The Marine Corps is meant to be tough and unforgiving. I was in the 1970's and that boot camp you got your ass kicked. But it made us strong and formidable. You want easy, join another branch.
If MEPS wake ups were difficult for you, you absolutely fucked up. You're weak. I'm just going to throw that out there, no sugar coating it. I hope they gave you an admin MOS, because you won't make it four years in anything else. I didn't enjoy this video. Wtf is going on with the USMC?
Maybe it doesn’t make sense when people are calling it marine corps like yourself and people actually calling marine core like it’s pronounced goofball😂
I graduated from a police academy in Camarillo ca that was 21 weeks, we had cadets who were former marines who said this was harder than bootcamp. He is very correct in stating be physically fit prior to arriving.

Boot camp nowadays don’t really make warriors anymore. It’s so restricted anyone can join. It’s honestly disappointing and I wish I could do something to make it better again
They made the marines soft. We are in trouble. Straight up.

lot of inaccurate information in there For context, I was a series honor man in 1982 Appreciate the video but I would be concentrating on how to become a better Marine, rather than doing youtube videos
With all due respect, 1982 boot camp was way more hardcore than nowadays. I was expecting old school marines and all I got was day care , luckily I was a grunt and they’re way more about that manly culture still. So I ended up getting mine but still if I chose another job then idk if I would’ve gotten that challenge like I wanted. Idek how to fix it because you talk to the Sgt Majs and stuff and they always say no one listens to them and it’s watered down now idk how watered down it’ll be by the time I get to that level
A lot of misinformed information here. This young Marine is attempting to help but in reality everyone’s experience is vastly different. For example I couldn’t swim when I shipped learned and passed swimqual without any problems. Went back as a DI and I can’t remember dropping a recruit for swimming. As far as all the “tests” he is referring to, speak with your recruiter, they have the best information however, something in you made you want to accept the challenge of becoming a Marine, you will be just fine. I am disappointed with all the seasoned Marines comments about degrading standards. I assure you the salty Marines were saying your generation had it easy as well. Bs I did not know how to swim a lick and they taught me to float and back peddle. Then in the fleet I had to qual at a higher level to go on a float and I made ws2 after being in pool training for a day. Also I barely ran before and did some pull ups.
