@PaulieMcCoy I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit leniant on a lot of media if they happen to maintain consistency in their world design/ setting as opposed to the main plot points that happen within said world. Starship troopers are a good example. the movie completely shits on the novels plot and serious tone about citizenship and political views of a libertarian military state. But as a movie in itself, it's really well made, and is quite funny with its over the top satirical takes on the modern military and parallels to nam era U.S. it manages to do it's own thing well even if it has some plot points that make no fucking sense. They at least keep the tone and world consistent.

The original games + New Vegas were very serious stories with comedic moments being very specific dialouge options or easter eggs (i.e Wild Wasteland)

I love the look on my friend's and coworkers' faces when they ask me what I think about the show. I have a Fallout keychain and lanyard, hell, even a shirt. They know I play through all the games on an annual basis. I tell them the show sucks, half of them are genuinely surprised and the other half do the whole "It's not THAT bad," then I bring up all of the retcons and plot holes and they just roll their eyes. Talking to one of my friends who never played a single game, even he thought the literal end of the world being profitable was immensely stupid. What the hell is the point of dominating a market, and maximizing shareholder value, when you’re gonna reset everything to zero and all the assets and cash they make will be worthless? A mansion isn’t any good with no power, a luxury car does nothing when there’s no roads, and most importantly, all existing infrastructure and natural resources being destroyed or poisoned. I overlooked a lot of the stupidity in this thing in order to just enjoy a new show. But this shit flat out isn’t canon.
By being the dominating and surviving company would in theory have carte blanch over the whole world. They would have a certified global monopoly that could never be toppled, and probably rule the world politically as well. Which isn't far removed from reality. the thing about starfield is that its fallout 4 in space but somehow worse with no worldmap. People who did not like starifled but think fallout 4 was good fail to understand everything they liked was lore from the old games. No one thinks fallout 4 has the best story characters or rpg elements, no one thinks it has the best guns, best gunplay sure but the guns suck. You will struggle to find a good quest in that radian quest mess. What people liked about fallout 4 was the remannts of hte old games, starfield has none of those so it sucks.

Most of those guys get paid by the companies, and their reviews are basically promotions since they're not going to bite the hand that feeds them. You know what really bothered me about the show that no one is talking about? the BoS does not use energy weapons, the knight guy have a gun that looks like its a laser weapon but no... it shoot bullets like any gun even though it doesnt look like it holds a magazine or even have a chamber to fire from. I can excuse Maximus being a sociopath because the wasteland does bring the worst in you, i can excuse him being dumb enough to impersonate the knight out of fear, but i cant excuse him leaving ALL his supplies behind. Also, why is the BoS headquarters made of wood in the desert with no vegetation for miles around? The water chip situation would get everyone in the vault terrified at the very least, what the hell was that hand wave dismissal. But i can see surface people thinking vault dwellers are descendants of rich people, after all the vault experiments are not common knowledge. And i can excuse Cooper surviving years burried since we see ivs hanging from the tombstone(?). The snip snip sequence was at very least funny because the two morons probably had guards before the sheriffs took a hold of the area, but the way lucy dont seem to have a grasp on how to wear the shoulder armor is ridiculous. Mr House seems to be playing dumb in the reunion and that would be on point though but why the hell is the enclave here still? After Fallout 3 they were all but destroyed makes no sense that after years the NCR or the BoS would not have either wiped of absorbed them. Why are people using caps when they are in NCR territory and even if the NCR collapsed people would probably still used it out of the ease instead of caps. Side note: we all know that the gulper scenes were 100% because the writers fetishes.
The Brotherhood's size was diminished due to fighting with the NCR. By the time we have New Vegas, the western chapter had been reduced to where we find them. In a bunker. And the NCR's size in that region was heavily diminished due to the nuke, and because of war with Ceasar's Legion. It's even mentioned in New Vegas that the NCR isn't what it used to be. In fact, I think the bar owner in Goodsprings says this at the very start of the game. Both factions were heavily reduced in the west.

