  • How to Grow and Care for Azalea plant? Azalea is one of the most beautiful Spring flowering plants and here in this video I have provided complete info about Azalea plant care with updates.
    Sorry to say that, I forgot to write the Potting Soil Mix recipe in the video (which I normally do). So, please refer below in case you find any difficulty to understand the Azalea Potting Soil Mix recipe -
    Initially, I took 2 components - 70% and 30%. The 30% is the dried leaf. Now, please consider the 70% as 100% and we need to add these components -
    Normal Garden Soil - 40%, Vermicompost - 30%, Cocopeat - 20% and Perlite - 10%. Instead of Perlite we can also use Sand and instead of Vermcompost, we can use Home made compost. It's always better to use Compost as it's acidic in nature and Azalea needs acidic soil.
    If you still have doubt about preparing the potting soil mix, then first prepare the 70% thinking as 100%. After that, add the dried leaf.

      You are most welcome and thank you very much for your feedback, appreciated! Hybrid - bloom more than the usual variety. Plus, they are much more bushier and short (as you can see in the clip). But, I don't think they are worth of Rs. 700 or more. They get imported from China to India and so price gets increased!

      @@GardeningUpbeat As I know the Azelias are mostly imported from Kalimpong and Sikkim. I don't think they were imported from China.

    In Delhi NCR whatever potting mix you use or whatever care you do, you just lose azaelea plants due to scorching heat of summers. In Feb-Mach they do very well but by mid April their leaves start drying followed by stems.
    Please advise.

      @@GardeningUpbeat thank you!! How often do we apply alum in our azaleas?

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Рік тому +1

      Most welcome...plz avoid using too much..usually, if all goes well and Alum is the good quality one, applying only once would be fine. But again, depends on your soil. To stay on safe side, apply today and observe the result for next 25-30 days. If nothing happens, apply once again. These are Chemicals and and behaves differently based on the soil. That's why, better to be stay on safe side. Instead of all these things, Leaf Compost or even dried leaf is far better option if you can manage as it's not going to have -ve effect even if we apply bit more. Good luck!
