Ben said that this is it. That there will never be another Postal Service tour. I hope that’s not true. 3 years from now is the 20th anniversary. Make it happen Ben. I missed this one.
I don't know why they just don't regroup, nothing that ben gibbard, jimmy tamborello or jenny lewis had done separately comes even close to this masterpiece.
It’s just utterly insane that such an amazing side project like this could make such an impact, 20 years later!!!! I would travel anywhere in the world to watch the postal service 😢
They’ve just announced it bro the 20th anniversary of both Give Up & Transatlanticism’s tour next year. I hope they’re gonna expand the tour to Europe.
This man has the most distinctive and ingenious vocal tonality, I dare say, of any singer songwriter that has yet existed. A true verbal Einstein. I am thankful to have been exposed to such phenomenal work.
I can't get over the fact that I didn't get to see this show live. I had no idea that they were even planning this tour...And it will probably never happen again. This band/album is one of the best I've ever heard and completely represents my high school years. The fact that I missed out in this tour will probably haunt me for the rest of my life... No exaggeration. :(
You can still get the whole experience, they released a dvd on their website documenting the tour and it includes a show filmed over 2 nights. It was awesome and I am sad for any fan that didn't get to be a part of it, so this dvd should fill that void. :)
Same. Living in New England it breaks my heart I didn’t go…. This album came out right after high school for me. It was the soundtrack to that weird transitional period to adulthood. It resonates in my soul, still.
ITS HAPPENING!! I’ve waited a decade for this feeling so much regret that I couldn’t experience it and now it’s happening again!! And even better with Death Cab/Transatlanticism!! Dreams do come true!!
I love that Jenny Lewis is the absolutely adorable little redhead in the Toy's R Us commercial singing "I don't want to grow up, I'm a Toy's R us kid." I wish we all could be a kid forever.
I went to the Brooklyn show on their first tour not knowing Jenny Lewis would be performing with them. I think there were maybe 60 people there. It was an amazing show.
In my opinion Brand New Colony is the most romantic, heartfelt song I’ve ever heard. It paints such a beautiful picture. Thank you Ben, Jenny and Jimmy for this masterpiece. 🖤
i love the postal service, this album was basically the soundtrack to my last years of high school, but god i really wish ben and jenny would take a dance class.
the soundtrack to TV advertising. pretty sure every single one of their songs have been used in a commercial at some point. it makes this music twice as legendary imo. i bet they never thought their little side project would ever turn into what it did, even many many years later like ben said
so awesome! Just saw them in Vancouver and I was standing in the same spot, so I'm totally reliving the entire concert!! am taking in the amazing experience again :) Thank you sooo much!!!
Their Kansas City performance on July 30 was amazing as well. During the lyrics of Natural Anthem, Ben left the stage and came to the front rows of the crowd. I was maybe 15ft away and got some good footage. :)
This was so awesome! I'm so grateful that someone posted this video. I love this band, and probably won't ever get a chance to see them all together like this. Now it's kinda like I have. Sweet.
I love Ben Gibbard! It's great to see him having so much fun after what happened in fall '12. Can't wait for new Postal and DCfC albums!!!! Now don't wake me, I plan on sleeping in.
I question the definition of "Cover" on The Dream of Evan and Chan... But you know... Thanks for uploading. I saw them in Portland, and Seattle, and wanted to see it again.
This was intentional cause in the song the end of each set of lyrics and beginning of the next actually overlap each another. The only way to do this on stage is to play a recording of the first word or two of the overlapping lyrics. If you watch their performance on the Colbert Report, it shows the same thing only more noticeable. I agree it probably looks like a mistake though.
Somehow Nothing Better kept popping up on what last.fm considered the "Garden of Allah" station, not at all sure how that happened. I'd never heard The Postal Service before and I'm embarrassed to say I convinced myself that I hated it, despite the evocative lyrics and emotional score. I was a pretentious little twerp back then and just couldn't stand finding joy in music. Coming to realize I love this band despite them being nothing like what I thought was 'cool' has actually helped me understand the things I really love in a song and because of that, helped me enjoy music far more than I ever did as a teenager.
Thank you momma for having the album burned when you were a teen, for me to find these guys as a kid and think about you and my dad means very much to me
Dntel is Jimmy's solo project from before The Postal Service. Each song on Dumb Luck featured a different artist on vocals. The song in question featured Benjamin Gibbard, I'm assuming they clicked and felt a musical chemistry between them thus the postal service was born.
if this album came out today, it would blow up.. way ahead of its time
lose3111 Considering the songs get overplayed played constantly at thr mall, commercials and on the radio to this day I would say i did blow up.
djgiga I’m at the mall and I never hear this shit
im going to the mall instead of buying album..pray for me
I remember when it came out...barely made an impact outside of the underground scene...then a few years later it DID blow up and got insanely popular.
aphex twin
The amount of money I would pay to see them live. 13 years later, still speaks to my soul like no other album ever has
They are magical live. This boston show doesn't do them justice with the venue's awful sound system.
I want to see them as well.
I agree with this, 4 years later. The best music of my time. I never got to see him with Jenny
Nothing but facts here
Agreed, the nostalgia that album has for me is unparalleled. Nothing before or since hits the same
Ben said that this is it. That there will never be another Postal Service tour. I hope that’s not true. 3 years from now is the 20th anniversary. Make it happen Ben. I missed this one.
yes, make it happen pls :'-(

