase: "Oh Heavens, my African friend, what action art thou attempting to perform?"

There’s a sort of weird irony going on here that Paramount have made both the Sonic Movies and the Halo TV series. Sonic was once seen as a joke of the entertainment world starting with Sonic 06 and around the same time Halo 3 had come out showing true passion with some decent animated movies soon after. Today, Sonic is the one breaking box office records and video games that seem to be improving all while Halo has the terrible TV show and subpar video games.

@@xXRand0mDudeXx they didn't bother looking at the games and pretty much throw the books out the window kid. They didn't bother to keep and use what made Halo good. You wannabe fans are pathetic and ignorant.
I forget where I heard this quote once. "If you're going to change something that change needs to be for the better." I genuinely believe there isn't a single person working on this show who ever asked themselves, "Why are we making this change?" I don't usually say this without some hint of irony or sarcasm, but this is the quintessential example of disrespectful. If I were more of a legal man and could back up this claim, I'd say it verges on legitimate theft EVEN IF money changed hands. Because it took a pre-established, beloved, wonderfully written series of games that many... MANY generations of gamers and entertainment enthusiasts positively adore and it used that very same establishment to push an inferior, husk of a show that bears no resemblance to what took the world by storm and literally made the Xbox brand a household name. I'd say I'm personally offended, but once the show is over none of us will ever think about it again except in retrospectives where we talk about, "Hey remember that one time they tried to make a Halo show and it sucked?" All while the series of games it's using to masquerade with are still beloved the world over for all time. I say this last statement and I'm willing to die on this hill. It takes a hell of a lot to make Dragon Ball Evolution look watchable. I'd rather be put on an IV drip of MORBIUS than ever rewatch this show once it's done. This makes the last few seasons of The Walking Dead look like Shakespeare. And may God have mercy on your souls.
The production studio only cares about the IP with existing recognizable names as it's guaranteed viewership. They hire the most talentless hacks for writing because the industry is hopelessly nepotistic. And the talentless hacks use the opportunity to "experiment" with their "geniusness". They really believe they are flawless master talents. They believe they really are making the story a lot better. That's why there's so much fluff by the showrunners when the writing gets criticized. You, nameless pleb, have no right to criticize the masterwork of the woke writers.
And most importantly, they are doing this because it's already proven to be successful as a formula. People will still give up their money for this. It happened with the Witcher and Wheel of Time 100% identically, with the story being represented in name only but no substance. And yet they made money. So why would the studio care about writing quality if the products are successful anyway?
Oh, but they _do_ ask themselves "Why are we making this change?" But their answer is even worse than if they never questioned themselves: "Because I'm better and more perfect-er than the people who created something from nothing through blood, sweat, tears, and love, which I am now ripping apart and remaking in my own image, because I couldn't create something new and beautiful in the first place." Just look at how the soulless Disney Corporation massacred our boy Star Wars; Nob Iger extorted the franchise from George Lucas because he coveted that cash cow, then Jar Jar Abrams, Ruin Johnstain, and Darth Kennedy's approach to making their irredeemable fan fiction trilogy was pretty much "we're going to show how much better we and our movies are by crapping all over the franchise that we're simultaneously plundering and plagiarizing everything from." All of these cultural vandals are driven by a form of post-modernist ideology, or as I like to call it, anti enlightenment. Either they're inspired by great workers, but are too arrogant and slothful to improve themselves to make something as grand, so they revel in their own mediocrity until they're taking their own waste and calling it "art" (sometimes literally: I've seen them do it), or they look upon those works with venomous envy and resent because of how much it reminds them of their own imperfections and shortcomings, so the only way they can feel better about themselves is by stealing and/or destroying things they're too incompetent to create themselves. They're cultists of a godless religion that peaches pride, stagnation, and decay. Halo is just their latest sacrifice to The Void, stolen from a nearby tribe because they refused to offer anything of their own.
If youre a fan of the heavily devoloped lore you'll simply notice that the show hamfistedly changes all the core characters and the setting, and even the timeline is so super off. They stripped the narrative essence from the games and the books by giving the show an almost totally new plot. Standing as a sci-fi show it's alright, somewhat mediocre. But as Halo material it falls short in almost every way. Starting with the fact that Master Chief is just a silly puppet that fights humans for the military. The Spartans from the games only fought people for a mission or two as teenagers before the covenant arrive. To give perspective on the timeline, the covenant suddenly appear to wage war with the humans in 2525 in the OG story. In this story it's already 2552, master Chief is like 42 years old. In the games he's been fighting the covenant for like 2 and a half decades by Halo one era, which is 2551. The show subtracted to decades worth of Master Chief wrecking the covenant and becoming more badass because of it. Just the tip of the iceberg as far as the elements that the producers butchered with their "fresh, and more accessible" approach.
that a story is predectible deosnt mean is a shitty story nor that it has bad writing, in any case would mean the other way, that it has a solid story and very good writhing... the shitshow of this particular story has nothing to do with this factor, the show has bad writing and the shot calls aren't mad by the story itself but rather from "the message"... so you are not calling shot for the story, you are calling shot for the writers themself, there is a small line there
Its sad we never got the Neil Blomkamp Halo movie. District 9 is a stellar scifi movie, the man could have done this IP justice. The action and story telling in that movie was awesome
Disregarding everything else, the success of sonic and the failure of this show comes down to one major difference. The director/writers of sonic were fans of the game and the source materials, the writers of halo were not. That's all there is to it
Bad Writing: Big Super Soldier somehow brushes off life of soldiering indoctrination since childhood and wants to feel again by removing pill stuck up his butt. Good Writing: Super Soldier is one of the few of his kind to survive a genocidal war against his race, NOT because he is the best, because he was lucky. A shared sentiment by many who survive the horrors of war.
Now I admit that I am a very lazy person but if I had some writing control I would have had Master Chief realize that his whole childhood is gone because they where all killed off by the Covenant and is indoctrinated into the Spartan program because Halsey saw potential because John 117 survived based off of luck and MC has no where else to go and chooses to embrace USNC as a last minute thought. This is so what MC would understand what the Spartan program means as to understand Halsey's point of view for what high stakes it would have to take to protect humanity
"Constantly seeing mix-race couples in commercials and tv shows, you might ask a few question." Yes indeed, a few questions such as "What's your problem?" and "Do you actually have an issue with it despite your claiming you don't?"
4:38 in the books, there are insurrection colonies that are placed within hollowed out asteroids, but are mostly controlled by either Military Dictators targeted by the UNSC, or capitalists that have actually made their colonies sustainable. The books do go into the fact that the insurrectionist board and steal supplies and ships from the UNSC, and with use them for trade in the black market or retrofit the Al-a Star Sector with crazy contraptions. Your probably right on the show runners just taking it from another show tho. Their hurt feelings and DMCAs show that it proves their originality