Yea the first think i think of is budget as CGI is not cheap so energy weapons' would cost a lot to do when shooting but they could have had props of some BOS having them to show it but not fire them just props in background for cheap but no. As season 1 did well by looks of it so might get a bigger budget so better stuff next season and i see you point with the many plots that just disappear with no explaining not sure if next season will address so of them but doubt it. As the cleaning of vault 32 is what i really hate who did it as was done in like a day and was a big mess with many dead body's blood all sorts then bam like new in 1 day did vault 31 all come out of cryo to clean it up then go back in the pods and why did 32 all kill each other they did not even get in vault 31 by looks of it with many dead by the door but even if they suspect something why kill each other why not look into it like big nose guy did just makes no sense.

The irony of the ghoul immortality unless shot in the head is that it directly contradicts an entire quest chain in Fallout 3 called "Ya Gotta Shoot Them in the Head!" in which the ghoul quest giver resents their perception as zombies who can only be put down in the manner suggested by the quest name, inspiring him to convince the Lone Wanderer into killing a few marked 'Ghoul Bigots' by shooting them in the head. The need for serum makes the already absurd "Kid in a Fridge" quest come across as even more asinine as he would have gone feral waiting around in that refrigerator without a hit of serum for over 200 years.
There is no concrete factor for going feral in the games, its pretty much assumed by the players that its by chance. The show is the only one that states differently

Fallout is full of unreliable information, for all we know the serum doesn't do anything and the ghouls are being conned into drug addiction. Also we don't know that Thaddeus is a ghoul, regeneration was never a thing for ghouls, the ghoul's nose hasn't grown back. As you said, non-ghouls are generally under the impression that they are zombies you have to shoot in the head, meaning a Brotherhood of Steel member assuming immortality being linked to ghouls makes complete sense, although he could be incorrect. The more likely explanation is that Thaddeus is a super mutant

The wider positive reaction to the Fallout show is a testament to just how disposable attitudes toward media have become. It doesn't matter to them if it flagrantly spits on the lore. It doesn't matter to them if the script is filled with contrivances and illogical nonsense. All that matters to them is that it can hold their attention for 5 minutes. This show is junk food in the worst possible sense. In a week or two, most people will forget all about and it move on to the next thing. What's more, just give it a couple of months or so and you'll start seeing the "Amazon's Fallout wasn't as good you remember" type videos. This will be a repeat of the first Dinsey Star Wars film.

@PaulieMcCoy I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit leniant on a lot of media if they happen to maintain consistency in their world design/ setting as opposed to the main plot points that happen within said world. Starship troopers are a good example. the movie completely shits on the novels plot and serious tone about citizenship and political views of a libertarian military state. But as a movie in itself, it's really well made, and is quite funny with its over the top satirical takes on the modern military and parallels to nam era U.S. it manages to do it's own thing well even if it has some plot points that make no fucking sense. They at least keep the tone and world consistent.

The biggest lie that's being perpetuated by this show and it's fans is that Fallout is some sort of overtly satirical story were every piece of dialouge is some bizzare attempt at jokes.
The original games + New Vegas were very serious stories with comedic moments being very specific dialouge options or easter eggs (i.e Wild Wasteland)

I love the look on my friend's and coworkers' faces when they ask me what I think about the show. I have a Fallout keychain and lanyard, hell, even a shirt. They know I play through all the games on an annual basis.

the thing about starfield is that its fallout 4 in space but somehow worse with no worldmap. People who did not like starifled but think fallout 4 was good fail to understand everything they liked was lore from the old games. No one thinks fallout 4 has the best story characters or rpg elements, no one thinks it has the best guns, best gunplay sure but the guns suck. You will struggle to find a good quest in that radian quest mess. What people liked about fallout 4 was the remannts of hte old games, starfield has none of those so it sucks.