well somethings happened...
@@honestlynuts__ What happened?
ITS HAPPENING!!!
Jenny Lewis seriously made this such a blast to watch.
It’s just utterly insane that such an amazing side project like this could make such an impact, 20 years later!!!! I would travel anywhere in the world to watch the postal service 😢

As a kid I never thought I would ever see concerts like this on the internet and it is amazing. Thanks for the upload.

Really?? Omg! You might have just made my whole life! I'll def check that out! Thank you!
I know me too :(((

8:05 Jenny Lewis’s dance is amazing
She’s so adorable
I love that Jenny Lewis is the absolutely adorable little redhead in the Toy's R Us commercial singing "I don't want to grow up, I'm a Toy's R us kid." I wish we all could be a kid forever.
Soundtrack of my youth. Thank you for keeping me alive and above ground. ❤️✌🏼🖖🏼🙏🏼
I went to the Dallas concert. Still gives me goosebumps that I even went! Such a surreal experience for me.
I saw this show on this tour. One of the greatest shows I've ever seen. What I saw totally blew me away.
One of the best performances I've seen. The Postal Service should really come back for the 20th anniversary :(
Dreams do come true bro 🤩
Can't even count how many times I got goosebumps watching this!
I'm tearing up, I'm only on the 2nd song 😢! We're seeing them tomorrow. Bringing a box of tissues for my issues.
I went to the Brooklyn show on their first tour not knowing Jenny Lewis would be performing with them. I think there were maybe 60 people there. It was an amazing show.
Good lord- incredible quality... I was hoping someone did this so I could relive this evening over and over.
You? You're awesome. :D
In my opinion Brand New Colony is the most romantic, heartfelt song I’ve ever heard. It paints such a beautiful picture. Thank you Ben, Jenny and Jimmy for this masterpiece. 🖤
Agree
i love the postal service, this album was basically the soundtrack to my last years of high school, but god i really wish ben and jenny would take a dance class.
I think it adds to it lol wouldn’t have it any other way
Dance like nobody’s watching!
The look on Jenny's face when she realized the crowd was properly clapping in time to the "everything will change" was priceless, haha.
Thank you so much for recording this
This was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I am so happy that you got the full set on video. Thank you!
thank you SO much for uploading this!!!!
i remember picking up this album the day it came out. cant believe its been so long.
Wow, this gave me chills! thank you so much for the upload. I am so happy that Jenny lewis is there!!!!
Jacob Birnstiehl thanks a lot for the comment!! It was a surreal concert; glad I have the footage to remember it by because it felt like a dream!
It wouldn't have worked without her there.
Such an incredible night!! Glad you enjoyed
Thanks for posting. I only just found out about the postal service last year, and I love their music.
+PxlFlame welcome to the party... youre late as hell.
+betosanchito better late then never
betosanchito Her child would be like 16.
the soundtrack to TV advertising. pretty sure every single one of their songs have been used in a commercial at some point.
it makes this music twice as legendary imo. i bet they never thought their little side project would ever turn into what it did, even many many years later like ben said
Ben Gibbard great composer!!
That ending... so beautiful. Great crowd!