I highly, HIGHLY, recommend that you and your viewers read The Fall of Reach which is the book that this show pulls most of it's events from. The book is leaps and bounds better than the show and I am in utter bewilderment that they decided to Jason Bourne the Master Chief and make him into a person who can't remember his past... In the book he remembers everything, questions his actions all the time (in his head, but it shows his humanity). The writers had to put their ugly fingerprint on a great story to "adapt it to the medium" because they can't write... The story was already written and they screwed it up with unnecessary changes. Go read the book, watch the show and realize how messed up their perception of what makes a good story.
I've only read one Halo book and it was ages ago. It was the one with a bunch of Chief's past in it, I don't think it was Fall of Reach though, not sure. I'm no stranger to reading trashy scifi novel adaptations and spinoff's of movies and games and it's been a hot minute since I sat down with a book so maybe I should check em out. 100% agree. Any real fan of the games should dive into the books if they want to know the real story of the Halo universe. I started driving a lot for work and started using Audible to get access to the Halo Audiobooks. So far I've listened to every single halo boom available on the store. It's incredible the universe they have created in the books and it's more incredible how badly paramount screwed up the telling of a story that was literally already written.
This is just atrocious. I'm glad I played all the Bungie Halos before, so they can't take that away from me, but godDAMN am I ashamed for having this dumpsterfire be filmed in my country. Also, I hate how they rewrote Chief and Cortana's relationship TWICE already. No, 343, Cortana and Chief weren't "in love", and no, showrunners, Cortana and Chief don't hate each other. Halsey is NOT A BAD GUY, get it through your thick skull, 343 and showrunners. She IS NOT.

