John Lewis used to offer a great service however in recent years their work has become increasingly shabby. Lots of disenchanted staff partners in the stores offering no customer service reason to visit. Recently instore to purchase and found the LEGO stock in poor condition so left empty handed. Hoping that their new Chairman who started this month can correct the mess left behind by the outgoing incumbent. Some lovely sets in this haul but really not impressed by some of the box condition. Wishing Iain record sales at Leicester. Thank you.

I do sometimes go into John Lewis in Southampton to check out their Lego, but the selection there is never that great unfortunately.

Do you sell on Amazon or ebay? Because with damage I’m afraid of selling on Amazon bcz customer wouldn’t know it has damage and then might return.
No. I don't sell on Amazon or Ebay. Only at Lego fairs and festivals
@@iainsbricks ooo first time I hear about that. How does that work then? Do you sell cheaper than ebay/Amazon sold prices since there’s no selling fees? Do you not get abuse by people calling you scalper etc for selling above rrp?😅 I have got this two times in lego investing sub on reddit when it isn’t even scalping lol. I guess lego fans who don’t understand basic economics go mad when they see lego over RRP price and think it’s scalping
@@arnoldmason4628 I generally sell for prices similar to Ebay sold prices. Tables at yese events do cost so you have to factor that in. No, never really had anyone call me a scalper as I keep my prices reasonable

No, not really. I just check sold ebay prices before I go to a show.

Yes, I think their staff discount is pretty good. Unfortunately I don't know anyone that works there.

I ordered two mos Isley, one was ok but second was really damaged 🙄 the boxes were so thin. The box was half opened when it arrived.
Oh no! Did you send it back or get a refund? John Lewis really do need to improve their box quality.
@@iainsbricks thought about it but they are sold out so would have to get a refund. I think I’ll hold on to it and hope to still sell for a good mark up in the future. Annoying as previous lego from John Lewis arrived in good boxes however these mos Isley boxes were so thin it’s no wonder they came slightly crushed

I had one damaged too. Call them up and ask for a partial refund due to the condition not being as advertised. I got 30 quid back @miniade1

Amazing haul again Ian. I'd love to buy some of the Cantina but can't afford to buy ones that big. Not in my strategy. I've got 7 of the dumbledore's though. And i got cheaper than you so happy about them. I think the boat from b&m is exclusive and only reduced it when they had 20% off all toys. Great video as usual. I missed out on some of the Harry Potter deals at the start of the month as I was busy buying other sets at the time. Agree on the Cantina though - great set but larger sets do tie up your funds for longer.
@@iainsbricks I worry about when you sell people scamming you. You don't have that problem they are in front of you. Another bonus of doing brick events. You buy some great sets at amazing prices just way too expensive for me. Keep the videos coming. Take care Ian.