You know what really bothered me about the show that no one is talking about? the BoS does not use energy weapons, the knight guy have a gun that looks like its a laser weapon but no... it shoot bullets like any gun even though it doesnt look like it holds a magazine or even have a chamber to fire from. I can excuse Maximus being a sociopath because the wasteland does bring the worst in you, i can excuse him being dumb enough to impersonate the knight out of fear, but i cant excuse him leaving ALL his supplies behind. Also, why is the BoS headquarters made of wood in the desert with no vegetation for miles around? The water chip situation would get everyone in the vault terrified at the very least, what the hell was that hand wave dismissal.
But i can see surface people thinking vault dwellers are descendants of rich people, after all the vault experiments are not common knowledge. And i can excuse Cooper surviving years burried since we see ivs hanging from the tombstone(?). The snip snip sequence was at very least funny because the two morons probably had guards before the sheriffs took a hold of the area, but the way lucy dont seem to have a grasp on how to wear the shoulder armor is ridiculous. Mr House seems to be playing dumb in the reunion and that would be on point though but why the hell is the enclave here still? After Fallout 3 they were all but destroyed makes no sense that after years the NCR or the BoS would not have either wiped of absorbed them. Why are people using caps when they are in NCR territory and even if the NCR collapsed people would probably still used it out of the ease instead of caps.

In fact, I think the bar owner in Goodsprings says this at the very start of the game.

Yea the first think i think of is budget as CGI is not cheap so energy weapons' would cost a lot to do when shooting but they could have had props of some BOS having them to show it but not fire them just props in background for cheap but no. As season 1 did well by looks of it so might get a bigger budget so better stuff next season and i see you point with the many plots that just disappear with no explaining not sure if next season will address so of them but doubt it.

The irony of the ghoul immortality unless shot in the head is that it directly contradicts an entire quest chain in Fallout 3 called "Ya Gotta Shoot Them in the Head!" in which the ghoul quest giver resents their perception as zombies who can only be put down in the manner suggested by the quest name, inspiring him to convince the Lone Wanderer into killing a few marked 'Ghoul Bigots' by shooting them in the head.
The need for serum makes the already absurd "Kid in a Fridge" quest come across as even more asinine as he would have gone feral waiting around in that refrigerator without a hit of serum for over 200 years.
There is no concrete factor for going feral in the games, its pretty much assumed by the players that its by chance. The show is the only one that states differently

Fallout is full of unreliable information, for all we know the serum doesn't do anything and the ghouls are being conned into drug addiction. Also we don't know that Thaddeus is a ghoul, regeneration was never a thing for ghouls, the ghoul's nose hasn't grown back. As you said, non-ghouls are generally under the impression that they are zombies you have to shoot in the head, meaning a Brotherhood of Steel member assuming immortality being linked to ghouls makes complete sense, although he could be incorrect. The more likely explanation is that Thaddeus is a super mutant

The wider positive reaction to the Fallout show is a testament to just how disposable attitudes toward media have become. It doesn't matter to them if it flagrantly spits on the lore. It doesn't matter to them if the script is filled with contrivances and illogical nonsense. All that matters to them is that it can hold their attention for 5 minutes.
This show is junk food in the worst possible sense. In a week or two, most people will forget all about and it move on to the next thing. What's more, just give it a couple of months or so and you'll start seeing the "Amazon's Fallout wasn't as good you remember" type videos. This will be a repeat of the first Dinsey Star Wars film.

I’ve never seen the Witcher show, but it had huge hype, everyone was telling me it was so good, nowadays I see it’s getting an early ending, apparently lost the lead cast(?) because of how he didn’t like the creative differences and deviation from the source material. For Fallout, idiots act like it’s all okay and compatible with the lore (it isn’t) but a show with DEI stuff being primary concern; I guarantee you it will be like others.

there were some charmingly funny scenes tho. i thought the vault 4 filler thing was pretty good. some were abysmal lore wise and cgi as well tho. i can see that as a pretty huge turnoff to anyone who actually respects the original stories of fo1,2 and NV

@@skyz6708 The NCR being explained away via a "Fall" That isn't really elaborated on, in one shot they show securitrons and crashed NCR vertibirds outside the strip, I'm betting that all events that the courier influenced, and fought to bring into reality, were all for nothing, none of your options in new vegas may have mattered, I guess we'll have to wait until season 2 to see what EMIL and TODD WANT to happen with vegas and the courier, not what the fans want, and not what the NCR/courier's influence would have realistically come to, in the words of Emil Pagliarulo, lead writer, "I get dumb when I get excited, and I get excited a lot..."

You will notice that none of them provide a single counter-argument, all the "arguments"(if it could even be considered that) they provide are either ignorance, strawmans, or gaslighting.
