Great stream Simon .Thanks . Out of my reach but still a very nice bike. Doesnt look big for a 900 . Looking forwards to your next trip brother . Take care 👍👍👍
Many thanks. It’s surprising easy going for a 895cc bike I thought it might be to heavy but it’s not at all, but saying that I’ve not tried picking it up yet. Great bike to ride. 👍
Great revue Simon....oh by the way I guessed the answer correctly on the bile you liked best on your last adventure....not difficult though!
You are correct. Thanks for the comments buddy 👍
I tried this biike toaday. It was fenomenal.
That’s good to know it’s still on my bucket list
You earned my subscription after that Southern India Trifecta Review. Awesome work.
Thoughts on this vs the new Tiger 900??
Thanks Andrew, interesting question,
I’ve rode the 2023 Triumph tiger GT but I would need to ride the new 2024 rally to do a good comparison. I did enjoy riding the GT Triumph so it would be a close call. Il see if I put something together soon on that one ☝️ 👍
Great review, everyone is different of course, I rode this and that 800 last week and as I ride the majority of time on the road I actually preferred the 800 but liked both.
Thanks for the comment, it’s great to hear people personal experience. My intention is to ride all BMWs adventure bikes and other brands to compare to. It’s great that there’s suck a good choice, the hardest thing is choosing. 👍
Nice video, nice bike. I will buy one:)
Its a great bike certainly for the lanes and trails
Good Review Simon 👍
Thanks buddy, what a great bike. 👍
Yes absolutely. Must felt faster to you after riding 400 cc's for thousands of kms in India.
@@theunorthodoxtatya yes for sure, luckily plenty of electronics to save me this time 🏍️💨💨💨
Great review Simon. It’s quite a bit cooler than India right now.
Thanks Alex. Bloody freezing here
I have the V4S, too. My wife owns the Multi V2 and you should check this one, too. It is a really great midweight bike!
I’ve owned a 950s multi and very similar to the V2 but after owning 6 Ducatis in a row I fancy a change or though I’ve never been disappointed with any of my Ducatis. It’s great that you’ve both got a nice set of bikes. 👍
Looks a nice bike Simon, but that one is probably a big tall for me.
Hi Dave, you’ll be surprised how low the seat options can go. Low seat 835mm and OE seat height 815mm
I do like the new 900GS 🏍️
It’s a great bike.. top of my list so far 👍🏍️💨👍💨
Im in the same situation. Which one whould u choose for riding two up, but for fun around a block too. Africa Twin, F900GS or F900GSA? Thank u
I would definitely consider the 900GSA for twos but the 900GS wasn’t a issue for us unless you were planning on some big miles.
Great vid...900GS or Desert X ?
900GS is the winner for me personally at this moment in time
For me that whole exhaust system would need to go. Not keen on any Beemer systems though.
I kinda like it, for me i don’t mind the quieter exhausts now, especially when riding down the trails it stops me annoying the dog walkers and the horsey people.
Are you considering going back to the Tiger 900 ..... The 2024 Rally Pro version this time?
I’m definitely looking at riding the new tiger 900 rally for comparison.
Like many of us I watched your latest India-Adventure (only 6-7 times) on the RE, the Triumph and the KTM and the time so save some money for either the RE or the 400 X has started right after episode 1 but ... how do you think the BMW would perform on those Indian roads? I loved the idea of the lighter bikes and can only imagine how hard that trip must be on a +200 kg bike.
Interesting question and thanks for watching. I used to own a Ducati streetfighter V4s 208bhp and I decided to do a take it on a track day one day and some kid on a 250cc track bike undertook me on a corner and I felt like I was totally incapable on the track, but many track days later I got better and got more comfortable, and I feel it’s the same. With theses bigger adventure bikes, the electronics will help you along the way as you build more confidence on the bike, so I do feel I could ride this particular bike on the India roads. My only concern would be if I can afford to drop the bike, because I will come off it at some point. In a ideal world I would have a few different bikes for different purposes. So this summer I might just surprise you and myself with bike choices. 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
@@thatbikersimon Thanks Simon, we all know that kid ... little asshole with no care in the world. Of course that little bugger is faster. 🙂I still think, these "middleclass" bikes are too heavy with too much of tech ... but that is just me beeing old and grumpy. Sure that BMW is a great ride (am I allowed to write this on YT?). Yes, you´re right, the cost of an unavoidable drop are too high with those bikes. I´m sure the RE 450 or the 400 X are the right bikes for me but who knows, a test drive on the BMW will perhaps change my mind again. Oh, we really don't need much to be happy ... just a big garage with 3-12 motorcycles.
How would you compare it to the Yamaha Tenere 700?
I’ve only ever had a short ride on the tenere and really liked it, it’s a proven bike for sure, maybe it’s time for another ride soon 👍
How do you find it carries its weight compared to say a t7.
I’ve only ever rode the T7 on a demo ride but I do plan on riding one very soon so I’ll definitely bring it to the channel when I can, I’m intrigued myself to see the difference 👍
@@thatbikersimon 👍
Tell me - how was the engine vibes above 3000rpm? My F800GT is horrible above 3000.
Absolutely nothing I never pushed it to the top end because of the tyres and weather but no vibration that was enjoying.
Nice choice Simon I watched ARiemann1 on YT he puts it through it's paces.
Awesome capabilities enjoy
I will check it out. It’s got some agility I’m sure. It had the wrong tyres for my liking but I may go and give it another go if I get the change.
I couldn't imagine swapping my Multistrada for that 😢
If you would of asked me that 12 months ago I would of said the same. I wish I could afford to have both but I won’t ride it. The multistrada is a absolute amazing bike but it’s not the sort of rinding I want to do now. I’ve decided to keep it another 6 months to get some use out off it.
Why don't you consider Himalayan 450
There’s a big wait in the uk for orders in the uk, but keep tuned 🤫
@@thatbikersimon sure
The only thing with this engine is thentop end sounds like a bag of spanners being kicked down a the stairs. You get used to it though.
The 1200/1250s always sound thrashy at higher revs.
I didnt think Iir sounded like that but I didn’t use the top end power much.
great intro, the review was fun but cant help but think all car drivers drive like slugs haha, has riding in india changed anything in the way you approach the roads in the UK?
Mate I’ve got to stop undertaking cars on the roads, I’ve got so many bad habits now after the India ride. If you press the horn in the uk I’m likely to start a fight lol
@@thatbikersimon But you've got to agree its much more fun just owning the road since you're on a bike :D
From the title I knew it was gonna be a beemer fan boy saying that BM did another best of the world bike.....an adventure one with 14L reservoir....
The adventure bike has a 23L tank this one is more of a enduro bike
Sound like more of a salesman than a reviewer...
I’m not commission 😂