Theres a lot I can look past if the writing and acting is on point. It's not a big deal for me that they're black. But one of them doesn't even have the right profession ffs and neither of them act like the characters they're supposed to be playing. Also the portrayal of that space station asteroid is SO MUCH WORSE than what you're thinking. That's supposed to be The Rubble. The Rubble was a settlement in the 23 Librae system. It consisted of hundreds of hollowed-out asteroids, moved together and connected by docking tubes, trailing the gas giant Hesiod in the L5 Lagrange point. The Rubble was inhabited by Kig-Yar and Insurrectionists in an uneasy peace, with a large portion of its population made up by survivors from the human colony of Madrigal, which had been glassed by the Covenant. The Rubble also had its own government and an insurrectionist-owned, and rampant AI Juliana. The Rubble is also the setting of the novel the Cole Protocol, and rather amusing considering the show, it shows insurrectionist views and perspectives along with UNSC and Covenant in a tangled web of a plan in the background of the overall war effort. It's a GREAT read and I highly recommend you look at it. And no, there is no chip in the Spartans. Plenty of augmentations but no chip. That all came from training and their upbringing as soldiers. Chief, and Spartans in general, aren't emotionless. They're just calm and collected after conditioning themselves. Stoic if you will, but they have personalities and quirks.
I never wanted to see the Master Chief's face, let alone his ass. And the show's writers took this path of giving the Chief emotions because they're not talented enough to create a dramatic story with a masked, stoic hero which allows the audience to project themselves onto him. Also, didn't anyone show them what a procedure is necessary to put on and remove the Spartan armor? It's not like changing a pair of jeans and a tee shirt.
It's not the fact that he has emotions, it's the way he expresses them. Simply a pause during a conversation is enough to convey what he's thinking, and what he's thinking defines what he's feeling. His voice never cracked or anything in the Halo games, but when he tells Cortana that he'll return for her and she says "Don't make a girl a promise if you know you can't keep it", there is very clearly an attachment between the two, which is paid off in Halo 3 when Chief DOES return to save her and says "You know me. When I make a promise..." and Cortana finishes his sentence. The guy does care about shit, he's willing to defy orders and endanger himself for very clear reasons.
@@TOONYBOY I agree completely. The animators in the game could convey subtle emotion with a slow turning of the head, or other body language. In _Infinite_ , he treats the bodies of fallen soldiers, and especially Spartans, with a tenderness not shown to Covenent. Such things could be done in the TV series if the writers (and actors) were talented enough; instead they opted for soap-opera melodrama. If they wanted to go that route, they could have focused on a different main character with Chief as an auxiliary, as in _Forward Unto Dawn_ . That would at least have been respectful of the source material. Instead we have this ham-fisted attempt to cash in on the name of the franchise. It's more like _The Expanse_ . They've even used the same actress in similar high-level bureaucrat roles.
@@gagongflip389 It's not that he displayed emotion, it's that they took his helmet off and had him screaming and shouting loads. They went to the complete opposite end of the spectrum. You have "Robot plot device" which is what some people think of the Chief as, and then this, which is a "humanized" version
I'm almost positive from the halo lore the ancient humans were not the same as forerunners at all, they were actually two opposing forces and the flood got in the middle of their war and killed them all off before it was too late to come together for a solution. Also humans gained the mantle of responsibility from the forerunners just before they were eradicated. (basically a title that dictates you'll have responsibility for every lifeform in the universe, and is nothing of real meaning other than humans can now use forerunner tech and the ai on their installations answer to them)
Well theywrote this shit in about that KWAN ASKING FOR A SHIP... HOW DID SHE LEARN TO FLY AT HER AGE AND STAYING ON HER HOME WORLD. Like ships cost a few bucks and not millions and there is a complexity of things to learn to pilot it... WTF
I'm not going to pretend that I know everything about Halo's lore, but I LOVED the part in Reach when Halsey explains why Cortana was created. When you first meet Halsey and you see her finishing Cortana and explaining her purpose, and your mission being to get her to the ship. And 6 Spartans risked everything to finish that mission. Them changing that story, and other things from the story that Bungie created, is really disappointing, and as a big Halo fan that LOVES the Campaign and BTB, I don't have any interest in watching this show.
This is their meeting before making this movie….”how can we trash halo while making it cringingly woke and make it seem like master chief is a shit head man while showing that women are really the ones in charge”. It check all the woke boxes and has no entertaining value. Trash trash trash
Never played the Halo games, but I did see two of the movies, (from memory) "Fall of Reach" and "Forward Unto Dawn". Just from those, it appears the "Halo" show has little in common with the game universe. As a non-fan, I don't find that necessarily bad, but just as a standalone show this isn't very good. The pace is glacial, it has little action for a military sci fi show, and the writing is, to be generous, uninspired (if I see one more static "asteroid field" in a sci fi story, I think I'll scream). I'm reminded of the "Foundation" show, which I quit after two episodes. I haven't reached that point with Halo yet, but I'm not hopeful.
