    Most satisfactory video John I'm blowing hot 🔥 n cold 🥶 here I spent months learning to program the awsome Futaba 9 zap when it originally came out some manufacturers create marvelous models functional around their own Tx's so the likes of Radiomaster max 16Tx are a superb choice to open up & remove the limitations that some manufacturers create for our hobby 😀 your input here can only be applauded keep up the good work
    Thank 😊 you.

    I’ve ordered the m1 and already looked into the omp protocol and there setup and quickly decided to run a satellite receiver but this is still good information for some thanks John

    Thanks John, another interesting point.... I am waiting delivery of my OMP M2 EXP. Yesterday I updated the Radiomaster for OMP protocol from your vid, now to learn logical switches, Yay keeps me out of mischief :-)

    Hi John,
    at ~13:30 you reset the timer. Since you use a lot of special functions for audio playback, I suggest using one for reseting the timer as well.
    Simply assign a special function to the toggle switch (SH by default or in your case SF) and choose "Set Timer 1" to the desired time.
    Makes live a lot easier with battery changes by just toggling the switch and are good to go again.

      @André Manicke - Good suggestion - thanks! I think that would also reset the timer every time you engage & disengage throttle hold for an autorotation - yes? I'll have to try it out tonight 👍

      @@Rchelicopterfun No reseting with throttle hold if two different switches are used. I have throttle hold on the two position switch, timer reset on the "two position" toggle.

    Hi John, Another great vid. Not got the heli or the radio BUT thats a excellent method. I do not have the brains for the open tx stuff! That is a very nice looking radio. Also i must commend the "shits about to get real" alert. Top stuff

    Hi Jhon
    Thanks for this tutorial
    I have a question
    if the gyro is in stable mode it is possible to do a looping or inverted flight?
    if this is not possible it would be easier to manage the gyro mode automatically with the flight modes that's one less switch to manage
    What do you think ?

    • @Rchelicopterfun
      @Rchelicopterfun  2 роки тому

      If you are flying with self/auto level stabilization mode active, you can't fly inverted (the heli won't pitch or roll into an inverted orientation). I cover this and stabilization mode toggle activation options in detail in my Stabilization Mode video: ua-cam.com/video/LouYitd7jak/v-deo.html

      Yes there is, but I don't know much about it. Check on multi-module.org website for supported protocols and scroll down to the V911 protocol and read the release notes if you want the specifics on it such as channel mapping order etc.

    • @lyclycsms

      I'm assuming you are using omp protocol with the logical switch as shown in this video. check your normal pitch curve, make it a 45 degree straight line.

  • @Quentin46660
    @Quentin46660 3 роки тому

    I have kind of a mistery now. Previously set up the throttle cut like that, but wanted to remove it, to avoid cutting motor in case of stick panic in flight lol. But without the logical functions it still doesn't start with throttle at 0 and motor armed. Checked everything to put back like it was before, but still. A real mistery, will need to create another model from scratch perhaps

      As with all computerized radio programming mysteries; the 1st place to always start is the channel output monitor screen. That will tell you exactly what the heli is seeing so you can correctly diagnose the issue.

    • @Quentin46660
      @Quentin46660 3 роки тому

      @@Rchelicopterfun I think they changed the way it work on last multimodule update. Cause yes I thought about the monitor but nothing strange there. It just start at like 2 or 3% throttle in normal mode

    Wait, am I understanding this, the M2 will NOT have 0 rmp at stick down once it has started in normal flight mode? What in the world is the benefit to that? EDIT: also thank you for the video John!

    • @Rchelicopterfun
      @Rchelicopterfun  4 роки тому +1

      As I stated in the video, this is only when using the internal OMP RX due to the way they have it configured. With external RX's - it works like any other ESC as I show in the M2 V1 & M2 EXP reviews I did. Regardless, for many fliers it's not an issue as they are used to using throttle hold exclusively to power on & off so they have consistent power and head speed throughout the collective range no matter which flight mode they are in. That's the benefit.

    • @yeetcannon1693
      @yeetcannon1693 4 роки тому

      @@Rchelicopterfun Thank you for the reply. I'll defiantly be setting this up at some point then. That just doesn't seem beneficial to me in a normal flight mode. I just updated my tx16s for OMP but haven't messed with it (excellent video on that by the way). Was running the Futaba mini receiver. Thank you once again for your diligence in helping out.

  • @lyclycsms
    @lyclycsms 3 роки тому

    so I bought TX16s Max recently and also OMPhobby M2. At first when I'm setting a normal flight mode - pitch curve as below:
    throttle stick min = 0 degree pitch
    throttle mid stick = 0 degree pitch
    throttle max = 12 degree.
    once throttle hold is deactivated, heli starts to spool up regardless of throttle stick position.
    and then I realize the heli's pitch curve doesn't follow my setting.
    so I change the normal flight - pitch curve as below:
    throttle stick vs pitch is a 45 degree straight line (ie a typical idle 1 or idle 2 curve)
    and voila, at lowest throttle stick, with throttle hold deactivated, the heli doesn't spool up until you throttle up in normal mode. (function as normal heli's normal mode)
    conclusion: no need to set logical switch.