Thank you man for the recording ! Love it.
Thank you so much for uploading this. Watching this, was pan amount to witnessing magic firsthand. TPS
thank you so much for this. I luckily got to see them last year but it was nice to be able to relive the experience.
Ben played drums on a few tracks, and Jenny played drums on a track, as well.
Awesome spot and nice job recording!
so awesome! Just saw them in Vancouver and I was standing in the same spot, so I'm totally reliving the entire concert!! am taking in the amazing experience again :) Thank you sooo much!!!
Back here after the announcement of the live album. Seriously cannot wait to get a proper mixed version of Evan and Chan!
i am so glad i found this today. what a hidden gem it is. thanks john xo
Saw them last night in San Diego. They were amazing, I didn't want it to end.......
they really did themselves justice with this
Que lindo! Obrigada por subir! ♡
"Everything will change" ...they had no idea how much.
Just saw them in KC on July 31st. One of the best shows I've been to. Thanks for posting!
theres never enuff time was fucking amazing live. i wish i could see that song live
Their Kansas City performance on July 30 was amazing as well. During the lyrics of Natural Anthem, Ben left the stage and came to the front rows of the crowd. I was maybe 15ft away and got some good footage. :)
such a great band!!
Amazing. Saw them at the Greek in Berkeley and they blew me away!
Awesome! Just saw them last night at the Greek Theater in Berkeley and there was a whole film crew recording it. Hoping is will be a DVD!
37:40 Jenny Lewis to the cameraman: "You really focus on me a lot; are you going to put this on UA-cam?"
This was so awesome! I'm so grateful that someone posted this video. I love this band, and probably won't ever get a chance to see them all together like this. Now it's kinda like I have. Sweet.
Thank you for that ! Had an amazing time seeing them in Paris.
I love watching Jenny
I love Ben Gibbard! It's great to see him having so much fun after what happened in fall '12. Can't wait for new Postal and DCfC albums!!!!
Now don't wake me, I plan on sleeping in.
Wilbur Salazar sadly.
Vsirin Yes and no : they keep one single masterpiece and avoid any risk of messing up a following. I keep telling that to myself it's a consolation ;)
@@Nicorcs88 same bruv
if you like The XX, you can thank The postal service.
Her smile at 0:58 says it all
43:00 Ben casually rocks the drums and sings
Aric Goss yeah, and Jenny does like four things at once., including playing drums, keys, bass, guitar, harmonica, singing etc. 🥳
Just Amazing made my morning :_)
I'll miss you Paul.
I was there Friday!!! It was amazing :3
Amazing! I just love bens energy
Still thoroughly enjoying as of 9-21-2018 !!!
Best album 4 lyfe
I question the definition of "Cover" on The Dream of Evan and Chan... But you know...
Thanks for uploading. I saw them in Portland, and Seattle, and wanted to see it again.
Thanks you
goosebumps.. this group was my jam in high school 8 years ago. the sex, drugs, and memories. how life goes by. :)
Wow such good vibes
Great Music!!
Just saw them in LA. Amazing show
I was also at the Greek Theater on Saturday night!
This makes me sleep 🌙
Why is he dancing like Ian Curtis.
Curtis was one of many to come and many before him
It's hard to see Jenny over that huge platform.
I WOULDA SANG MY ASS OFF
I traveled from New York to go see postal service ;3

They should have played Angel Pumping Gas. 99% of people there would have gone nuts for it
Ben's dancing is hillarious!
Now I'm watching this because it will never happen again.
Lip synch fail @ 52:10. Still love this though.
He reminds me of spider
Man after he got new clothes walking down the street. Love this guy tho.
DC sleeps alone tonight
I just realized this but the song in the beginning before District Sleeps Alone is that from Starman?
the track The Dream of Even and Chan isnt actually a cover. The postal service is actually just a colab of Dntel and Benj Gibbard.
im watching the lollapalooza live webcast right now :D
how did i miss this?
Somehow Nothing Better kept popping up on what last.fm considered the "Garden of Allah" station, not at all sure how that happened. Whole album
can someone please give me the link to watch the entire documentary. thanks.
what documentary tho
postal service man.
Very ethereal. Jenny's gone postal. Is that guy singing on a treadmill ?
Ben Gibbard ruins my image of Ben Gibbard.
talk about synergy wow
wake me when im dead !
Nothing better is at 18:43
You're welcome 😉
Thanks! I actually have all the songs in the description :)
Aaaah Jenny 😍
Reminds me of Jim Adkins
Of course. I think the same :)
Jimmy Eat World & The Postal Service two amazing band´s.
Agreed!!!!
Who was playing the drums?
I love redheads!!!
Thank you momma for having the album burned when you were a teen, for me to find these guys as a kid and think about you and my dad means very much to me
@Rico Williams She is, but my father isn't anymore
Why does the description say dntel cover? These guys are the original artists of that, they were dntel
Dntel is Jimmy's solo project from before The Postal Service. Each song on Dumb Luck featured a different artist on vocals. The song in question featured Benjamin Gibbard, I'm assuming they clicked and felt a musical chemistry between them thus the postal service was born.
He said "given the circumstances". What did he mean by that?