Man I've been waiting for this video brother!!! Keep saying the truth!!! I haven't even finished the first one yet cause I was so disturbed by it I have been waiting for your part 2 lol. I just finished episode 1 finally an now preparing for episode 2.
I like how the armor that takes a whole machine and team of technicians to take off is taken off alone by chief without tools in like 5 minutes; when it takes them a while to take off even a piece of there armor with the proper tools. Also the Rubble is a real place but it’s supposed to be like a insurrectionist center which the Spartans have their first mission to Kidnap someone before they have mjolnir.
I think sergeant johnson is not in because A) well he is black and in the military and the NPC that writing this show only has the military is bad for a plot idea B) they ignored as much of the source material as they can so they just don't know about him
Everyone who has defended this show has gone "if you don't know Halo this show is pretty good." My response is "no, I fucking not a good show! It's literally to stupid to actually exist in anything called reality."
The fact that people are trying to defend this show by saying “Hey as long as you don’t know the source material that is responsible for making this entire franchise, you’ll like it” is just ridiculous. Like seriously where is the logic in that
Have you rated it on rotten tomatoes? Apparently it's doing good. If you don't like it go rate it and send it review hell. Otherwise we're just allowing halo to get screwed by these wanabe fans.
People say that but Sonic has a ton of changes, it's just that even with those changes they still manage to throw the fans a ton of bones. I can tell Sonic's team love the franchise but are beholden to certain studio interference so they try to work around or with it. With the success of the first two movies the studio will probably give them more leeway to go nuts too so hopefully Sonic 3 is better for people like me who hate the studio changes. And Sonic's fucking nonstop quips and annoying voice. All they gotta do for me is make Shadow a turbo edgelord and use Escape the City in the movie though.
@@Gaia_Gaistar Schwartz is a better Sonic than Smith. Hot take out of the way, it helps that Sonic doesn't have one continuous narrative. Edit: The games, not the movies. In case someone manages to get confused.
*SPOILERS* The show just grinds me gears, I liked the first series of books that expanded the lore and built upon the game story. Chief and Cortana's interactions in the beginning were almost curt because Chief couldn't let himself trust Cortana, since the drill instructors on Reach tried to hurt his fellow Spartans during the Wilderness Night Jump exercise too. He reluctantly accepts it because he recalls Deja (boot camp AI) helping his team bug out from that forest wilderness and knows how useful Cortana can be in battle but it is still worrisome that she COULD control his Mjolnir armor. Halsey reassured Chief in the tent where he met Cortana that she ONLY helps adjust fine motor control of the suit, provides intel and will work to preserve both of their lives. That conversation and the following battle with ONI's 1st division(?) to "test" the two of them on the obstacle course, truly helped Chief like and accept Cortana, I mean she used his suit to slap a MF-ing hellfire missile out of the air to keep them from taking a direct impact from it. Their almost curt interactions took a turn towards the mildly sarcastic and witty banter that gamers recognize from the game and the missions that follow after solidify it, it's probably the most loved aspect of Halo's saga outside the epic sci-fi visuals. Seeing Halo disconnect from Bungie for 343 and now Paramount trying to profit off fan's love of it, is demoralizing and disappointing but WOKE garbage ruins good series'. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I'm honestly surprised they didn't simply make Chief or Cortana black just to throw salt in gamer's wounds and push their idiotic transparent agenda more but it seems they only did so to grace gamers with a consolation. Netflix and Hollywood can burn for all I care, none of what they produce is worth watching unless you're a catatonic retard.
Ha anyone lee noticed something about white-feminists? They accuse men of "mansplaining" including Dark-skinned men. They blame white-men for everything and see themselves as SAVIORS or something. Make you wonder who the real racists are.
I never got that from the show. Especially with the Indian admiral, she seems to be driven more by personal feelings towards Halsey and other characters rather than actually having a moral reason. And nobody else is depicted as being neither good or bad except maybe Halsey but Halsey has been depicted that way even before the show. This show is no where near what it should be and they have done things only for the sake of diversity ( the Keyes family🙄) but I wouldn’t go as far as to say they are depicting most of the whites as evil or any non- whites as good. It’s just poorly written with no regard for the source material.
Removing Kwan entirely from the picture would save so much face from this show that it’s not even funny. 4 episodes in and I still don’t care about her character. Literally every single character in her story arc is telling her too literally stop what she is doing yet she refuses to listen and we are forced to listen to it despite it having nothing to do with Johns story. The fact that season 2 was green lit means this is only gonna get even worse

