Priit is a defensive wizard. I've been working on Hawking, Turtle and Panda for a year straight now and am amazed at how much harder it is for my brown, purple and blue belt training partners to break my defense down now. Awesome stuff!!
I'm a white belt in my late 30s who weighs just under 200 lbs., and I've successfully used this defense against other white belts during sparring. All of these opponents are younger than me (I assume), and two of them are heavyweights -- including a former collegiate wrestler. The fact that I was able to apply this during sparring with zero time spent drilling it beforehand motivates me to continue to improve my technique. Thank you, Priit!
somewhere around minute 30:00 a problem is presented, but when done in participant it was coming from front, when done in Priit it was coming from back. I would love to know if when coming from the front if the answer would be the same.
Prit should be a good guitar player with the Tyrannus rex arms! Same good arm position for an electric held high and tight like you're playing standing up on the back of a flat bed truck driving down the street in a parade!
I feel like staying in an away facing Hawkins is a recipe for a north south choke potentially... Cause the main control arm for the north south choke and the arm trying to get under the elbow arnt the same arm. What am I missing please?
I tried this tonight and when I'm forced to start heading north south and unable to use my chest to push the elbow across but in trying to do it dropping my chest lower and using the hand that doesn't go under the elbow to wrap the head. When they try to defend by shrugging and head position I tri pod high with head and should driving up the body low pinning the hips on balls of feet hips high it lifts the head and allows me to get a good north south choke position with my arm or I focusing on try to lift the head more and either go back to the kimira after I slide knees u der and the guy on my lap. Or with the lifted head I can fix the shrug head position issue and go back to the north south choke. I am working under the assumption that the defense technique.works and that I'm missing something just trying to figure it out,.. so I appreciate anyone who takes the time to reply
But the real question is "can this work for people who can't stretch belly to thighs?"...because all standards have to be lowered in today's world so that people can be lazy yet still take part.

I see Priit, I "click"!!
Same… click and watch to the end then replay.
@@kogrady2409 Me too!!
Can't wait to try this out, Hawking has been a godsend for me and this will be an awesome piece of the puzzle.
Yes! More priit stuff! This been bugging me a bit but this angle really fixes everything
It is lifesaving. God bless you all.
this is brilliant. wow. just a small angle change makes a huge difference
Always letting people test what you teach is a sign of strong material.
Best BJJ youtube channel.

just what i need, thanks priit!
@DefensiveBjj what about the situation where some one is able to get kimura grip and lifts you up where you are hanging from just your arm please?
then cut the arm off and no more kimura lol
I’m curious tho, does defensive bjj that priit teaches work in MMA?
Watch Robbie Lawler vs Colby Covington 1. round and you will see the potential
Yes it does and he Shows in some classes.
Cant explain through Text in this context
what if they go for head control first instead of securing the kimura grip and shoulder
i feel stupid. if the elbow is back and secured in proper position then you can not simultaneously get both head and shoulder
I see mount everywhere. Understand kimura is safe but mount is available
The real knowledge is dropped at 10:55 that centrifugal force isn't really a force, it's just intertia
Why don't u just babybridge into themand lower elbow to mat and face the opponent?

@@penelopeallan6495 Well I would need to see it before I can answer
Dont fear the kimura, i fear that they try mount and at most the armbar..
Yeah maybe but this looks like a strength defense .
Well I can assure you it is not 🤓
Then you aren't looking closely... This all based on angles and body positioning.
sweet ! new priit shit lol
