The first two styles in this series took us about 5 minutes each and use rope braids. If you need help with rope braids- try this tutorial: • How to Rope Braid | Th...
The third tutorial uses dutch braids and took us about 8 minutes. Here is another tutorial on how to dutch braid: • Dutch Braid and How to...
I love adding these styles into ponytails, messy buns, and pigtails. Add those on to complete the hairstyle in about 10 minutes.
    Style #1
Start with the hair in the crown parted off.
Dampen with water and spray gel (linked below.)
We will split the hair into three equal sections parallel to the part line.
Secure the rest of the hair with a clip in the back.
Starting on Quincy's right hand side.
Take a one inch piece of hair in the front of the first section.
    Split in half.
Cross the right strand over the left strand.
Add hair to the right strand and cross again.
Continue adding hair to the right strand and crossing over the top until you reach the back of that section.
When you have reached the end you will twist each of the two pieces of hair to the right and cross them left.
Continue about 5 more times then clip out of the way.
Repeat with the next two sections.
Take a one inch piece of hair in the front of the section.
    Split in half.
Cross the right strand over the left strand.
Add hair to the right strand and cross again.
Continue adding hair to the right strand and crossing over the top until you reach the back of that section.
When you have reached the end you will twist each of the two pieces of hair to the right and cross them left.
    Continue about 8 more times.
Add one more rope braid to the remaining section in the crown.
When all three rope braids are done, secure them together with an elastic.
Style #2 -This style was inspired by a photo I saw on Pinterest, not sure where it originated from. If you know, tell me so I can give credit!
    Start in the crown section.
Part off a one and a half inch section parallel to the part line.
    Clip out of the way.
Secure the rest of the crown section with an elastic.
Split the first one inch section into three separate sections.
Clip the back two out of the way.
Take the first section and split in half.
Twist the two halves to the right and cross to the left.
Twist to the right, cross to the left.
Continue until you reach the ponytail and clip it to the ponytail.
Add a rope braid to the other two sections and then secure them all to the ponytail with an elastic.
Take the Topsy Tail Tool (linked below)
Put the pointed end through the ponytail.
Put the ponytail through the loop.
    Pull downwards.
    Style #3
For this style I parted Quincy's hair on the opposite side then I normally do.
Section off a deep part on the right side and all the way to about an inch above the ear on the left side.
Clip the rest of the hair out of the way.
Split the hair into two sections perpendicular to the part line.
Clip the back section out of the way.
Start a dutch braid by taking a one inch section and split into three.
Cross the left side strand underneath the middle strand.
Cross the right side strand underneath the middle strand.
Now add a small section of hair to the left strand and cross under the middle.
Add a small section to the right strand and cross under the middle.
Repeat by adding a section to the left and crossing under the middle.
Add a section to the right and cross under the middle.
Continue braiding until you can not add anymore hair.
Now continue to three strand braid while slowly walking around the back of the head.
Braid the hair a few inches past the spot where the braid begins.
Clip it out of the way.
    Repeat with the back section.
    Add a dutch braid.
Remember when you can not add anymore hair, continue to braid while slowly walking around the back of the head.
Clip these braids out of the way.
Now I will take the section about an inch above the ear on Quincy's right side and secure it in an elastic.
Secure the braids to this small ponytail with another elastic.

Just wondering if the elastics are like rubber bands or no?

The ones I use are more like plastic than rubber (they are linked in the description under this video)
