Holiday Hairstyle: Fishtail Bubble Pigtails | Q's Hairdos

I loved this style on Quincy. I mean pigtails are always adorable, but the fishtails added such a cute flair to them. If you haven't tried a fishtail braid, don't get nervous, they really aren't difficult. Only two strands to deal with and you just take a section from one to add to the other side. Easy as cake. But, if you don't want to learn to do a fishtail braid, or if you don't have enough time to do this style, I will show you how to do faux fishtails instead.This style really isn't hard, it is just a bit more time consuming, it took me 20 minutes. So be sure to have books and toys handy for your little girl!

We started with wet hair and used SoCozy Mousse to tame flyaways. (I will link the product below)
Start with a center part all the way down the back.
A tip is to place your finger at the nape and take your comb from the crown down to your finger.
Use a clip to keep one side out of the way.
We started on the right side and split the hair into 4 sections, securing each with an elastic.
Do the same on the other side. (I'm going to speed up right here for sake of time)
Now that you have all 8 ponytails secured we will add the fishtails.
Use more mousse if needed
Split the first pony in half
Take a small section from the side or back of the left strand and cross over top and add it into the right strand.
Now take a small section from the right strand and add it into the left side.
Always crossing over the top when you add in a new strand.
Take another small section from the left strand and add into the right side.
Take a small section from the right and add to the left.
Repeat this all the way down the strand until you reach where the next ponytail is sitting, or even a little bit further.
Now I like to pancake the braid until I have reached my desired look.
Secure the braid to the next ponytail.
Here is where you will repeat and add another fishtail braid.
Or, if you need the style to take less time, you can add a faux fishtail by adding an elastic about 2-3 inches down the strand.
Split the hair in half between the two elastics and push the ponytail through the middle.
Pancake the faux braid and then secure it with an elastic to the next ponytail.
Back to fishtail braiding.
We will do three mini fishtail braids on either side.
Once the pigtails are dry I like to curl them and add bows for a cute festive look!