Should have had the guy from Reacher (Alan Ritchson) play Master Chief. Keep the helmet on and dub the games VA over the top. Maybe a face reveal at the end of the season, if at all.
I think it'd be funny if they had hidden his face through this. Then when Chief takes his armor off, they only use camera shots that deliberately hide his face. Back of the head over the shoulder shots and shit.
Yeah, imo they should have have gone the Judge Dredd route. The remake that is. I don't get why they need to show characters faces. In V for Vendetta you never see V's face and it works. I remember thinking that the Mandalorian was refreshing for not showing his face but then the fucking actor got pissy about it. Fucking despise this kinda shit.

Cancel Culture is doing everything they can to silence those who criticize (regardless whether or not constructive and valid) their work. The people who manage and own the Halo TV Series is one of the most aggressive in falsely copyright striking creators I have ever seen. The show is indeed a hot garbage and they can't accept that.
"he should look like hes on gear, because he is" this made me laugh but you actually make a really good point. I figured the show would have a similar look and feel to those live action trailers from reach and ODST but unfortunately it really missed the mark. Im still watching it as its own thing to see how it develops and enjoying the small moments they get right.
The asteroid city is in the books (Fall of Reach) but that is based around a mission before they were technically "Spartans". Like an intitiation mission, capturing a turncoat UNSC officer.

Is that why we barely saw the usual Venom when he talked? Damn..
The best thing they can say for this "show" is that it was one of chiefs nightmares while being adrift on the Dawn.
Moral of the story is if you’re gonna make a tv show based on a massively popular video game. Stick to the source material

I dont understand. One of non Halo friends is absolutely loving this. I have no idea why. Remove the word Halo from this show and there is hardly any meat.

You kinda blew my mind there.

Oh, but they _do_ ask themselves "Why are we making this change?" But their answer is even worse than if they never questioned themselves: "Because I'm better and more perfect-er than the people who created something from nothing through blood, sweat, tears, and love, which I am now ripping apart and remaking in my own image, because I couldn't create something new and beautiful in the first place."
Just look at how the soulless Disney Corporation massacred our boy Star Wars; Nob Iger extorted the franchise from George Lucas because he coveted that cash cow, then Jar Jar Abrams, Ruin Johnstain, and Darth Kennedy's approach to making their irredeemable fan fiction trilogy was pretty much "we're going to show how much better we and our movies are by crapping all over the franchise that we're simultaneously plundering and plagiarizing everything from."
All of these cultural vandals are driven by a form of post-modernist ideology, or as I like to call it, anti enlightenment.

She IS NOT.

