15:37 Although old Spektrum radios cannot do this, newer models like NX series can. Go to Mixing, choose Mix1, choose Curve, choose AIL > AIL (or ELE > ELE), move the stick very slightly away from the center, choose Add Pt. then create a curve. For AIL > AIL, the curve values should look like this: 1=0%, 2= -10%, 3=0%, 4=10%, 5=0%. You are essentially adding an offset curve to the default straight line.
I’m not new to Helicopter and even that I’ve watched this very informative video that you and Jonas had put out, and can’t thank you guys enough so very very much. I am now in a process of applying the setup to my M1 and can’t wait to have fun with it. Jonas’s setup as far as switches assignments are pretty darn on close how I setup mine. Super video that would have helped me a lot sooner , I nearly ended with the same settings ! No one could explain me the OMP FBL before... But I found that i have to reduce the inputs on the radiomaster TX16 to 80% to get the full throw of the servos without binding on the workbench ! The same goes with the agility where I need to reduce to 3 or 2 ... I think one can see this also in Your esc diagram.
Yea, I can attest to that line when Jonas says, "It's just like a rocket." Because I accidentally bumped the collective, and the heli straight up to my ceiling in a split second. Scared the crap out of me and luckily nothing broke.
It is possible to bypass deadzone with spektrum. 3 Mixer with Roll/Roll, Rudd/Rudd, Nick/Nick -> add points at -6/+6 with -8%/+8% (less or more as you like) and endpoints of the curve should be zero. This should decreases deadzone. You could refine the curves by adding 2 more points per curve.
I've tried to change radios I always go back to my spectrum ,,just flew on it to long to change my gimbal,plus I can go into servo set up and change things to my likeing ,,just like you can do in any Open tx and if that's not enough I can play around in mixing end points on my dx6 ,I have tried both on set up ....101 ways to skin the cat
Such a great video especial for heli-newbies like me. Just one question: do you level the swash in normal or stability mode? I leveled mine in „normal mode“ which works great, but when I switch to „stability mode“ the swash moves and the m1 goes forward/left.
I have a model setup for my M1 and M2 that follows John Salt’s settings only because I am still new. I can’t seem to figure out how to set up the safety switch for throttle cut, or hold. I am using OMP protocol and throttle cut is on SG channel 5 and a logical switch for timer reset on SA. I would love to combine it to SA down which resets the timer to also ensure my helicopter doesn’t spool up if SG was not in the cut position.
I just bought a Spektrum NX8, Not used yet. But opened it up. I wish i watched this video before. I would have bought a Radio master. I use Spektrum for airplanes and works good. I have two helicopters from blade. I'm not good at setting up the transmitter for a helicopter. With the NX8 i could just transfer a set up right to my radio.I just have a question. I want to buy the OMP M1. So spektrum can't do any of the multiple pitch curve and switch assignments etc. Or i just can't have the save me switch?? Also can i transfer Jonas file for that heli into my nx8?? Great Video!! Just sub couple months ago when checking out omp. This is exactly the video i have been looking for. This is an awesome video with a lot of good help , it would have saved me quite some time of asking and testing befor I got nearly the same results ! But I found out that the control inputs of the Radiomaster TX 16 need to be reduced to 80 % to get full servo travel without binding . The ESC too , as also can be seen in Your diagram ... Does it matter that the servo limits are reached at 70-80% when testing on the bench?
Is there a link to one you guys made for first timers? Such as beginner setup with AccuRC for training. Or?? Honestly at this point in my heli journey I find the whole "3D thing" a little less appealing than fingernails on a chalkboard :)
Measuring the pitch angle with a ruler/caliper is tricky given how the blades are separate from each other about an inch, allowing for a lot of parallax.

That's correct. The only thing I would mention is the flight controller settings might not work as well since they are set for the smaller m1. But otherwise it will work fine

I did buy AccuRC yesterday and I do plan on downloading Jonas’s settings. I have flown Blade MSRX and was able to do a decent hover, but it has been a while. Is there a model of Jonas’s set up for the M2?
I have had a fixed pitched micro for a little while and would now like to get a Collective pitch model. I am not going to mess with cheaper or bigger models,the M1 will suit the size area i have. Would this setup be good for the "first time" collective flyer?
Hi Jonas, I simply copied my M1 settings to my M2..well they are based on your settings and I really like it. However, on my M2 noticed that when I flip my flight mode switch from normal mode to Idle up 1 or 2 the status LED on my flight controller stays on solid blue and red. Does it mean that its still on stabilization mode if so how do I get it to flash and be out of stabilization mode? I have not change anything on my radio settings. Thank you so much for all your help.
Nice, I notice a big difference in flight feel after changing the flight controller and adding the dead band compensation. Should dead band curve be applied to just aileron and elevator? This wasn't mentioned in the video thanks!

Yes i think it could work, but then the Sticks are not linear. I try this out the next Days. And, i have prog. the Rescue Switch with the setting to give positive Pitch on the DX9, the only thing if i have no idea how can i do this with a Time delay?

Wenn du das hast sollte egal wo dein Knüppel steht am Heli immer 0 Grad Pitch sein und nicht verändern. Hast du das geschafft, schiebst du die Kurve mit z.B. einem Ofset von plus 5°. Nun liegen dauerhaft 5° Pitch an egal wo sich der Knüppel gerade befindet. Du musst nur aufpassen, das Umschalten und somit Pitch geben geht schneller als das Umdrehen des Helis. Wenn du gerade im Rückenflug bist, macht er erst einen Durchsacker um 1m bis er umdreht.

I have the M1 SFHSS and want to fly with Radiomaster TX16S.Is there a video how to set this one up with OMP protocol or can I use SFHSS protocol from Radiomaster.
Does the dead band also exist when actually using the OMP protocol? I'm using the M1 with the OMP protocol on the TX16S specifically, because of the telemetry. That gives me that extra level of piece of mind regarding my batteries in addition to the timer. But yea, I can't feel the dead band - may be because of me being a beginner, still.

I don't think it will work on K110. I noticed that when K110 flies in 3D mode (i.e. I5(gyro) set to +100) in inverted position and 6G switch is activated (i.e. I5(gyro) set to -100), K110 does not flip. It stabilizes, but continues to fly in inverted position. So I believe it won't flip back to normal position as shown on the video. But if you make it work, please let me know !

I was wondering if the deadband curve needs to be put on the Elevator input also? The DBD curve was show on the Aileron input only.

How close is the AccuRC FC compared to the physical OMP M1 FC?

I've checked model list on accurc's website and I only see OMP M2 but no M1

Dear Buddy RC and Jonas, you should try Align T15, in my opinion the FC of T15 more smooth on all movement during fly.

Can you talk about using the M1 or M2 for long range FPV? It is often said that helicopter has longer endurance due to the lower disk loading.

@@Graham_Shaw I just put it on ail and elevator. Rudder is quite fast at speed of 7 so I don't feel it needs it.

I don't see why it wouldn't work, you might need to reverse the channel.
