OMG only just found this group this evening, they’re brilliant. Found them when I was searching for a song on a TV advert because I thought it was catchy. So glad I did.
As someone who’s 26 and still dealing with struggles with life and identity and purpose, hearing Sam Herring say “Life’s hard when you’re young but it evens out over time. Let’s get through this together, alright?” made me want to cry🥹
@@Waluiginumberone well, as you get older you will see more people you care about die, you have more responsibilities, it doesn't get easier, it's much easier when you are young in that respect. Naivety is a shield. Saying that, you do gain the experience and the weathering to take it better, small stuff seems less important, and you hopefully become a lot more comfortable with who you are. But the statement things get easier is just false hope. I'm fine, successful business, house in London, happily married, but it's hard work all the way. Enjoy your youth.
@@SingularityMedia I'm dying of cancer, have a wife with Parkinson's and I believe you are talking sh1te. Loss is the inevitable result of HAVING had things for a time. The angst of youth, the suicide rates, the mental health issues, the peer pressures, the unrelenting barrage of social media expectations and articles telling us we are wrong if we don't comply with someone else's image of what we should be like or what we should think, all the things we want to shield our kids from are desperately horrible compared to the pains that come with age. Furthermore, my marriage has never been hard work and earning a living made me proud, strong and whole. I find it deeply disconcerting that you would tell someone in torment that life doesn't get any better, that is abhorrent to me. I believe we are here to build folk up, knocking them down is shameful.

Favorite band in the world, seeing them live was indescribable. What an unbelievably perfect mix of bass, synth, rhythm, and lyrics. Sam is undefeated with songwriting and drawing in a crowd. And one of the rare bands that continues to produce great songs on every album. Long live Future Islands
Thank you Sydney Opera House and Future Islands for making available this amazing live session at this equally amazing venue. This is also probably the best video registrations of Future Islands i've seen, the camera work capturing the vibe and Sam's moves, the audio and the final edit. Great stuff.
Don't know if these guys read this, but this is the most beautiful live performance I have ever seen. Live performance for me is sharing your emotions. Forgetting everything around you and bringing love. ❤❤
They are the best band live around these days and this is from a veteran of live gigs- just superb and brilliant- love the songs and energy- Adore them and are totally faultless - new album is cool too!!
I am so in love with the sound of this awesome singer I have only just discovered this band from the Avios ad I cannot believe I have only just discovered them !
Diagnosed a week ago at 27 with bipolar disorder. S/o to Future Islands’ live performances getting me to feel emotions after living 27 years without feeling much of anything other than the chronic pain that comes from another condition I was born with. After my d/x and beginning proper medication, I realize how powerful their music is to get me to feel that type of shit whenever I really didn’t feel much of anything.
Opera House is actually perfectly fitting for them as Sam and the boys truly put on a real Show with Emotion and Tragedy and Happiness and Everything is a beautiful story and journey with Sam. So good!

What a terrific set, and video recording. Beautifully capturing the spirit and energy of this great band. Looking forward to experiencing them live for the first time, in September at Mission Ballroom in Denver.
I remember seeing Future Islands in 2015 or 16 at the Oxford Art Factory. Great to see them on a much bigger stage, with Samuel herrings moves still as iconic and voice still as emotive as ever.
Sam absorbs their energy for his performance. He can hit all the way in the back of the theater but he keeps it tight so most of the crowd can still move to go buy alcohol during the show
What He did 9:28 is the most spectacular thing🎉 This play of light, it completed this scene 👌 It is wasn't planned, it's the emotions of the event❤ The transition from gentleness to strength👊This is just one of many great moments from this event 🌟
I just love it when he does Seasons…it’s like your 1990’s geography teacher had an absolute meltdown about his relationship status in front of a bunch of 13 year olds
OMG only just found this group this evening, they’re brilliant. Found them when I was searching for a song on a TV advert because I thought it was catchy. So glad I did.
my oh my. You should check out the David Letterman show ...!
same here
Like you found this because of the ad,this 71 year old is ‘buzzing’. Great music and lyrics.
Same, they are amazing
Same here !!

These guys are something, I feel you bro. Lets get through with the help from our friends and a lot of Future Islands :}
he`s lying, it doesn`t even out, it gets harder so enjoy your youth, it shields you from some of the hard stuff.
@@SingularityMedia I'm sorry you feel that way. I hope things get better for you❤

That dude is one of the best frontmen I've seen in years.
I see FI live anytime they're within a hundred miles of me. They are such an underrated band (and my favorite).
This is the best front man who take away emotion, Who is next.... maybe Jack Black from Tenacious D .. Who??
Sam is the best! I just love these guys! I can jam to them all day!
Best performance of Long Flight ever!
Yes, it is fantastic! Samuel and the Band are getting better and better.
He didn't like the feedback the floor gave so he let it know what's up

Brilliant! A great mate of mine has introduced me to them. Myself and my granddaughter are gonna see if we can find a way to see them live 👍😍
One of the rare modern bands (apart from synthwave genre) that personifies the fabulous 80s in a best possible way.
Can't agree more.

How are those dorks just sitting there in the front row, if this music doesn’t make you move you may not be a human

RIGHT! just sitting there, not even a smile on their faces.
In México we dance a lot with him!
Fantastic performance!

El cantante es fantástico, muy bueno y carismatico.
Top demais, ouço os future todos os dias, Samuel T Hering canta demais.
Brilliant.........
Herring is one of the greatest performers of our generation. It's a shame he/they don't get more shine. Unbelievable. Long Flight... damn
What is that crap "he/they"? Are you playing the pronoun game?
Singer/band @@mikegarippo7815
No, hullabaloo means He (San) or the Band.
There's a new hardest working man in showbiz. And he perspires as much as the last one.
What an amazing band, in marketing language we say "Blue ocean" (There is no other band like this) 💙
Loved them since I first saw them on Jools Holland 8 years ago... Just as unique today as they were then.
Me too
Amazing sound and style just like Modular Music from DU!!!
Spectacular ❤
Just WOW!!!
Very cool, thanks for putting this together

Can't wait for their concert in Peru!
Same here - counting the days for their show in Bogota ❤️
This guys synth parts are just stupid good. King of Sweden might be one of the coolest tracks I've heard this year from any band. Late to the party.

The best music is always stuff you’ve never heard the like before, like the Police and simply Red to name but a few, captivating.