And no, there is no chip in the Spartans. Plenty of augmentations but no chip. That all came from training and their upbringing as soldiers. Chief, and Spartans in general, aren't emotionless. @@jamesbrincefield9879 You’re ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!
Thank you for satisfying my morbid curiosity about this show so I don't have to give them money.
*SPOILERS*
The show just grinds me gears, I liked the first series of books that expanded the lore and built upon the game story.
Probably the most sensible and down to earth review of the series as a whole
Has anyone noticed that nearly all the "evil" characters are white. And nearly all the non-white characters are "good".
Ha anyone lee noticed something about white-feminists? They accuse men of "mansplaining" including Dark-skinned men. They blame white-men for everything and see themselves as SAVIORS or something.
Make you wonder who the real racists are.
Yea, I see that literally everywhere in western media
western media is always scheming, at all times
I never got that from the show. Especially with the Indian admiral, she seems to be driven more by personal feelings towards Halsey and other characters rather than actually having a moral reason. And nobody else is depicted as being neither good or bad except maybe Halsey but Halsey has been depicted that way even before the show. This show is no where near what it should be and they have done things only for the sake of diversity ( the Keyes family🙄) but I wouldn’t go as far as to say they are depicting most of the whites as evil or any non- whites as good. It’s just poorly written with no regard for the source material.
No but maybe that's cause I'm not packing an extra chromosome
Removing Kwan entirely from the picture would save so much face from this show that it’s not even funny. 4 episodes in and I still don’t care about her character.
Literally every single character in her story arc is telling her too literally stop what she is doing yet she refuses to listen and we are forced to listen to it despite it having nothing to do with Johns story. The fact that season 2 was green lit means this is only gonna get even worse
Best part of digital distribution: you can skip ahead. If my dad didn't) hadn't decided to stop watching this already (the only reason I watched it), I would've skipped all Kwan scenes
Should have had the guy from Reacher (Alan Ritchson) play Master Chief. Keep the helmet on and dub the games VA over the top. Maybe a face reveal at the end of the season, if at all.
Yes
Still wouldn't have made this show worth watching. Still would be a garbage show because of the amount of stuff and their sjw message being pushed.
That very approach worked so well for the Wilson character in "Home Improvement"
halo :reach - the book , M. chief is out of his armor from time too time but no one ever knows it's him , but the last time he doesn't walk about with his armor off is after he fight's a few O.D.S.T's and does something bad ☠☠
@@Gaia_Gaistar actors want to be seen, not behind a helmet or a mask; i get it but cmon youre playing a blank slate silent protag, have some BALLS and play that character
@@nickm5419actors have to play the character given to them. If this was really chief he wouldn't take it off
Finally, I found my group therapy for how outrageously bewildering and terrible the HALO show is....help me....help me....4 episodes we haven't gotten a 2nd battle. What am I watching?!?
Same here, tell me, how you feel about episode 8?
@@cesarrangel3928 an embarrassment to all television. I can't remember watching an entire season of a show I hated so much, was so stupid, incoherent and insulted my intelligence. WTF was this shitshow ...I hear Guy Pearce's voice in my head yelling "I want, my life back!"
It’s pretty terrible
I would definitely have preferred to see the hunter fight in his armor rather than as a mass of worms. Again, it probably costs less to animate with cgi the latter rather than the former. Should also be noted that that was the only "pew pew" scene in 3 episodes other than the first minutes of ep 1.
You know a writer has bad writing. When the number one mystery of the franchise is revealed in the first fucking episode. Like come on, you least could have saved it for the season fanallie.
What mystery?
The season finale will be master chief falling in love with someone. You know because Master chief is a big softy. Right? Halo, the big stupid space soap opera.
@@justintime41776 Thought the season finale was Reach getting glassed. But hey with how bad the writing is for this show. Safe to say their is like a 80% chance you are right.
i will never stop hating on this show it is complete heresy and deserves to be glassed
I didn't know Halo was a religion.
Imagine Hollywod making a Mass Effect series and we learn that the reapers destroy all intelligent life every 50k years in episode 2.
Talking about Master Chef's luck might be a refence to the The Ringworld one of the first members recruited for the mission to the ringworld was for luck her name was (Teela Brown).
I knew its gonna be shit the moment the 1st trailer dropped and looked like ass but famboys thought its gonna be fire 🤦🏿♂️
Yup, and yet those who tried to warn people it was going to be bad and even explaining the red flags of why it will be got crapped on. Same with Infinite.
Have you rated it on rotten tomatoes? Apparently it's doing good. If you don't like it go rate it and send it review hell. Otherwise we're just allowing halo to get screwed by these wanabe fans.
It might be another Stargate if done properly. Or Farscape. Hope the it dull begins take up. So far too much run back and plot.
The asteroid city is in the books (Fall of Reach) but that is based around a mission before they were technically "Spartans". Like an intitiation mission, capturing a turncoat UNSC officer.
Man the Halo Reach footage took me back. Some of my best times were playing split screen with my friend Lou
